How could I not reference one of the most iconic scenes in the show? How she had planned it all and how no one fully knew her plan? God I love her so much! She had finally beaten Lestat at his own game.

Day Five - “When the last remnants of your era are gone, the cars, the hairstyles, the beliefs, how will you go on?”

I just love how we collectively agree that Claudia would be so fashionable no matter the decade. The outfit on the left is from the 80’s, the middle is the 2000’s, and the one on the right is actually based off of an outfit I’ve worn!

I hate when I say things like "oh I want an ipod classic but with bluetooth so I can use wireless headphones" and some peanut comes in and replies with "so a smartphone with spotify?" No. I want a 160GB+ rectangular monstrosity where I can download every version of every song I want to it and it does nothing except play music and I don't need a data connection and don't have to pay a subscription to not have ads and don't have popups suggesting terrible AI playlists all over the menus.

Day Four - “The wilderness that is our daughter.”

God, The Unholy Family makes me cry every time I think about them. Because despite the horrific circumstances of Claudia’s turning, despite her being “a band-aid for a shitty marriage”, they did love her. And it still wasn’t enough to save her. It wasn’t enough for either of them to choose her over their lovers.

Claudia deserves to haunt these two for the rest of their lives.

Day Three - “I have no human nature.”

I immediately knew I wanted to do an abstract piece for this prompt (despite my lack of experience w/ abstract art). I felt that this was the best way to depict her self-loathing, her anger, her sadness, and how much she suffered.

Day Two - “The dress, for my body. And I’ll need some gloves. I’m thinking white.”

While looking through photos of Claudia for references, I noticed that there’s a color theming surrounding her outfits. Throughout Claudia’s childhood, she is dressed in shades of blue (as seen with the outfit she first kills in) or when she is being infantilized (the Baby LuLu dress). But as she gets older & develops a sense of who she is along with a desire to truly be seen, she leans more towards outfits with red, purple and yellow in them. I really wanted to highlight that with this piece, and with Claudia looking at who she wants to be.

A rather literal take on this prompt. Claudia in a library and taking notes in her diary. I’m curious as to what she discovered throughout her journey. Did she take the time to read for the sake of fun? What were some of her favorite authors and pieces of work?

It’s also a bit hard to tell, but the books on the floor are Carmilla, Emily Dickinson, and A Doll’s House.
