These are my submissions for the doorstep portrait... I used these outdoor shoots because I really like the openness and I could interact with the children to get there atttention better than just turn up outside there house and shove a camera in there face, so getting the children onside was a bonus and so was the dog in the shot .

This is my final A3 canvas for brief Beauty in the Binal... I really like these as it shows how life is at the mo ent and how quiet things are these days. I chose to shoot at night as it gives it a different perspective from shooting during the day and shows how well the places are lit up at night.

GRID SYSTEM RESEARCH.

Grid system is another way of doing street photography. Staying in the same location and taking shots from different perspectives over a period of time. There are many ways to do this and it can be as open as possible or discreate . There are no set rules to street photography and anything can be photographed without peoples permission just as long as the photos are not for sale. Most street photography is shot in black and white and i want to do this in colour. Capturing people going about there daily life makes you think about how there day is going and what and where have they come from or where they are going. Workers in the public service are good to photograph like workmen and police as well as street entertainers that are plentiful in Glasgow.

I plan to shoot this solely with a 50mm and isolate the subjects and do it all hand held. weather is looking a bit better to get this completed but we are in the middle of a second lock down so there will be less people about Buchanan street where I plan to shoot .

A Sense of place ( research )

The term sense of place has been used in many different ways. It is a multidimensional, complex construct used to characterize the relationship between people and spatial settings. It is a characteristic that some geographic places have and some do not, while to others it is a feeling or perception held by people (not by the place itself). It is often used in relation to those characteristics that make a place special or unique, as well as to those that foster a sense of authentic human attachment and belonging. Others, such as geographer Yi-Fu Tuan, have pointed to senses of place that are not "positive," such as fear. Some students and educators engage in "place-based education" in order to improve their "sense(s) of place," as well as to use various aspects of place as educational tools in general. The term is used in urban and rural studies in relation to place-making and place-attachment of communities to their environment or homeland.
Ansul Adams is a ambassador at documenting places that people had not been able to visit and showed the world his photographs of the world famous American wilderness landscapes.
I am thinking about doing my local park where I spent most of lockdown each day for nearly 6 months that has opened my eyes to the wildlife that was around me that i had taken for granted. It had given me hours of enjoyment from dog walking to photographing and documenting the park from season to season. Seeing these changes where really special and i had never seen these transformations in such detail.

SOMETHING TOLD.

Something told is a new brief that has to be a still life photograph captured in natural light that tells a story. I have looked at images and found a few paintings that can easily be reproduced to photograph. the first two are as what I would say are traditional paintings of showing wealth and class and the other is a more modern take . https://www.messynessychic.com/2019/04/05/the-secret-language-of-still-lifes

The first image could be a collection of toys from the photographers childhood and has kept them for a few years as most of the toys and stuff look vintage.
The other two seem to emulate someone who is royalty or famous one being Beethoven and the other having miniature photos of Charles 1 and Henry IV .
