fucking sucks that so much discrimination against disabled people is so good at framing itself as "in our best interests" or as "people just trying to be nice" that the moment you complain about it you feel like an insane asshole who doesn't want other people to "try their best" to "be generous". and then you take a step back and it's like. to be clear they were violating my autonomy whilst being condescending about it why am I supposed to act like I should be grateful for that
