Blake nodded. "That's the smartest idea anyways." She snorted. "you never know anymore these days." She then shrugged it off before she looked at the gentleman. "Well, I wish you luck with the next person when you meet up with them. Tinder dating does work, it's just hard, sadly." She said exhaling as she leaned against the counter as she tilted her head. "and I so would drive you home if you wanted but I already had a few drinks tonight."
“I might, but not now. I’d rather feel them out first.” Give it a couple of days, make sure they aren’t going to try and harvest my kidneys when my guard is down.” Not that he’s ever experienced such an instance, but the mention of someone pocketing the young woman’s hair has him wondering. People get up to weird things. “I’ll hang out here for a minute, then head home. Being I drove, this right here is it for me.”

Blake chewed her lip a bit as she kept watching, fingers messing with the bottle that she was drinking out of before her eyes went to the controller. She perked, intrigued, before she grabbed it. She pressed a few buttons to figure out the move set before she started to play. "Oh thanks-" she said.
She cringed a bit since she was pretty bad at it at first, missing her shots at the enemies. "Jesus I suck at new games-" She snorted. "I'll probably hand it back to you soon anyways though, since I am tired after all that- but the game already feels amazing to play."
Aiden keeps his mouth shut about it. His cynicism is of no use here (or anywhere, honestly). At the very least, he can spare Blake of it. She’s answered with a hum, smothered behind the mouth of the bottle he brings to his lips after another digital enemy is eliminated. He doesn’t care either way, insensitive to the idea that people might be misplaced. He’d been during the hurricane.
“Yeah, sure. You take the couch then.” Blake doesn’t need to press it further. The offer of his bed had been a very fleeting moment of generosity. It’s gone as quickly as he suggested. He hardly shares his bed with anyone with the spare room available. Aiden just figures Blake might not want to be alone the first night. “It’s comfortable anyway. I’ll make sure to not fall asleep here.”
Aiden looks to her curiously and hands the controller over. “Yeah, it’s fun. Have a go at it.”

Blake, who was scrolling through her phone, panicked from Darcy busting through her door. “Jesus Darc.” She breathed hard before sitting up. She leaned to look in the box before looking at her friend. “What the heck did you do to them?” She asked. Evie loved Megamind so she knew why Darcy was so freaked out about what she did.

"Blake!" Darcy yelled as she burst into her roommate's bedroom. "We have an emergency and I need your help right this second or I may actually die!" In Darcy's hands was a box to the movie Megamind that was stained and clearly ruined by something spilled on it. "I fucked up Evie's copy."

Blake listened to her friend as her eyes stayed on the tv, sipping her drink before placing it down. She let out a soft sigh before shrugging. "I like to be optimistic so I'll stick to the possibility of it being.. an accidental fire." she said. She didn't wanna stress more than she already was about it anyways.
Her expression then softened from Aiden suggesting her to sleep on the bed. "I mean.. If anything.. I could sleep on the couch instead? I don't wanna take up your bed." She said, smiling genuinely at his offer. "Thank you, by the way. I hate that I'm even shaken up from it.. but, ya know.. I'm an anxious adult." She snorted at her statement, knowing Aiden was very much aware of her being that way.
Her eyes went back to the tv, watching him beat the antagonists as she swayed her feet side to side as a little fidget. "I definitely wanna play this game later down the road- It looks good."
"Good. Every reason to be scared," Aiden muses, blunt and honest. He leans back into the couch, toggling the settings before resuming a previous saved file in his game. "If you weren't, you'd be cracked outta your mind." Or, at the very least, in shock still. He makes a short 'hmm' sound at the suspicion of a cooking situation gone wrong. Burnt toast or pizza pockets - the lot of young adults in this world that don't know how to cook astounds him still, and there is no leniency granted in his judgments despite acknowledging that he has a leg up in that category.
"If… you're shaken up," Aiden starts slowly, glancing at her from his peripheral for a brief moment between firing off at in-game antagonists. "I'll give you a pass to sleep here. So you're not alone." A moment of softness is granted. "I'll take the couch."

