Gotta love the ominous bag of sweets labeled "Human" on the break table. Tbh its because I work in a place that supports animals, so they wanted folks to know it was for the people, not the animals.

Me, being absolutely foolish and thinking my insomnia surely won't throttle me tonight since I had a long and hot work day doing physical labor, and my body feels very exhausted: .... well fuck

Anyways, it 2:37am and my brain won't shut down even though I'm exhausted and the husb is snoring peacefully beside me. Our cat is also snoring at the foot of the bed.

Sabishii may not seem much larger when seen like this, but he's quite a bit bigger than Uri.

Sabishii calls Uri "Kinuko" at first due to him being so bright and sunny (and easily seen in the snow).

Sabishii may mean "lonely", and he may be at peace with that, but he isn't opposed to not being quite so lonely now that Uri is here.

I GOT THE JOB YIPPEE

It's almost midnight here and my first day is tomorrow and aaaaaggghhh the nerves be nerving and I cant sleeeeeeep

Interview tomorrow, which is wild since I haven't had to do an interview in almost 7 years ^^;;

But the company I worked for has been crumbling apart for a while now, and they ended up laying me off last Monday. All in all, I'm not upset by being let go, I am torn apart by having to leave my crew, though..

But hey, at least now I won't be an overworked, underpaid, not quite manager but expected to act as a manager.

I have high hopes for this new opportunity! And it'll be working for a company that supports the care of local cat shelters and clinics. Finally, my 5 year old version of me and his dreams of working with animals will be a possibility!

SO! I got the joy of taking my most wonderful partner to his first pride event and aaahhhhh I'm still very soft about it all!

There's this sense of like.. relief, I guess? But getting to see him surrounded by people who were there to celebrate our individualities and to show that even in hardship we are loved and respected here, was by far the most touching thing I've personally seen in a long time.

Joy, wistfulness of wishing this could have always been how it was, sorrow for seeing others so happily accepting when the past had shown the opposite.

There's just something so.. otherworldly about getting to see that happen. Watching the person you love finally see themselves represented, respected, and appreciated. It truly is like nothing I've experienced before, and I've personally gone to pride several times!

Anyways, we had snowcones and looked at the neat things around before having a burger and fry and headed home to melt. (It was very hot and I got sunburnt ^^;; dang dry Cali heat)

If you can safely, go to pride at least once. It may just be an otherworldly experience for you, too.
