Journal entry ?: Thoughts about diaper training

My Bambinos have just arrived so I thought now might be a good idea to talk about some things I’ve done and ideas I’ve had about getting used to diapers.

Consistency. If you want to diaper train, you have to wear diapers even if you don’t want to, which will probably be about 30% of the time. If you need to wear underwear, consider cloth training pants and bikin-cut plastic pants instead.

Persistence. You need to work your way into peeing wherever, whenever. This means learning to leak and learning to wet your pants. It doesn’t necessarily mean having to humiliate yourself - I took a while to be able to wet my diapers in public but I spent almost all of that time at home or otherwise secluded.

If I’m home alone, I can’t use the toilet. I have to either use a diaper or wet my pants. It becomes a lot easier to wet in diapers under almost any circumstances when the alternative is wetting your pants under those circumstances.

If I wake up alone and need to pee, I have to wet the bed. Again - it instantly made it a lot easier to wet my diapers in bed when the alternative was washing my sheets.

I hold myself to an even stricter version of this - if I know my house is only gonna contain me for at least the next 24 hours, I can’t mess in the toilet either - diapers are the only option (unless I’m out of diapers - in which case I can use the toilet to mess, but still have to wet my pants).

Objectivity. Try looking after yourself as if you were a carer looking after you. For example - check yourself every two hours. If you’re not on the verge of leaking (like, already have small wet spots on your clothes) then, you can’t change, even if you’re reasonably sure that in the next two hours you’re gonna leak. Make yourself pee even though you know you’re gonna leak. Make yourself pee even as you’re leaking - you can’t stop until you’re on empty. Then you get to change. This way you get to know exactly how much your diaper can take and whether you would feel safer/better with more padding. You also learn that leaks are not the end of the world and not a reason to stop wearing or using diapers.

Protection. Make it as easy as possible for yourself to wear and use diapers. Here are some suggestions:

Wear tanktop onesies. They avoid the problem that conventional onesies have - namely of being an always tucked-in T-shirt, which is very unusual. An always-tucked-in undershirt looks a little bit strange, but markedly less.

As I keep saying, wear waterproof pants. And wash them regularly - I’ve had to throw a few out lately because they were starting to pick up a smell.

If you’re having trouble wetting in bed, try cloth diapers. A lot of the difficulty with wetting in bed is the fear that you’ll leak out of the top or sides during the night. Cloth diapers tend to wrap around your equipment and hold it in one place if pinned tightly enough, and cover more area so that it’s doubtful you’ll be able to pee out of them. The impenetrable moisture barrier of plastic pants is also a great help.

Get a waterproof sheet. It’s very hard to wet in bed when you know you will stain your mattress in the process. Sheets are much easier to wash and thus a lot less of a bother.

Get a waterproof-backed bed pad. I don’t know where these are supposed to go on the bed but I have one, which I normally put on top of the sheets, and it’s made me a lot more comfortable wetting in bed. I can also pick it up and cart it around if I need an underpad for a chair, for example, or a changing pad to use when out and about.

Inserting a suppository in your naughty little bottom, taping up your diaper, and plopping you in front of a mirror for a well deserved timeout. Standing behind you and spanking you if you try to look away from the mirror. Smiling and watching as you're forced to watch yourself in the mirror as you helplessly mess your diaper.

Serves you right, hmm? Maybe next time, you'll remember who's in control. Now, spread those legs, Mommy wants to play with that messy diaper. And don't you dare think about looking away from that mirror, or next time she'll make you watch yourself take an enema.