"Trust me, I end up running eventually." Blake snorted before shrugging it off. She hadn't done online dating in a while so she wasn't scared of the possibility of a weirdo creeping her out on a date.
"Gee, don't ask. Just know I saw him put a piece of my hair in his pocket." She shook her head, laughing at it because it was weird, yet funny at the same time. She slowly messed with the sleeve of her right arm as she leaned and looked at his phone. She eyed it before looking at him and snorting a little. "You gonna go for it?"
"Either weirdo sounds like a curveball to dodge on a first meet up." Or he might just be shallow, which, eh - likely. "Sounds like you need to do less scooting and more running if they're that off." Aeris likes to think he has a better gauge of these things over messaging before it gets to that point. While quick to hop on a chance to meet up, he is also pretty selective when it comes to offering. Maybe it is because his intentions very well might be different than hers. He shrugs, the stranger's sympathy brushed off in the action while he plays on his phone. "Dare I ask your weirdest dating app match?"
"Not a problem. It's better not to entertain a flake. I'll just cast another line out, which…" Aeris holds it up to show her that he's matched with some other willing person wandering out there in Aurora Bay.

Blake always was the introverted type when it came to having a night out with her pals, but she was talked into going to the nightclub. They left her alone but it didn't matter much, since she found herself actually having a grand time. She was dancing to the music, already a little tipsy, which doubled the amount of fun she was already having.
Feeling the bump happening, she stumbled but let out a soft chuckle. Her gentle hand moving to make sure the woman didn't fall, despite feeling her hand on her shoulder. "Easy." She said, a giggle escaping her lips before her eyes met hers. "Don't apologize- The bump did absolutely nothing to me." She cooed, playfully. I mean it was true. Not like Blake fell on her face from it. "You headed to the bar?"
location: oasis night club / @aurorabaystarter
every day seemed pretty much like a party when you work at a night club--or at least that's what valentina assumed it would be. however, the reality was far from it as she only stole some few moments away during her break to dance with the crowd of people. the music surged from the speakers, a symphony that enveloped the space in electrifying energy. unfazed by the swirling mass of bodies around her, valentina surrendered herself to the rhythm--her lithe form seamlessly moving through the rhythm.
navigating the tangle of bodies in an attempt to make her way to the bar, a collision jolted her momentarily. her shoulder bumped against another's, the impact nearly disrupting her balance, precarious in her high heels. a reflexive hand shot out, fingers finding purchase on the person's shoulder, a lifeline that prevented her tumble.
her laughter bubbled forth, a gentle symphony of mirth that harmonized with the music. valentina's eyes, glinting with a playful spark, met their gaze as she whispered in a mischievous tone, " oops--sorry. " and she hasn't even had a drink yet.

“Thanks.” Blake mentioned to the gentleman before she listened to him and snorted. “Oh that's happened to me a few times— I hate to admit it- or the person turns out to be a complete weirdo. But not the good weirdo that makes you laugh— ya know? The type of weirdo that makes you scoot away awkwardly.” She rambled. She wasn’t the best at conversation since she rambled way too much to begin with. “I hated it- but sorry, I know that had to suck and all.” She said, a soft genuine frown on her face as her eyes stayed on him.
An old fashioned. Aeris nods, semi-impressed by the choice. Unexpected, of course, but he can appreciate a curve ball. "Old fashioned it is." A nod to the bartender, and he begins with a close-mouthed chuckle. So she'd heard him. "I should really give up on it, too. I'm not sure if it's the zip code or the age group, but—" Aeris shrugs, sipping his beer and looking out to the others in the room. "Go from messaging every day to vanishing the day you intend on meeting."

Blake sat down on the little couch as she ate a few more of the crunchy chips, eyes watching him before looking at the mini fridge. She then got up quickly as she opened the door and grabbed a beer for herself. After all that, she needed to let loose. She then sat back down and leaned back and popped open the beverage before sipping it, thinking to herself. She wasn’t dangerously close but close enough to be scared shitless. “i know the same floor but I don’t remember the.. reason behind it. All I know is that I was scared.” She snorted, but who wouldn’t be scared due to a fire in their home? She shrugged it off. “They’ll figure it out- but it most likely was someone cooking.” She laughed a little as she sipped her drink again.
There's a hang-out pit in his room, a half-level below the floor his bed and everything else is on. With a couch and a coffee table, it's like his own personal living room. Courtesy of mother, and technically his late father's child support money, he doesn't have to linger in public spaces for his own entertainment. The button on the controller is pressed while he walks by to turn the system on, but Aiden bypasses to head to the mini-fridge in the corner to retrieve a beer.
"Help yourself to anything in there, if you want." Aiden uses his lighter to pop the lid off of his beer and extends that same arm to the mini-fridge. "There's soda in there if you wanna be boring. But, yeah." He's settled into the couch to get his game started, and a few sips of his beer are taken. "So… how close were you to the fire? Know what started it? Probably some dumbass burning their toast."

