I spent the last month working on this commission for a friend. They requested crying Kim and as many gradient dots as possible. I love how this turned out! Look at this pup! She hates having anything wrapped around her arms, which is why we don't use a harness with her. It's something we are working on. Chihuahuas easily get cold, so instead of fighting her to get a sweater on, we found a tiny infinity scarf on Etsy. I'm done and onto the next one, but this photo was taken when I just had a few colors left. I always think my work looks dumb until I get to the last few threads. It's amazing how one color can totally change a cross stitch. Most of the time the images I create look really flat until specific colors are added and then suddenly there's a satisfying depth. Finished Float Babe!⁠ I make my husband take photos of all of my artwork. He teaches high school photography and loves to get really nerdy about it. Let's just say he has several (at least 10) shirts that have some sort of photography pun on them. Yes, I totally make fun of him, but I also think it's incredibly adorable. It's so fun to see him get really into producing the photos of my work. When I take the photos, I use my ancient iPhone 6. The photos are ok, but when he takes photos of my work, he brings out the fancy lights and various props. It's never the same set up. Sometimes there are giant floppy reflectors and sometimes there are usb powered stick lights that come from the future. For the last few shoots, he brought in some fake fur. I laughed at him at first, but now I think the fur makes my work look luxurious af.
