What is AMH?
Anti-Mullerian Hormone (AMH) is produced by follicles in ovaries and reflects Ovarian reserve.
Basically, AMH is an indicator of ovarian reserve in women, created by the granulosa cells of the antral follicles and then it is released in the follicular fluid and blood vessels.
The AMH progressively starts increasing in women from the day of birth and reaches at its peak around the age of 25, it starts decreasing gradually & becomes undetectable by the time of menopause.
How to check the AMH levels?
A blood test is done to check the value of AMH .
The normal range of AMH in women is taken as 1–4 ng/ml.
This value gives an idea of how urgently a woman needs to seek treatment and how her body will respond to it. Both the low and high levels of AMH are pathological and cause a hindrance in conceiving naturally.
Low AMH and its causes
Low AMH means that the woman’s ovarian reserve is rapidly declining Any value less than 1 ng/ml is considered as low, and needs urgent medical supervision.
Age: As age increases the number of eggs decreases.
Stress: long term stress and depression also contributes to lowering the AMH value.
Ovarian surgery: surgery in which part of the ovary is removed and has affected blood supply of the ovary, causes the decline in AMH value.
Hormonal Imbalance
Endometriosis
Inherited genetic causes
Low AMH only indicates that there is a low ovarian reserve, which means the number of eggs in the ovaries are less, the chances of a mature good quality egg and its fertilization are less, hence the decreased chances of getting pregnant.
IVF in low AMH values:
IVF is a potential option, which makes optimal use of these limited left oocytes in the ovaries.
IVF with an appropriately designed protocol of treatment keeping in mind the condition . ie- properly designed ovarian stimulation or an IVF with donor egg results in conceiving successfully through IVF.
Conditions of high AMH
1). PCOS ( poly cystic ovarian syndrome ): In women with PCOS, the ovary does not receive the correct signals from the pituitary to produce the hormone it needs for any of the eggs to fully mature. The follicle that holds the egg still grows and fills with fluid. However, there is no mature egg to rupture it, so it remains as a cyst.
2). Granulosa cell tumour
Again an important thing not to forget is that AMH only marks the quantity of the eggs, not the quality which is more important for forming good quality embryos.
Conclusion: A higher or low AMH doesn’t mean that getting pregnant is a far stretched dream .You just need the right treatment at the right time with the Best team of Infertility Experts.

IVF is one of the proven and tested measures for addressing issues with fertility but most of the couples are still skeptical about it , because they don’t have proper information.
We have got a step by step guide for your IVF treatment.
STEP 1 : Fertility Consultation
The fertility consultation discussion followed by a thorough medical examination. After this your doctor will explain to you all the options and the treatment protocol required to address infertility.
STEP 2 : Stimulation
The female partner will be advised to visit on day two or three of her menstrual cycle, when hormonal investigations are done along with an ultrasound. The ovaries are stimulated with medication (injections) to promote the growth of follicles containing the eggs; this process generally takes 8 to 12 days. The response of the ovaries is monitored through trans vaginal scans
STEP 3 : Oocyte pick up
After taking the medicine, prescribed injection (trigger) is administered to assist the final maturation of the egg and loosening of the egg from the follicular wall. After this The patient has to visit the clinic for the egg retrieval process, which is performed 34–35 hours after the trigger administration. Egg retrieval is conducted with the guidance of ultrasound under mild general anesthesia to make it painless.
STEP 4 : Sperm Collection
On the day of egg pick up, the male partner gives a fresh semen sample, which is analysed and processed by the embryologist in the lab. If the patient has azoospermia then sperm can be extracted from testicles through the procedure named TESA (testicular sperm aspiration).
The egg and the sperm are fused with the help of ICSI technology.
The fertilized egg is kept in the laboratories converted into the embryo.
STEP 6 : Embryo Transfer
After evaluation in the laboratory, the finest embryos are selected for transfer and the doctor gives you a preferable day for embryo transfer.
STEP 7 : After embryo Transfer
Supportive medicines are prescribed and rest for 3 days is advised after the embryo transfer that helps the embryo to implant in the uterus. After the set out period, pregnancy tests are conducted to confirm pregnancy.

Infertility is now more common than you might think. It affects one in every 6 couples and researchers estimate about 1 in every 3 cases is due to fertility problems in male partners alone.
