Optimizing ALM with Modern Financial Software Systems
Asset liability management (ALM) strategies are hot topics of discussion in the financial world. Combining aspects of risk management and long-term planning, these complex analytic processes are intended to ensure the right balance between risk and reward and to maintain a secure core of financially stable assets for maximum liquidity in challenging economic times. Some of the most common factors involved in ALM calculations include the following:
• Risks associated with currency value shifts, which are of critical importance for financial firms and companies that do business on an international level • Cash flow risks that may arise when companies and financial institutions fail to maintain adequate liquidity for outgoing payments and obligations • Interest rate shifts that can damage the profitability of the company • Credit risks, especially those associated with investments and defaults in the financial marketplace
In many cases, companies can benefit significantly from incorporating advanced ALM and financial analysis software tools into their overall strategic planning process.
Outsourcing ALM
Choosing to outsource ALM analysis tasks can make good financial sense for smaller companies with limited IT budgets or larger firms with extensive portfolios. In both cases, these financial entities can achieve greater insights and more effective management of assets and liabilities by opting for software-as-a-service (SaaS) or infrastructure-as-a-service (IaaS) solutions available in the advanced information technology marketplace. Depending on the size of the company and its specific set of needs, outsourcing IT support for balancing histories, analyzing maturity and re-pricing and charting accounts can provide added support and increased productivity for the entire financial organization.
Creating an Integrated ALM Policy
These advanced software systems and the companies that provide them can also offer significant support for creating a holistic ALM policy that incorporates these vital elements:
• Establishing parameters for acceptable interest rate risk • Limiting currency risk • Balancing types of assets to ensure optimal growth and profit • Putting hard limits on liabilities to ensure ongoing liquidity • Monitoring maturities and terms • Setting limits and policies for derivatives and other investments • Creating a reporting system that offers real information to stakeholders
The advanced financial reporting functions of modern ALM reporting software systems can establish a solid foundation for an integrated policy that encompasses all of these essential components and allows greater control for financial firms in the modern competitive marketplace.
Looking Beyond ALM
In many cases, firms like Cisco or ProfitStars can offer a more comprehensive set of software features that go well beyond ALM considerations. Implementing these systems can allow for greater insights and improved interactivity between various functions within the financial organization. Along with up-to-the-minute tracking of currency values and interest rates, software platforms from major companies can often incorporate budgeting features, profitability optimizing features and margin maximization tools that deliver added value in volatile economic conditions.
By taking advantage of the increased speed and accuracy of modern financial software packages, both small and large companies can boost their profitability for major stakeholders. These platforms can deliver the power and interoperability needed to help financial firms stay competitive, even in challenging economic times.
Joshua works at a large financial institution, where asset liability management is a major concern. With the help of software solutions, he and his team are able to manage these and many other issues to reduce risk and maintain profitability. He recommends such programs to others in this field.

How To Manage Your Time On Twitter Efficiently
If you think you’re spending too much time on Twitter in an attempt to increase the awareness of potential customers for your brand, you should consider the following ideas. They will help you minimize the amount of time using the social network without compromising the results.
Send Automated Responses
You will often realize that you do not have enough time to respond to every single private message received on the social network. If you find yourself in this situation, a good idea would be to create automated responses. You can use tools like SocialOomph, Ping.fm or TweetDeck, which can send automated messages thanking new followers, for example. At the same time, you can use these tools to post the same message on multiple platforms, including Facebook and LinkedIn, and you can even schedule your messages to be published at a certain time.
Follow Specific Hashtags and Keywords
Instead of subscribing to accounts that you only visit once, you should better search for the people you really want to follow using hashtags and specific keywords. In this way, you will only interact with people whose interests are relevant to your business.
Re-promote Older Blog Posts
If you have a company blog then you certainly have a lot of valuable content that you only tweeted about once. From time to time, it is recommended that you remind your subscribers about your best blog posts or articles.
Share Responsibility
If you own a company and want a better online presence on Twitter, you should hire multiple employees to manage your presence on the social network. Dividing the work can be based on specific responsibilities or on discussion topics.
Plan Less, Innovate More
Replace endless social network strategy sessions with concrete activities. Having your employees spend time creating a blog post or an article would be more efficient than making them think about strategies that will rarely be used.
Buy real Twitter followers
Let’s face it takes a long time to build followers organically and we recommend you use this method along with all the others for maximum performance

