And we're back! :D Hello, dear readers! Got another update for ya. We're continuing on with the licensing exam. Izuku is not having a good time but he's doing his best to cope. Shouta is such a dad and Ms. Joker is, well, Ms. Joke. Let's go!

Poor Izuku. I'm sorry to torture you so but the entertainment value...I just can't resist. Blame my brain. But suffering Izuku means sassy Izuku and he is fun to write.

The Dadzawa is so strong in this one. Even to the point of being called dad! :D It's been sinking in for a while but go big or go home when it comes to our green bean. ^___^ Izuku is officially mentally adopted by Shouta. Accept your fate, caterpillar man.

Analyst Izuku strikes again! I just love exploring how smart he can be. Still a mumbler though. We're working on that.

Wha? Two chapters in two days!? It's not like last chapter made me miss a monthly update or anything. Nah, that's totally why I'm posting another chapter because I'm the author and I can do what I want. :P Plus, I just really want to get the exam ball rolling for reasons to be revealed. So yeah, here have another chapter on me. Got some nice juicy drama for ya.

Warning for teasing because with this being the provisional exam that means we get to meet Ms. Joke and her whole marriage proposal thing. Starting at ["Eraser, is that you?"] through until before ["Food for thought,"].

I AM SO SORRY, IZUKU!! not really but still! It's just the opportunity was there and I have plans for the green bean so yeah this is happening. Izuku has been banned because of that pesky quirkless label. And I honestly don't remember if the commission would know of his connection to the Endeavor investigation but then again other than Nezu leaking some info, nothing official just yet. Poor Izu just keeps being put through the wringer.

If you skipped the teasing, Hitoshi calls out Joke for teasing and making his dad uncomfortable. Just a son defending his parent.

Random little tidbit in regards to the order of the students for checking in. If we were to go with the Engilsh alphabet, it would be:

Aoyama, Ashido, Asui, Bakugou, Hagakure, Iida, Jirou, Kaminari, Kirishima Kouda, Midoriya, Ojiro, Satou, Sero, Shinsou, Shouji, Todoroki, Tokoyami, Uraraka, and Yaoyorozu.

But if we went with the Japanese alphabet system, hiragana order:

Aoyama, Ashido, Asui, Iida, Uraraka, Ojiro, Kaminari, Kirishima, Kouda, Satou, Shinsou, Jirou, Shouji, Sero, Tokoyami, Todoroki, Hagakure, Bakugou, Midoriya, and Yaoryorozu.

I went with hiragana so that's why Izuku would be in the same section as Momo since he's an 'm' and she's a 'y'. And another side note, t's debatable for the placement of Jirou and Shouji. Jirou is a し ‘shi’ with a ‘ten ten’ which is the “ symbol added to change the し ‘shi’ to じ ‘ji’. While Shouji starts with し ‘shi’ with a small ょ ‘yo’ to become しょ ‘sho’. And while I tried referencing the final results score board in both the anime and manga that thing is indecipherable, so I guessed. :P It's whatever. Just my brain being extra again.

But yeah, so that's the start of the exam. Rage at me all you want but as always plans on plans when it comes to me. :P We'll get to see eventually how this could affect licensing and work studies and all sorts of other things! Part 4 - Chapter 10 - Vigilante Presentation

Hi! Hello! How are you? :) I'm alive still just this chapter was a butt to finish. One of those I had the idea but not the specifics. To which I had to let it simmer in the background for a while only to get to having this be the next posting and actually get it done. And while it's not my favorite chapter I'm still happy with it enough to post it so here we are! Hope you like it! ^___^

Now fair warning I just kind of went with what felt rightish with using info from the wiki. So any discrepancies I am just gonna say will be what they be. In the long run this chapter doesn't have much impact other than being referenced.

The ever slightest of warning for teasing but it's connected with Present Mic and his extraness. It's close to the end of the chapter and even then is not that bad.