“Shit, I’d make out with hot actresses- even if it meant pull out shitty movies out the ass.” Blake nodded as she moved and ate another fry.
“I’m pretty sure I do too, since uhh.. we watch it all the time— You do more than me, but you know what I mean.” She grinned, wiggling her brows up and down. “Whaddya say?”
"Adam Sandler has some... passable movies. You know, I feel like most of the movies he does is for the sole purpose of making out with a couple of really hot actresses. Which..." She paused, offering Blake a simple shrug. "Can't really say I blame him."
Evie snorted out a laugh. "Act it out? What, like we have the script memorized?" There was another pause. "Because I do."

Blake beamed, expression lighting up before she did walk closer as she chewed on another chip. "Trust me, I won't make a mess." She chuckled a little. She'd rather be with someone for a few hours than go straight to a room and hide away with her overthinking thoughts, so she definitely appreciated Aiden for letting her watch him play.
Blake swallowed rather loudly before she smiled. "Whenever you're ready, I'm ready."
"Yeah, sure." Aiden shrugs, noncommittal. Something to keep her mind off things. Fire and smoke stacks darker than the night sky. Escaping literal chaos to come here. She must be so scared to just take a room, too, but he figures there is enough space is this giant house that being somewhere less familiar (in the sense she's visited, but Aiden rarely offers the spare room to anyone since, well, even Phoebe doesn't count because he didn't mind sharing his space with her back then) is the most comforting option. "You can bring the chips, but don't drop any in the carpet. Or feed any to J.D. He likes snacks, but chips will get him sick."
"Or else, I'm coming for your neck."

Blake sat near the bar, humming to the music that was currently playing before her eyes went to the gentleman talking to her. She sat there, awkwardly due to him getting a drink for her. "Oh, thanks- I'm drinkin' an Old Fashioned-" She said as she finished her final sip before she grabbed the other the bartender handed to her after making it up. "and I definitely gave up on Tinder a lonnggg time ago- did you just have a Tinder go wrong?"
OPEN STARTER for @aurorabaystarter at the bar of your choice, surprise me
He'd been in a five day long chatting spree with this person he matched with, and Aeris is finding with great disdain that they are once again ducking his invitation to meet out. It'd been harder in Aurora Bay. Los Angeles had a much larger pool of folks not looking for anything serious, and he did realize a drop in conversation when he'd told them he just wanted to have fun, per se. So here he is, tossing back a shot of Patron alone at the bar.
Alone in the sense he came alone, and not with any of the people about. It is fortunately busy enough in there he can find someone entertaining to strike up a conversation with, or he can call it quits and head out while only one beer and one shot in. "Fuck Tinder."
And Hinge, for that matter.
Spotting another by themselves, Aeris flags down one of the bartenders and motioned for another beer while he speaks. “One more, and something for them too,” he said, just loud enough for the other to hear. “What're you drinking?”

Blake hesitated as she put the food she had on her fork inside her mouth, chewing slowly before she exhaled. She knew she was an adult and that she shouldn't let what others say get to her, but the constant mention of her hands shaking made her self conscious enough already. In fact, these people were a few years younger, brats that thought they were better.
"I just- I wanna tell them to fuck off, but I don't wanna cause a huge scene- Maybe if I just don't look their way- They might leave me alone- or you know what I will say it- I just dunno when." She rambled as she cringed a bit. Yeah.. she already knows she wouldn't have the guts to do it.
open starter for: everyone / location: pick your poison as long as we're eating good / pick your own adventure
"No." Veronica stated focusing on the food she was cutting up with her fork. It was soft enough to not have to use a knife. "What you need to do is..." She paused to take a small bite, chewing thoroughly before speaking again, "You need to tell them to fuck off because that's weird behavior." She shook her head. She couldn't believe this person hadn't stood up for themselves any sooner. "If not, I will."

