The InstaTok famous West coast canyon. Doomed to be a tourist hotspot because a few big accounts found it and shared its location for clicks and 💵
It’s only a matter of time before someone gets seriously injured standing on the slippery rock for the Instagram pose or from rock fall by venturing too far in. Then it’ll be closed off from everyone.
Let’s keep some of your local secrets just for the locals people.

A nice evening at Lake Heron yesterday with the 6x17. Shot four rolls, two colour and two B&W - which I’ll process later this week.

The Historic Hyde railhouse
Known for being close to the location of NZs second worse rail disaster in 1943 (at the time it had the title of worst) where 21 passengers lives were ended and a further 47 injured of the 113 people on board.
The rail house is no longer situated on an active railway, instead is a stop along with Otago Central Rail Trail for cyclists, runners and Horseback riders

Photographed both of these historic railway buildings on digital last year, and the smaller one on 6x9 back in January. Finally happy to have committed both to film in panoramic 6x17 format.
There are a few more just like these dotted around Central Otago, I’m sure I’ll find my way to them with the Pano cam before long!

A couple of 6x17 panoramas from the new camera. Pretty happy with how these turned out. The other two rolls of film were disappointing 😂
Stoked to have a 6x17 camera to shoot with, film panoramic format has been a want for many years.

Left to rot.
An old bus in the middle of nowhere slowly decaying. Not a bad foreground subject for a wee bit of Milkyway action on the X-M5.
A semi-technical shot to execute, 22 frames to piece this together. A 20 image stack for the sky to help reduce noise, a blue hour shot for the bus and a final shot as it got dark to light the interior with a small flashlight. I pointed the light at the roof of the bus to allow for some reflected light spill onto the tussock surrounding it.
