Chickweed Moth (Haematopis grataria), Eastern U.S.
This female chickweed moth gets its name from its all-time favorite food (as a caterpillar), chickweed. This pollinator sports shades of pastel yellow and pinks, resembling flowers it visits. One difference between males and females is that males have big feathery antennae and females’ antennae are thin. photograph by Krista Lundgren/USFWS