Alrighty. So Izuku's punishments for Hosu are completed and I don't have to worry about them anymore. Phew! Again just kinda went with the flow with this so it is what it is.

Got some TodoIzu fluff in there just because I could. :P And sure Izuku may have been 'taught' how to tie his tie doesn't mean that Shouto is going to stop showing him how. ;) As for the Dabi issue, I don't think Shouto knows about the investigation yet? At least for what I have posted so far. But yeah, I don't think it works to tell Shouto the truth about Dabi yet. In time though eventually.

I remember getting a comment somewhere about not bringing up Knucklebuster in an earlier part which granted valid point. Though I didn't feel it pertinent to change that particular part plus I honestly don't remember where it is. XD But with this we can address that and while perhaps Izuku could have taken inspiration, I personally find him a bit too violent for my version of him. To each their own though. But hey, it's a thing now.

For the origin of Quirks, we now know that the glowing baby was just the first recorded quirk but not the first quirk ever. However that doesn’t get revealed until the end of canon learning more about AFO’s past. So I’m sticking with how they present the baby as the start as common knowledge.

Btw, I am so happy I got the peacockatoo thing to fit! It was just a random brain nugget that I thought was funny. Originally it was gonna be when Mic introduces Izuku but it didn't fit well once I was writing. But then that little blurb came out and its a bit out of place but also I kinda like it. It's whatever.

So I was not expecting the Yoichi pov there at the end. It just sort of happened but I felt the need for something a little bit more. He's already seen the vestiges in the hospital and I'm just seeing how the story flows when it comes to OFA and the vestiges. I have ideas of when Izuku first sees Yoichi 'face to face' and I do have plans for dealing with the singularity issue. Though how those plans will play out remains to be figured out. :P We'll get there eventually.

There you have it! Izuku gains guardians and birthday bonding times! Things are turning around for our precious green bean and he deserves every bit of it. -and might be the calm before a very fun storm i have planned for part 4- ;)

Little bits of ShinKami because they're cute. And of course more TodoIzu again because they're cute. All mixed with ShinIzu brotherly bonding and teasing. I blame working at a crafts store for the whole mug painting shenanigans. It was fun to write though. As was the Dadzawa and NezuDad. I felt like joint custody was best for all associated parties.

If you skipped the teasing, it was just Hitoshi and Izuku playing around with nicknames and resulting making silly pictures of said nicknames. Oh and Izuku drew Hitoshi as a purple cat all caught up in string just like when he was training with his capture weapon in canon. Because it's funny.

So yeah, next part is going to include the vigilante presentation. Which...I have not finished yet. Not entirely sure how that's going to go so I'll just see what my brain comes up with. Though I guess if there are any headcanons when it comes to vigilantes and laws related to them or even favorite moments in MHA Vigilantes that might help, let me know. :) I'd appreciate it. We're back! We're back in the saddle again~! It's update time! Had a spare moment and felt the urge to post. So yay! More of a filler chapter this time around but things I wanted to play around with. Yes, plot is important but these characters have their own lives in my head. Plus, fluff is fun. Enjoy!

Honestly I'm kind of meh on the chapter title but felt it fit the best. There's like three affirmations in this chapter. Izuku to himself, Neito to Izuku, and Shouta to Izuku. So yeah.

I've read other fics where OFA gets forced on Izuku. Again, no plans of him actually using it on my part. But him being viewed as 'ungrateful' is a problem I could see him having. OFA is a very powerful and versatile quirk, but also Izuku wants to prove you don't need one to fight. A mental struggle that he's going to have to deal with for a while. Sorry, Izuku. -not really sorry but also sorry-

Friend Neito has made an appearance again! :D Remember he's nice and just misunderstood in BC. But yeah, he would be able to tell immediately that Izuku had a quirk. Neito is like a quirk detector in a way. :P But yeah, he is now sort of in the know but will protect Izuku's secret and privacy. Yay, another ally!