Blake tried napping but couldn't relax no matter how hard she tried. After the fire that happened a while ago, she was still stressed, despite being back in Ocean Crest. She always had that mentality to over stress about stuff that she shouldn't anyways. She couldn't stop it, no matter how far in the past it was.
Blake ended up venturing to the diner. However, being stopped in her tracks by the woman in front of her, she paused and eyed her before looking at her face. She winced a bit even hearing about the kid. "I already know I'm going to get severely overwhelmed over a kid that doesn't know how to act right.." She grumbled a bit, knowing she wouldn't relax inside either. "Well, despite being having an obvious shitty night, you're still pretty." She said, throwing up a thumbs up before snorting. She knew she was horrible at conversation, so this was the best she had when trying to cheer someone up. She sighed a bit before sliding her hands into the pockets of her sweatpants before cocking a brow. "Well.. when's your shift over?"
to: open ( @aurorabaystarter ) location: outside of all nighter diner
covered in a bit of left-over mashed potatoes, courtesy of the kid who decided to use her as target practice, arya stepped out of her all nighter diner for a bit of fresh air; plus, it was nearing the end of her shift. it wasn’t often that work got the better of her, even less did she smoke while on shift, but today was another kind of day. between kids throwing mash potatoes, someone yelling at her over their food being ‘cold’, and making little to no tips, it all just piled up on her. she settled herself behind restaurant, in a little alley, not too far from a person’s view if they were walking by and let out a soft, long sigh. “fuck,” she sighed. even though she didn’t smoked cigarettes arya always kept a pack on her to concel what she truly kept hidden within the nicotne sticks. there’s the sound of approaching footsteps heading her way, though it didn’t detire her from her mission, curious eyes do gaze up from the pack in her to see who was passing by, “don’t you dare point out how shitty i look, because i feel it. if you’re heading inside, beware of the kid at table four.”

Blake's slender fingers messed with the chip in her hand, anxiously, as she listened to her friend speak. She then stuck the crunchy chip in her mouth, breaking the tip of it off and chewed it slowly as she thought to herself. "Hm, no I haven't actually, I've heard of it though- Mayyybeee.. I could watch ya play?" She grinned at Aiden before sliding the rest of the chip into her mouth.
Aiden draws in a deep breath, willing himself the patience to not scold Blake for yet another apology.
How difficult it must be to live life walking an egg shells as it is, thinking every done requires any for of guilt and an 'I'm sorry', certainly snapping wouldn't make Blake feel any better. He wonders if she is always like this, or if it is just around him and his rough edges.
Or it might be her nerves after all she's dealt with.
"Hmm?" Aiden pulls the handle to his air frier to look inside, poking at the shrimp to test the crispiness of the batter, then pops it back in. "Probably go outside, smoke a cigarette, maybe take a shot of Jack and then play a game. Dead Space, you ever play it?"

"Hey, Adam Sandler has some funny movies." Blake said as she chewed slowly. "But I'm okay with it, so let's watch it- or.. we could act out Megamind in a very horrible way." She cooed, a grin pulling at her lips as she looked at her friend.
Evie paused, turning to flash Blake a playful, incredulous look. “It’s my favorite movie, Blake. I’m in mourning. And you’re poking fun. How rude.” Eyes sweeping over the minute assortment of her movie stash, she opted for the only other movie that fit the whole “goofy, comedy” bit. Holding up Grown Ups, she shrugged. “It’s not very good because, we’ll, it’s Adam Sandler, but it’s watchable and has some funny bits,” she suggested, taking a few strides closer to the couch where Evie reached into the bag, pulling out a box of chicken nuggets. “That work?” she asked, biting the crispy skin off of the nugget.

Blake eyed the woman before her smile grew a little. She was always willing to help out anybody, so she didn't mind doing what she suggested. However, she couldn't pass down a free drink either. "Well.. I'm alright with a drink then. Whenever you're ready to do so, no rush. Oh- and the name's Blake, by the way." She said, a grin forming on her face as her eyes stayed on the woman's face.
“ it definitely helped “ Ramsey noted with a smile as she steadied her balance. She normally didn’t get embarrassed but the fact she was a famous model and tripping into people had a way of bringing her back down to reality. “ you really don’t have to buy me new shoes especially after it the one that ran into you, If anything I owe you a drink or something“ @its-blakeiguess

"Thanks, I tried." Blake's soft expression turned into a soft smile. "I figured I should try to get you to smile after witnessing that." She mused as she held her hands out just to make sure the woman didn't lose her balance. "I could buy you some new shoes, maybe it might make your night." She said, her eyes staying on hers.
Ramsey was relieved as soon as the humor came from the other woman and she appreciated that. The situation could have been incredibly embarrassing and she was glad who she ran into had a good sense of humor. “ no, that was actually a really good pick up line. “ she noted as her expression cracked into a smile. She moved to try to steady herself on one heel and offered the other woman a nod again. “ yeah my shoes are trash but it looks like my ankle is gonna be okay.” @its-blakeiguess
