First Chapter !!

Chapter 1: Dreams suck and so does the sky

Ebele's father dragged her by her arm as she tried to catch up with him. Her eyes filled with terror as she saw what was going on around her. Wailing and crumbling of buildings filled her ears as she ran behind her father.

 She tried asking her dad where he was taking her, but he couldn't hear her. Eventually they reached a crowded area that was surrounding an even more crowded entrance. Her father picked her up and threw her over his shoulder and he began running with all his might through the crowd to the entrance of seemed like a building. Her dad was able to get to the building due to the fact he worked for the government. Her father burst through the doors and began running down a hallway and down a set of stairs. They reached a place where there was people. Her father finally put down Ebele as he set her down by a small asian with what seemed a soft face and hair just reaching her shoulders.

Ebele gasped as she jolted awake. She put her face in her hands and caught her breath.

"Hey, Are you okay?" Asked yumi.

"yeah....yeah," Ebele replied as she panted. Yumi sat near her and set her hand on Ebeles shoulder.

"Did you have that dream again?" Ebele nodded and took a deep breath.

"You will be okay," said yumi as she hugged her.

"I know.. i know"

"I'm gonna head back to bed and you should too okay. Goodnight Bel," Yumi said as she left her sleeping area. Yumi often called Ebele Bel. It was just a nickname shes used since they were young. Yumi headed back to her room- if you could even call it a room. She unplugged her poorly lit and mostly broken fairy lights from the car battery and laid down again. Yumi sighed and looked through the window hoping to see stars but only seeing smog. Yumi hadn't seen the stars since as long as she can remember. She looked back at the ceiling

Sorry its so short! I promise once I figure out what completely what to do with the story it will be longer and better!

writing tip for asian characters

hey i just have to say something - because i find it could be helpful(?)

so you know how we writers LOVE describing everything? especially the colour of so-and-so’s hair and so-and-so’s eyes. now, if you’re writing from the point of view of a caucasian/any other race that has a multitude of hair and eye colour combination and the character is looking at an asian character and so you’re describing the appearance of the asian character, just do whatever, do what you normally do. 

but

if you’re writing through the eyes of an asian character, and he/she’s meeting another person, don’t describe the colour of anything. instead focus on the length of your hair, complexion, shape of face, scars (unless the person has the most noticeable blue eyes or bright white hair or). 

(as an eastasian myself) this is because asians who have been surrounded by other asians don’t naturally take note of the colour of other’s hair, even if they have green eyes and blonde hair, we don’t take note. sometimes we have to consciously remind ourselves just to realize that “oh yeah you have brown eyes. weird. i didn’t notice before”. 

we’re surrounded by people who have more or less the same hair and eyes, so we look at different aspects of a person’s physical attributes, namely things like the length of their hair and their complexion (have i emphasized how much asians take note of skin tone and texture because omg we do)

Character List

hello my sweet followers even though there is none of you yet,, I hope this storyline prospers into something great. I haven't really worked on the story much but here is the characters for now!

Ebele -22- She is a very beautiful and very dark skinned woman and is the toughest one around from what she knows. She is from Nigeria and has the accent as well. She is staying in an abandoned apartment complex with - and has known her since the bomb went off.

Ajit -19- He is a strong and tall guy from Bangladesh. He is a very secretive person and most find him sketchy. He travels around with Nari, for he knows her from the bomb shelter they stayed in together. He always feels as if he is the superior one due to his culture and what his father would tell him, but he has much to learn.

Yumi -20- She is a short Japanese woman and still has her accent. She enjoys listening to music often even though Ebele doesn't like it too much. She is one to collect things she thinks are cool or interesting looking. She normally scavenges for food while Ebele looks for fellow survivors and clothes and, on rare occasions, weapons. She has a fairy kei style and enjoys all the stuffed animals Ebele brings her.

Nari -17- She is an averge height chubby Korean girl. She is very out going yet very insecure about herself but doesn't like it when others are insecure about themselves. She is always one to compliment another- even when they are talking to someone else.

these are all the characters for now possible. there might be more introduced but that's only a possibility.

I will try to upload chapters as often as I can. once it (hopefully) gets more popular I will try to upload every week.

again, I get that I have yet to have any followers really but I will try to get someone to draw the characters.