More Dadzawa with him actually admitting to himself he in some way sees himself as a father figure for Izuku! :D Why? Because I can't help myself and love Dadzawa so freaking much! Especially since it's canon with little Eri and all that. You have no choice but to be a dad, Aizawa. To Eri and your hell class. :P Deal with it.

So yeah. Progress in training has been made. We got to see Mei and her chaotic glory again. Maijima knows about Izuku's quirk as well and will support him with more than just gear. Rejuvenated friendships and a jealous Shouto. All the fun fluff. Coming up, next chapter will address some things that have gone unresolved but I won't say what because that will ruin the surprise. :P You'll just have to wait and find out!

The reason why I adore ALL tddk but why I especially find Shouto x Quirkless!Izuku so compelling is that. they're just-

Izuku with the hard-won victories and the barely-hidden Ambition that thrums in his veins. And Shouto who know the price of ambition but also knows exactly what it means when Izuku discards it in favour of helping him. Izuku- who was never really saved, who still prays, hopes, wishes and never actually expects anyone to show up, who sends the text in Hosu like it's a silly little ritual he has to complete. And Shouto who ditches everything and everyone and comes running. You came//You called. Izuku who smiles politely and Shouto who calls the chief of police a Mangy Mutt. Izuku who was raised on Full Internet Access and Shouto who had just discovered Memes and is unreasonably delighted about it.

and. they're just. A boy who is bluntly, tragically honest and another who is made of white lies. A boy with the power of god at his fingertips and a boy with nothing but his raised fists. A masterpiece and a defect. A boy in chains and a boy with all the freedom that a very tall building provides.

oh and they're both awkward, blushing messes. they're idiots. they're bestfriends. they're late-night arguments over Conspiracy Theories. They are so intense and unintentionally hilarious. They're sun-and-moon coded. They're deep-seated abandonment issues and a difficulty in letting anything go. They're hands, hands, hands. They're two pieces of rubble whose jagged edges fit. As of 2/9/25, I have decided to no longer post on Fanfiction. It has been a lot of extra work on my part and not worth the effort at this point. I will be deleting by the end of the month. We got some progress with OFA! No plans of him using it but can't leave the green bean untrained. That would be unsafe. The whole core thing I made up so if it's weird or wrong my bad. I did have fun with the visuals though. And it may seem quick to have that sort of control, Izuku has included meditation to his routine since back in part 1 so he's familiar with the practice. To me, I feel like it would allow him to enter a similar state as being under Hitoshi's brainwashing of clearing his mind. If that makes sense. :P

Welcome assistant Izuku! It's a random idea that I find highly entertaining. But seriously, with how this story has played out and all the extra work Izuku has done, he should be paid. Also the Dadzawa is so strong in this chapter. ;)

Achievement Unlocked: Oh Yeah, Kicks Are A Thing. My solution to getting to his Shoot style of fighting. Thank you, kangaroos! It came up so randomly when having Izuku observe Ojiro and writing about kangaroo fighting styles. So yeah, there ya go. Btw, Ectoplasm has now joined the list of mentors. XD

Unrelated to that, this is actually going to be a double update! The reason why is it's all one part that came out waaaay too long for one chapter. And I actually had a difficult time finding a good breaking point but I did eventually. So enjoy!

Izuku's going through a bit of a rollercoaster ride emotions wise. He's been fine so far with distractions from his friends, but now he's having to face his harsh reality. Sorry, green bean, but it's for the angst feels. Gotta balance out all the fluff I've been sending your way, readers. :P

I based the physical therapy stuff off my own experience. Honestly I had it super duper easy when it came to that in comparison to others. But still, it's experience, right? Anyway, the info packets and ten minute ice limit come from that.

Sh-sh-shout out to Flaming for their thoughts on the OFA electricity thing. I also looked up descriptions of what electrocution feels like on reddit and such for reference.

