     “ But, I’m...I’m not tired at all. I’m just really        hungry for pancakes and maybe some        bacon. Not the Canadian stuff though. That’s        just ham. It’s ham that doesn’t even taste        that good. “    He blabbered on, his one arm swinging up to imitate the mercenary’s    shoulder squeeze, but also to steady himself from the blurry roller    coaster high he was riding.      “ I think I need glasses. Do you think the doctor        at the hospital might have prescribed me some?        Because, I don’t have any right now. Also, I        really like you. You’re nice even though you kill        other people. You’re nice to me and you make        pancakes for me. “

That didn’t stop him from ruffling Peter’s mess of hair and giving his shoulder a squeeze. Normally, he’d go for something a little more…obnoxious, but he’s not sure how steady Peter is on his feet. he’s not looking to have to carry the guy back to his little Spidey Nest.

      That snarky grin vanished, fading into something more honest. Matt brought his hand up to fondly cup Peter’s cheek, then trailed his grip down his arm to clasp his hand. Using his free hand, he removed his red-tinted glasses and hung them from his suit pocket.

      "Look—- I actually really truly appreciate that you care about me. And I can be a dick sometimes, but I care about you too.” He let go. “Team red forever, right?”

Other wise, his responsibility    was only to help others with them — even if that included a snarky    and frustrating blind guy. However, when it came to the ridiculous    flopping around that ensued, Peter just sort of went stiff and gave    an awkward stare to the older male.      “ But look, when I say that I’ll take care of        you, I meant more along the lines of buying        you lunch if you’re having a bad day or        bringing you home cooked meals from Aunt        May’s and maybe, just maybe helping you        patch up after getting yourself nearly killed.        That last one is a huge maybe. As for fetching        your cane, I’m not a dog and if I was, I am not        a retriever. I am a cute ass Shiba Inu. “

      "Oh– oh no, you’re right Peter. I’m just a poor, bumbling blind guy that needs to be constantly ushered along in life by your loving hands,“ Matt groaned, then pretended to swoon against Peter’s chest and into his arms. He purposely flung his cane up into a fire escape. "Oops, see. Look what I did. Now I need my brave caretaker to fetch that for me–” Matt couldn’t keep the sneer off his features.

But it felt good to hear Peter say he would take care of him– even if he was being facetious.
