Latest finished traditional sculpture. Sculpted with Sculpey Living Doll Polymer Clay and painted with Reaper Master Series Paints. : 3 Sculpting timelapse will be up on my YouTube and linked here eventually. Always takes a long time to go through all that footage and edit it though. Spent most of the month on her and think she came out pretty decent though. She can stand on her own too which I found really impressive : D

Was perusing a local arts and crafts store after work today with a friend. Picked up a few different paints by a few different brands that looked neat that I wanted to try out for some of my sculptures sometime. Got a gold glitter paint by FolkArt. Wildly unimpressive. Just massive chunks of gold glitter with clear glue. Not at all what I was expecting so that was a drag. Looked great in the bottle but not in application. Tried putting it on top of some of my MSP Reaper Dragon Gold paint too to see if it could really add anything to it. Didn't look that good either. Took forever to dry. Picked up some extreme sheen metallic burgandy paint I was really excited about because looked great on the sticker and bottle. Also underwhelming. Just looked like any glossy burgandy paint. Didn't have good metallic reflectivity at all. Took insanely long to dry. Picked up some Color Shift paint from Folk Art too. Preview sticker looked incredible, picked up so many colors from the surrounding environment and light. Instead it looked like a pretty dull metallic/silver. The light def had a different color to it, but not at all good enough to replace any metallic silver or steel paints. Also not at all as incredible as the model color shift brands look. Lastly got some Artist's Loft neon pink. This one, which was much cheaper and came with much more, actually looked incredible. It's legit as bright and neon hot pink as a dry-erase marker. They have a lot of different neon colors in the line too which is awesome. And I mixed a little bit with some white air dry clay and that color and neonness stayed. That brands acrylic paint far exceeded my expectations and it's the cheaper brand. I'm def going to be picking more of that up JUST to mix with clays because again it looked incredible. So, I guess not everything I got today was a complete bust. Know not to bother with Deco Art or Folk Art paints now too I guess.

Released an Essentials brush pack on my Gumroad to grab for free a while ago, mainly to just share my custom airbrush and mixer for CSP because trying to get smooth gradients in that program is a nightmare. It's about that time of year again though where I go through my brushes and reorganize them. Think I'll throw up a pack for hair brushes and fur brushes for PS that have color dynamics preloaded so they're easy to use sometime soon. They'd be good brushes a younger me would have wanted to find too. I'll either make a post with the link or a video demonstrating them sometime when I do.

This is just my own method that I've developed over the years to streamline and help manage the time and work flow of heavily rendered pieces while taking advantage of the tools available and developed for it in the software. Wish that site was everything everyone was hyping it up to be. Wasn't any less dead for my art than my twitter or facebook or instagram ever was. What a waste. Shouldn't have been hopeful at all.

Moon Fox OC Traditional Clay Sculpture.

Welp. I finished her up tonight : 3 so here she is. Clay used was Magico Super Lightweight Air Dry Clay in white and paints used were my Reaper Master Series Paints. Colors used were Dragon White, Dragon Black, Canary Yellow, Cats-Eye Green, Dragon Gold, Pale Flesh, Dragon Red, Swarthy Flesh, and Marigold Yellow, all from the Bones Ultra-Coverage #1 Set of 54. Oh, and a Hot Pink Quartet dry-erase marker. I recorded a lot of the work on her so a sculpting timelapse for her will appear on my YouTube after I have all the footage compiled, cut down and sped up. She's broken up into 5 different recording sessions, each 3-5 hours long so it's def going to be a bit of a while to do though still. I also have a 7 day work week now so yeah... I'm sure it'll show up on my channel when everyone's already forgotten about her lol

Finally finished my tiny Pochita figurine this morning : 3 started it months ago now. Made with BOHS foam clay, and metallic air dry resin clay for the chainsaw blades because I did not want to paint them.

Paints used were Reaper Master Series paints, as usual. Colors were volcanic orange, dragon white, dragon black and whatever that metallic silver was called that I don't feel like digging through stuff to find out right now.

Also as usual, he's friggin' tiny boy so my phone is blowing him out as much as possible and making him look like garbage texture-wise. He actually looks pretty darn uniform and smooth IRL. Oh well.
