i’m so glad the canes have decided to move on from burns and orlov. defense is the biggest and most important part of the canes game and they had two defense liabilities. burns was slowing down slavin and making mistakes that he shouldn’t have been making. i’ll give him his props for showing up in the playoffs but that performance alone doesn’t erase everything else he did. orlov had his moments but he was never consistent. a defensive heavy game requires the defense to always be on their game. orlov’s contract is essentially being replaced with k’andre’s. i’m glad the canes are giving him a chance. the few times i have seen him play i enjoyed watching him. he moves really well and is physical. the canes need more physical players. and i really like what i have seen in person. the canes are really good at building defense players and he will only get better.

i’m so upset that they lost :(

but i’m actually so proud of them for making it this far. no one believed in the canes. they were never suppose to make it this far, according to everyone. but they ignored the naysayers, went second in the metro, made the playoffs, made it to the ecf and WON an ecf game! it’s not the ending they wanted but man did they fight to get there.

i love my team and very proud of them! this group is very special and will only continue to get better. go canes! see you in october.
