The boy was feeling useless since they FAILED TO SAVE the creature. This was his first experience with seeing death firsthand — unsure how it was meant to feel. There was a mixture of various emotions, but the main one was mourning. He was sitting on a ledge, feet dangling off of the wall in the park. His signature leather jacket covering his torso, his family crest sewn on the back, but the rest of his outfit had been changed to civilian clothes. Conner hears someone approach him, but doesn’t turn to look. “I’m surprised anyone found me over here. I just need a distraction from everything.”
The surface had been plagued with far more destructive and less of a tragic ending such as this one. And just watching the entire team of familiar and unknown heroes, Kaldur found himself needing a bit of time to gather exactly what had transpired. The Atlantean rubs the nape of his neck, letting blonde waves fall beneath the gentle brush of his fingers. He was only here to respond. Keep people safe. Make sure he could defend and push back an attack if need be but something else happened here. So many things he didn’t comprehend and others he did. Heartache. Detachment. Isolation. All of which Kaldur overheard some of the field and tech responders had admitted.
“You alright up there?” Kaldur called down from the ground. Eyes were slow to rise, meeting Conner’s distant and withdrawn gaze. “Got a second to spill, big guy? You know I’m always a listening ear.” The park was strange at this time but he knew that it was one of the safer places to kind of--mentally unload.

ofwcndergirl:
“so – just to be clear here…” cassie started as she lowered herself to the ground from where she’d been flying above. for the most part, she had played her part in helping keep people away from the mass, using the aerial view to ensure no one was missed. part of her had kind of been hoping for a fight, and while no one was entirely sure how to fight a blob, she was about to start trying to figure it out. and then they heard the news. communication devices. “we’re supposed to try talking to this thing now?” talking it out wasn’t really one of her strong suits, she didn’t have the proper patience for it. “what are we supposed to say? excuse me, goopy, do you mind not chowing down on time square?”
“I’m not too sure but whatever it is, we have to make it fast.” Kaldur took a step, strafing toward Cassie. The markings upon his arms fading as the small wave of water seeps back into the sewer system. Fortunately, his small barricade keeping his sector free of civilians crossing a line of provisioned safety. He kept eyes upon before him. “Though, unless you’ve got the ability to communicate through alternative means, we’re probably better off attempting to keep the area clear and--,” Kaldur turned to face Cassie. His gaze never halts at her. He gives a swift pivot before double stepping back. “Maybe we better push this zone back?”

❌ —————— that might look like DUDLEY O'SHAUGHNESSY, but it’s really KALDUR'AHM | AQUALAD from EARTH-52. our records indicate that they are a(n) 25 year old ATLANTEAN using HE/HIM pronouns. unlike most HEROES, they HAVE THE HEART OF GOLD which makes them perfect for AQUAMAN FAMILY
Greetings and salutations. I bring to you another one of my favorite characters from the realm of mysticism we know as DC. If [we] are familiar with the newer season of Young Justice, you can see that our boy, Kaldur’ahm is taking up the mantle Aquaman. While I may borrow some bits of inspiration, most of his information will be drawn from the comic's origin and the beloved Teen Titans.
AQUALAD REAL NAME: Kaldur'ahm ALIAS: Jackson Hyde RELATIVES: Black Manta [Father], Lucia Hyde [Mother] RACE: Human-Atlantean Hybrid IDENTITY: Secret ALIGNMENT: Good OCCUPATION: Vigilante CHARACTERISTICS GENDER: Male HEIGHT: 6'1" | 185.42 cm WEIGHT: 190lbs | 86 kg EYE COLOR: Blue HAIR COLOR: Blond POWERS ATLANTEAN HYBRIDIZED PHYSIOLOGY: Due to generations of living under the sea, Atlanteans have evolved greatly. Even hybrids are far superior to any other human.AMPHIBIOUS NATURE/TRANSFORMATION: Jackson learned he can breathe underwater indefinitely. Having been born and spent his entire life above the water, he's easily adapted to prolonged periods without it. He even has no problem breathing and speaking while submerged. ENHANCED SENSES: A thin invisible membrane cover Aqualad's eyes that allows Jackson to see perfectly in the pitch-blackness of the ocean. His eyes also allow him to pick up energy patterns similar to wearing infrared goggles, he displayed this ability when he tracked Superboy by following his solar energy pattern. Jackson's hearing is far greater than any human's. SUPERHUMAN DURABILITY: Aqualad is able to survive the crushing depths of the ocean, where 1086 pounds of force per square inch are applied. SUPERHUMAN REFLEXES SUPERHUMAN SPEED SUPERHUMAN STAMINIA SUPERHUMAN STRENGTH: Hyde was strong enough to cleave through a steel street light with his water sword. HYDROKINESIS: Jackson is able to control water as the power was inherited from his mother, it is unknown how she acquired these powers as they are usually reserved for Xebelian royalty. Jackson is an amateur at shaping water, he usually focuses it into his waterbearers and uses them as weapons. However, he has still shown some impressive feats, such as when he constructed a giant spear to kill the sea beast guarding the Black Pearl. ELECTROKINESIS: Aqualad's ability to emit electricity most likely came from his mother. He is able to emit concentrated beams of electricity from his body. EQUIPMENT WATERBEARERS: Aqualad possesses a pair of waterbearers which were given to him by Robin. These hilts allow Jackson to possess more control on his hydrokinetic abilities. He often uses the hilts to channel water into the shape of a weapon, creating something like a water sword or mace. STEALTH SUIT: Aqualad wears a stealth suit that functions both underwater and on land. It is skintight and allows him maximum mobility while in action.