Part 4 - Chapter 5 - Fresh Start

Greetings, dear readers! We're back with another update! And this is kind of a celebratory one on my part.

If you don't follow the tumblr or don't use the discord, I've been having a stressful month since last update. Once again someone posted part 1 of BC as a podfic on youtube without my permission. This time wasn't as cut and dry as the first because I had to seek legal consultation on what I needed to do. I've worked really hard on this fic and am not afraid to fight for it. Anyway, despite the stress, the video has been removed. However I need to state for the record that I do not and did not give DN WhatIf permission to post my work. Same for Plush Books from the first time. This statement has already been added to part 1 and I will add that to the others as well.

So there's that. Anywayz, here is a fun chapter for you. We've got more teenage shenanigans because they're all just a bunch of kids who need to blow off steam. Let the kids be kids. :)

Warnings for teasing of course because they're kids. :P There's some gossip sharing with the girls but not exactly teasing. There might be snippets here and there but not many note worthy. There is one at ["You made sure..."] that's a bit stronger. That's about it though.

Izuku's got a new do! Again, I love undercut Izuku. He's so stylish! I will say I know nothing about cutting hair and just went with what I found via google. I haven't ever really experienced the use of clippers, but I based the feeling off of when they did that weird headphone thing for Great Moments with Mr. Lincoln at I think Disneyland. It was a special version of it and you got to experience audibly someone walking into the room from the back, a fly buzzing in your ear, and getting a haircut. It made my hair raise and skin crawl because it sounded so real. Just so weird but an interesting experience.

Got some gossip going on. Ashido is the gossip queen. Also it was fun messing around with Izuku being one of the girls. They're a fun group that need more love. ^____^

Still some tension when it comes to Katsuki and Izuku. But for me, since Kamino there's a shaky bridge build between them. Still needs some structural work but it's there.

More ShinKami bonding! :D With Minecraft. I like to play that and actually it was the first video game I bought myself. Anyway, when I mentioned Kami announcing 'iron!' when finding it is something I do. :P I also like to use cheat codes personally. Sometimes I just want to play and don't need a challenge.

When it comes to Izuku having OFA, I believe the ones who know about it are Aizawa, Nezu, Tsukauchi, All Might, Gran Torino, Recovery Girl, and Shouto. Oh and probs Hound Dog for therapy purposes and Midnight for backup in case Aizawa isn't there. And then that group plus the Kamino rescue kiddos know about AFO being Hisashi.

Fun Facts About Japan:

This actually spans past Japan but the symbolism of cutting one's hair off. We see it a lot when a character is trying to cut ties with their past. Like in Avatar: The Last Airbender with Iroh and Zuko or in Tangled with Rapunzel. For various different reasons. But it's about cutting off what is hurting you and starting over as a new you.

There are Japanese origins to the tradition though going back to the samurai. Their traditional hair style called chonmage ( 丁髷 , ちょんまげ ) was a status symbol. If they were to leave their post, whether by choice or dishonor, they would cut the top knot off. In modern times, sumo wrestlers have a retirement ceremony that involves cutting it off as well.

Another fun fact is the Japanese tendency to do the group gasp. Like seriously it is very much a thing. I think I mentioned this back during the USJ in part 1 but we'll put it here as well. The funniest one I experienced was in Harry Potter world down in USJ in Osaka. We were in the wand room and I was the only foreigner in there. And every freaking time something magical would happen they all together would ooh! and aah! and ooo! and eeeh?! as a group. And I'm just doing my best to keep quiet giggling to myself while the team member running the show is trying to save face even though he was clearly amused by my amusement of them doing that. It was just so funny and endearing!

Got one more for ya, though this one is not so fun. For the students at least and that is summer homework. It is indeed a thing that they have to do every summer to keep up with their studies. In Japan, summer break is roughly two months I believe. From around endish of July through part way through September. In that time, the expectation is for students to complete their homework and attend to club activities.