While infertility is not always treatable, there are some things you can do to boost your chances of conceiving. One of the important factors in ensuring male fertility is sperm count. The number of childless couples & statistics of male infertility is increasing at a faster pace. It requires attention to the question about the ways to increase the sperm count. Causes of infertility also include factors like poor nutrition, pollutants such as smoking, environmental chemicals, and poor detoxification processes by the body. Fertility can sometimes be improved with a healthy diet, supplements, and other lifestyle strategies. Consuming healthy foods is one of the best and natural ways of increasing sperm count in males.
Here is a list suggested by Pride IVF of healthy foods that may help in increasing the sperm count in a male:
1. Dark Chocolate: It is a rich source of amino acid L-arginine. The cocoa present in the dark chocolates makes it a good source of antioxidants. It acts as a very good natural source of increasing sperm count.
2. Spinach: Green leafy vegetables are considered to have many health benefits. Spinach that is rich in folic acid may help in the development of sperm and help in increasing sperm production in the male.
3. Walnuts: Most people know the benefits of walnuts for the brain. But it also contributes to increasing the sperm count in males. according to a study eating around 75g of walnuts daily is linked with sperm vitality, motility, and morphology. As they are very rich in omega-3 fatty acids.
4. Pomegranates: Pomegranates have long been considered a superfood due to their high antioxidant content, which helps in enhancing the quality of sperm production and increasing the levels of sperm in males.
5. Banana: Another great choice for increasing the production of sperm in males. Banana, being rich in magnesium, Vitamin B1, and Vitamin C helps in increasing the sperm count and also aids in enhancing sperm mobility. Banana also contains Bromelain, which is a rare enzyme that helps in giving a boost to sperm count.
6. Eggs: Considered to be an effective food for healthy sperm. Eggs help in protecting the sperm and double the chances of fertilization. Being rich in protein and Vitamin E, eggs help in improving sperm mobility in males.
7. Get enough vitamin C: some evidence indicates that taking antioxidant supplements such as Vitamin C, may improve fertility.
Oxidative stress is when levels of reactive oxygen species reach harmful levels in the body. There’s also some evidence that suggests that oxidative stress and excessive levels of ROS may lead to infertility in men.
8. Get enough vitamin D: vitamin D can be important for male and female fertility. It is another nutrient that may boost testosterone levels.
9. Pumpkin Seeds: you can consider adding pumpkin seeds to your diet. They are high in zinc which plays an important role in sperm development and testosterone production also being rich in amino acids, phytosterols, and antioxidants help in increasing not only the sperm count but also the mobility of the sperms.
10. Carrot : Carrot is one of the natural foods to increase sperm motility. As carrots contain beta-carotene, which is an antioxidant, it helps in ensuring healthy sperm and increasing the sperm count.
11. Asparagus: Asparagus is a food that is rich in Vitamin C and helps in protecting the sperm from free radicals. It also helps in improving the volume of sperm in males.
12. Lentils: lentils are one of the richest food sources of folate which is just as important for male fertility as it is for females. It has been found that men who have a lower intake of folate from their diet have higher rates of chromosomal abnormalities in their sperm.
Other important tips:
Many things can help boost fertility but what works for you depends on the cause of your fertility issues.
Lead a healthy lifestyle. An unhealthy or sedentary lifestyle impairs your overall health, including fertility.
Limit your alcohol intake and smoking.
Relax and minimize the stress: prolonged stress raises levels of cortisol, which has strong negative effects on testosterone.

Best IVF Centre In Delhi NCR
Carrying the baby in your womb and holding him/her in your arms hold a lot of emotions that only a female can understand. Every woman wants to experience this emotion but unfortunately, some are unable to conceive naturally due to many medical reasons.
Around 10–12% of the couples with fertility issues visiting Pride IVF, have tubal factors as the cause.
Tubal factor infertility is the condition where the fallopian tube in a woman is blocked which obstructs the process of fertilization of the egg and sperm.
The blocked fallopian tube thereby prevents the sperm and in many cases embryos too from reaching the uterus for pregnancy.
The uterus is connected with a fallopian tube on either side of the uterus.
The blockage can sometimes be a small one where it allows the sperm but not the embryo to reach the uterus.
The proper tubal function allows egg pick up, transport, fertilization and embryo transport from the fallopian tube down into the uterus where the embryo implants.
Recognizing the symptoms of tubal factors infertility is not easy and is very different from conditions like PCOS(polycystic ovarian syndrome) or premature ovarian failure, which have concrete symptoms to relate to.
Usually, there are no symptoms, unless there is water collection in the tube that becomes obvious on ultrasound that suspects a tubal cause.
The diagnosis of tubal factor infertility is initially investigated in most cases with hysterosalpingography.
If the fallopian tubes are open the dye flows into the tubes and then spills out to the abdominal cavity.
