This is the image I decided to go with as my lead shot as it was both relevant to the St Piran’s Day parade and the Russia/Ukraine conflict, allowing it to also be applied to bigger more relevant stories.
200 Word Caption:
A lone man joined the parade of locals, walking the streets of Falmouth for St Piran’s Day 2022, with a Ukrainian flag in his hands with a Cornish flag over his back. The event takes place in the town every year to honour the patron saint of Cornwall, St Piran, and also marks Cornwall’s national day. However, the addition this year of a Ukrainian flag to the swarms of Cornish flags in not a normal occurrence but comes in response to the conflict currently unfolding in Ukraine. On 24th February 2022 Russian troops began their invasion of neighbouring country, and former Soviet Union territory, Ukraine. This event has sparked global outrage towards Russia and in particular the man behind the whole thing, Russian President Vladimir Putin. Now counties around the world are coming together, in solidarity, to show their support for Ukraine and the Ukrainian people, who have had their lives so mercilessly disrupted by this conflict. Countries such as the UK, the USA and France have been sending lethal aid in response to help equip the Ukrainian armed forces against their invaders; as well as implementing tough economic sanctions designed to cripple the Russian economy.

For this genre I will be taking pictures of the Cornish beer, Tribute. I will be doing my shoot down on Gylly beach. The main idea behind the shoot will be taking the beer and taking shots of it in the sand and the sea to try and make it look as appetising as possible

PEP114 - User Defined Genre
My idea for this genre is to explore the rise in modern day witchcraft and paganism. For this shoot I will be taking a model to local nature reserve, Kennal Vale. There we will be doing several portrait shots of the model in “witchy” clothing in amongst the trees and the abandoned buildings; posing with items like a candle and a lantern.

Jasmine Mills
I have been in contact with local painter Jasmine Mills, who has a studio in Krowji (in Redruth). I have arranged to go meet her there on 03/12/21.
For this shoot I will be booking out a full frame DSLR and the profoto battery flashes. I have decided to take portable flash because I can not guarantee the quality of the light, also the shoot is in the afternoon so this time of year there is not much natural light at that time.

Beach Shoot Outcome
Overall, I am very happy with how the shoot at the beach went. I got the shots I was intending on getting, I was confident using the equipment and the posing of and dressing of the models looks amazing!!

Shoot Inspiration
After speaking with Lottie, these are some images that she found that relate to my night beach shoot. The top image (girl on the chair) reflects the way I want to pose the models and the three images underneath it represent how I want to light the shoot.
I am going for a high end, Vogue inspired, fashion shoot and want to use quite bold lighting to really make my subjects stand out.

5 Picture Story Idea 1
I quite like the idea of using two models for this shoot. So I have come up with a narrative for the story. The picture series will look at the consequences of marriage. So to do this I will have two brides one dressed in a traditional white gown (to represent all the happy things a person will be looking forward to) and the the other model will contrast her by wearing a black dress (representing all the things that a person my fear when they get married).
In terms of my technical set up for this I am interested in letting this become part of the frame. So what I mean by this is taking a shot where you can see the lights and reflectors that are lighting the scene, to give the impression that you are the photographer stood watching this scene unfold in front of you.
