Settings:
The novel focuses on a young adult male, Jacob Hunt, with Asperger's syndrome living in Townsend, Vermont, who is accused of murder.
Summary:
The story involves Jacob Hunt, a young man with Asperger's Syndrome and an obsession with forensic analysis, who is charged with and tried for the murder of his tutor, Jess Ogilvy. They tell me I'm lucky to have a son who's so verbal, who is blisteringly intelligent, who can take apart the broken microwave and have it working again an hour later. They think there is no greater hell than having a son who is locked in his own world, unaware that there's a wider one to explore. But try having a son who is locked in his own world, and still wants to make a connection. A son who tries to be like everyone else, but truly doesn't know how.
Jacob is deeply interested with forensic analysis to the point of obsession. The novel begins with Jacob setting up a crime scene (in which he plays the victim) for his mother to solve. Jacob is later accused of murdering his tutor, Jess Ogilvy. It is eventually revealed that Theo snuck into a house that Jess was house sitting at and startled her, causing her to accidentally hit her head on the sink and subsequently die.
Jacob Hunt is a teenage boy with Asperger's syndrome. He's hopeless at reading social cues or expressing himself well to others, and like many kids with AS, Jacob has a special focus on one subject in his case, forensic analysis. He's always showing up at crime scenes, thanks to the police scanner he keeps in his room, and telling the cops what they need to do and he's usually right. But then his town is rocked by a terrible murder and, for a change, the police come to Jacob with questions. All of the hallmark behaviors of Asperger's not looking someone in the eye, stimulatory tics and twitches, flat affect can look a lot like guilt to law enforcement personnel. Suddenly, Jacob and his family, who only want to fit in, feel the spotlight shining directly on them. For his mother, Emma, it's a brutal reminder of the intolerance and misunderstanding that always threaten her family. For his brother, Theo, it's another indication of why nothing is normal because of Jacob.
Moral lesson:
The story revolves around Jacob Hunt, a teenager with Asperger's syndrome, who is obsessed with forensic science and is accused of murder. Through the characters and their experiences, we learn a few moral lessons that can enhance our lives.
First, one of the moral lessons from the book is to avoid judging people based on their appearance or behavior. When people meet Jacob, they tend to judge him harshly because he is different from them. However, as we delve deeper into his character, we realize that there is more to him than what meets the eye. We learn to understand people better by getting to know them personally. We realize that everyone has a different story, and we should be more open to hearing it.
Second it is important to stand up for what is right, even when it is not the popular choice. Throughout the book, we see that the characters have to make difficult decisions and take unpopular positions that ultimately lead to positive outcomes. This captures the essence of courage in doing what's right. We can always choose to be bystanders when there is wrongdoing, but it takes courage to take a stance and fight for justice.
Last, communication and empathy are vital skills to have in navigating relationships. The book illustrates the challenges of communicating with people who have different perspectives or abilities. The characters have difficulties communicating with Jacob, but they grow to learn new ways of understanding one another. In the end, they find a way to connect and work together. We learn that communication is essential for building trust, fostering empathy and understanding amongst ourselves.

07: Critique Paper(other book)
Title:Ugly love
author:Collen hoover
Settings: contemporary San Francisco
Characters:
•Tate Collins: a 23-year-old nursing student and nurse in a hospital.
•Corbin Collins: Tate's brother, who works as a pilot.
•Miles Archer: Corbin's pilot friend and neighbor.
•Cap: the 80-year-old elevator attendant at the building where Corbin, Tate, and Miles live.
This story follows Tate, a woman who falls for a distraught and reticent man named Miles. When these two souls meet, their connection is undeniable. However, Miles is a broken man and he cannot offer Tate anything other than a physical relationship.
May examine the characters and their relationships, the author's use of language and imagery, and the ways in which the novel comments on contemporary social issues. It may also explore the novel's themes of self-discovery and healing, as well as its exploration of the complexities of human emotion. Overall, the essay may argue that "Ugly Love" is a powerful and thought-provoking work that offers valuable insights into the human experience.Emotionally, Miles is distant and he makes it clear that he does not want to discuss his future plans with anyone. Miles is reeling from his past, a story that he wants to keep hidden from Tate. As Tate and Miles draw closer, their emotions run wild. Can they both stick to the rules and keep things casual.
When Tate Collins meets airline pilot Miles Archer, she doesn’t think it’s love at first sight. They wouldn’t even go so far as to consider themselves friends. The only thing Tate and Miles have in common is an undeniable mutual attraction. Once their desires are out in the open, they realise they have the perfect set-up. He doesn’t want love, she doesn’t have time for love, so that just leaves the sex. Their arrangement could be surprisingly seamless, as long as Tate can stick to the only two rules Miles has for her.

5: Reflection what I have learned in Creative Writing
On the first week I have learned that Creative writing is a form of writing that encompasses a number of different genres and styles outside the more formal scope of technical writing or academic writing. Creative writing focuses on elements such as character development, narrative, and plot, infusing its structure with imagination and story. And I learned the different types of conflict and this is the man against man, man against nature and man against to the society. Man vs. man is a type of conflict where two characters are in direct opposition to each other. The driving force of the conflict is how these two interact, and how the antagonist keeps the main character and Man vs. society is a type of conflict that is commonly used in fiction. The man vs. society conflict denotes a story in which an individual (or a small group of individuals) chooses to or is forced to fight against their society or community. Man against nature While the story will still have antagonists, the major conflict is with nature itself. This might occur in the form of a natural disaster like a tornado or blizzard. Drought and famine are common in literature.
There could be a supernatural force behind the nature conflict, although the supernatural element is not the main player in the conflict. The man vs. nature conflict can also be about when a character faces resistance from a specific element of nature in achieving their goals. I've also learned about different types of plot, The plot used in fictions can be differentiated into four types: linear, episodic, parallel, and flashback.
