Okay... day 6 and I just got back on the writing machine. This is what I want to do as a living, despite what is happen around me, I got to be true to this.

Hi Jenna! Hopefully I’m not being too annoying but I have a question.. an author’s brand is supposed to like be easy to see and be uniform in a sense. The thing is, I like two genres that are kind of polar opposites? Fantasy and Psychological Fiction similar to Girl on the Train. How do I decide which direction to go in?

Lots of authors write a variety of genres, including myself. Your brand is not your genre. Fantasy authors don’t wield wands, horror authors don’t murder people (at least I hope not). Your brand is just your style, your platform, your “feel,” so to speak. And while you may have to do extra work in reaching multiple target audiences, since you are writing two somewhat different genres, that doesn’t mean you have to change your brand altogether. Apple makes laptops and watches, but everyone still recognizes their products, because the style is the same. I hope this makes sense.

I've been writing a urban fantasy novel since I was in High School. I've been on an off with my writing ever since graduation which was 10 years ago but recent life realization has brought back the spark I've been lacking and I'm determined to create a career in this field. So I'm revisiting my Urban Fantasy story and plotting it out. But first I have do deconstruct it.

I welcome anyone and everyone in joining me on my path towards starting my writing career through the birth of this Novel I am recreating.
