The first set at 8pm will feature original works by all members of the group. The second set at 9:30pm will feature the group interpreting the music from Andrew Hill's album Smoke Stack, a recording which also explored the same instrumentation.

Music and the arts have always been a lifeline for all of us to connect, share, and explore our humanity. During these challenging times, this exploration is even more important, especially as we will need to find ways to connect with each other, help each other, learn about ourselves, and express our creativity. . I'm available as always, and during this moment I will be continuing to offer my music teaching online, as I have been for many years. Please consider taking lessons/classes with me or other musicians. We can help each other to continue to weather this storm with creativity, positivity, and connection. . This summer 2020 I’m continuing to offer regular private lessons; pianists and non pianists are all welcome. . In addition to offering lessons, I’m starting a weekly listening class (this class is for everyone, not just professionals) focusing on different ways to listen to great artists. The first series of classes will focus on one of my all time favorite artists - Thelonious Monk. . Last but not least, I’m offering a 5 day jazz piano intensive tentatively scheduled for July 20 through July 24. This will be an online workshop, and the plan is to do 4 hours a day for 5 days and to limit the number of participants so everyone can get a lot of focused attention. .