However, just because the fallopian tubes are found to be open by this test does not mean that tubal function is normal. The inside lining of the fallopian tube can be severely damaged even though the tube is open and dye spills into the abdominal cavity on the HSG.
There are many patients where the tube is patent as in the tests done for Tubal patency, but the tubes are not functional. Patent non-functional tubes are difficult to diagnose.
Open but scarred tubes are not able to perform the necessary functions to result in the establishment of a normal pregnancy.
Fallopian Tube Blockage Causes:
T.B, pelvic infections, previous pelvic and abdominal surgeries are risk factors.
One of the main causes for tubal factor infertility is infections, which can occur through sexually transmitted diseases.
Other factors such as endometriosis where there is tissue growth outside the uterus or any previous surgery that a woman undergoes can also lead to tubal factor infertility.
Ironically in endometriosis, the tubes are patent in almost all cases but they are not functional due to altered tubo-ovarian relationships.
PID ( pelvic inflammatory disease) where the female reproductive organs are infected also tends to damage the fallopian tube.
History of termination of unwanted pregnancies and untrained staff are also evolving as big factors.
What to do when you’ve been diagnosed with blocked fallopian tubes.
The egg and sperm need a completely clear pathway to do their job well and even a partially blocked tube reduces your chances of conception while increasing the chances of ectopic pregnancy.
Any existing health conditions or known infertility factors combined with a malfunctioning an absent tube can complicate conception for you. This is why your fertility specialist wants to know absolutely every detail of your medical and reproductive history.
Sometimes there are red flags that lead the way to more accurate testing and diagnosis and they cannot be seen waving if you don’t share the details with the team of experts.
Pride IVF highly recommends connecting with a fertility specialist to create a personalized fertility plan.
Fallopian Tube Blockage Treatment
There are two ways in which tubal factor infertility can be treated, either through surgery or through IVF.
One can go for surgery if the fallopian tubes are not damaged badly. Post surgery the condition can be overcome which can help in conception later.
But,if the tubes are severely damaged, doctors recommend IVF which will help women conceive.
Most women who are diagnosed with tubal factor infertility come to Pride IVF after they reach a critical stage and this calls for an IVF treatment center.
However, each case is different and recommendations on surgery or IVF are based on many factors such as :
Age of the patient, number of years of infertility, the severity of the damage, and location of the block.
But IVF is a boon for tubal factor infertility. As IVF treatment can bypass the tubes and conception is possible.

So What are the options for couples who desire to conceive following tubal sterilization?
Life is full of surprises. Circumstances with the time change, priorities change and family-building goals may change accordingly.
That is why many women Despite having consented to permanent sterilization, request information regarding fertility options.
The categorical options are either surgery to reverse the sterilization (tubal reversal) or in vitro fertilization (IVF).
The decision between IVF and a tubal reversal is difficult and Many factors may influence the decision-making process. such as age, cost, time as well as the presence of other potential infertility problems.
So keeping it all in mind we suggest the first step towards parenthood should be to seek professional advice with our experts, who have performed thousands of IVF cycles and dealt with tubal reversal surgeries. This will help guide you through the process of choosing which procedure will bring the best chance in successfully conceiving.
We at Pride IVF strongly recommend in vitro fertilization (IVF):
In vitro fertilization has become the most dominating technique for conceiving in women with abnormal or blocked fallopian tubes.
Since its introduction, the technique has gone under a sea of revolution. Success rates have improved dramatically and it is now implemented in many additional fertility problems such as severe malefactors and unexplained infertility. In essence. The events which ordinarily occur in the fallopian tubes occur in the laboratory, providing a sort of tubal bypass in IVF.
REASONS:
Choosing IVF means future birth control is not needed, as the fallopian tubes remain tied and if the reversal surgery does not correct the tubes, IVF will still be required.
Success rates of IVF are higher to a tubal reversal.
The ectopic rate for IVF is 1%. Ectopic pregnancy rates for tubal reversals is 20%. Ectopias are those that fail & require emergency treatment
Tubal reversals costs are comparable to IVF but with far more risks and less chance of success
IVF is far less invasive
Tubal reversals require surgery. IVF does not.
The time to pregnancy with a tubal ligation reversal can take many months in contrast, IVF is much quicker.
IVF allows selection of the healthiest embryos for transfer and often a choice among several embryos.
A semen analysis of male partner is always necessary prior to surgery; and if the findings are not normal, tubal reversal is extremely unlikely to result in a successful conception.
IVF does not require a hospital stay or extended recovery period; they often require major surgery with a hospital stay.