What Do We Know about Visitors when Using Google Analytics
Although it is very popular and extremely useful, not all users know exactly what Google Analytics is good for. Presented as part of the “Google Trinity” along with Google Trends and Webmasters Tools in this TenMania article on SEO tools bloggers should use, Google Analytics is based on cookies set in the browser. By cookie, we understand a particular text sent by a server to a browser and sent back unchanged by the browser each time you access that server. It contains only data, not code (executable instructions), therefore a cookie cannot delete or read anything from the user’s computer.
As we stated above, Google Analytics provides numerous useful information and they are constantly changing the algorithm in order to respond to users’ needs. For example, in 2013, the search engine changed the algorithm 15 times and in 2012, it was updated 37 times.
Here is what you are able to find out about your visitors when using Google Analytics.
Language & Location
These indicators help you find out where your visitors come from and what language they have set. Note that you can speculate that the English browser users know this language, but this indicator does not help very much if you do not associate it with others, such as traffic sources to see if the browser language or location really influence the behavior of users.
New vs. Returning
If a user returns to a site, it can mean that he has found there useful information or has had previous enjoyable experiences. If he does not return, maybe the site was not important to the user.
Analyzing a certain period of time, the value of a site is given by the number of those who return to the site, simply because this indicator defines the site as a true community.
Browser, Operating System & Device
These indicators can be helpful when, for example, due to certain technical specifications of browsers, operating systems or devices, display problems may occur, which could cause a higher rate of abandonment of the site. In order not to lose visitors because of this, these indicators must be analyzed over a period of time. For example, if you do not have a mobile version of the site and you see that the dropout rate coming from mobile phones is big, then it would be a good idea to develop a mobile version of your site as well.
Traffic Sources
Traffic sources are a very important indicator, because we are interested in bringing quality traffic sources. Traffic sources may be direct (users who write the web address directly into the address bar), organic (searches in search engines), from social networks and other sites (referrals).
Google Search Queries
Using a report from Google Analytics, you can analyze the number of times the site appeared in organic results, keywords that appear on that site and average position.
Content
In the Content area, using Google Analytics you can see which pages the visitors viewed and what they did there. You can see if there was a dropout rate for certain pages or if the sources of traffic to those pages bring quality traffic.
How much is this service?
Although you are probably familiar with the idea that Google Analytics is free, there is one condition: the site must have under 5 million hits monthly or own active AdWords campaigns.

Know Your Cloud Vendor: Lessons Learned from the Nirvanix Shutdown
Imagine your client lists, templates and entire database lost in one fell swoop. This fear is the exact reason IT managers and CIOs outsource data storage to the cloud.
Yet that decision backfired on customers of a hosting service called Nirvanix in September of this year. With only a month’s notice, clients were told that the business was going under and were left on a nail-biting scramble to recover or move their data. Although some see this as evidence of cloud computing’s lack of reliability, this failure doesn’t reflect the future of cloud storage; big-name providers are unlikely to go under any time soon, but this Nirvanix bankruptcy indicates certain flaws clients should be aware of when choosing a vendor.
Choose carefully
First, it’s important to do due diligence before selecting a hosting provider. Although no one could have foreseen what happened at Nirvanix, choosing an established company with a respectable client list increases the chances that valuable data will be safe in their hands. Furthermore, the IT department must read the contract carefully. Provisions for data loss or even a shutdown mean that the vendor is likely to have a plan in place and understand the importance of giving clients adequate time to make arrangements.
Don’t get tied down
Because no vendor is bulletproof, the best strategy is to avoid vendor lock-in, no matter which provider has won the contract. To avoid any sudden halts in business activity, if anything happens to the data host, many CIOs are beginning to plan for at least a partial back-up. Cloud applications that are loosely coupled, service oriented, and up to Web and marketplace standards are the most likely to bounce back from these kinds of problems.
Have a backup plan
A cloud exit strategy, like a fire escape plan, should not be neglected. By planning for the worst-case scenario, a smart business can stay ahead of the curve and avoid unnecessary stress in the future. A plan for migration doesn’t indicate distrust or doubts for the host provider; rather, it proves that the IT staff are savvy enough to have a plan for any situation. The key is to make risk mitigation a priority by having a plan in place for where data can be kept. Even a file on hand tracking the amount and type of data stored, along with the contact information for a backup provider, can have a significant impact.
After the Nirvanix hailstorm, it’s unlikely that anyone will find themselves faced with a “two weeks to leave” dilemma anytime soon. But it’s just as certain that prices and needs will change, upper management will hire new faces, teams will need more support and customers will just change their minds. Being totally dependent on a cloud storage provider without any company backup strategies in place in case something unforeseen occurs is as risky as it is naive. Choosing a trustworthy cloud storage vendor, keeping abreast of trends and the company’s needs and having a plan for migration will help prevent your business from being vulnerable to a provider’s unreliability.

New Post has been published on http://www.jayandfrank.com/nosql-structured-and-reliable/
NoSQL - Structured And Reliable
In simple terms, NoSQL means the lack of structured data, which was the hallmark of previous forms of database management systems. Nowadays, you will rarely come across relational data, and this makes the use of traditional database management systems (DBMS) unthinkable in the modern era. Secondly, this name is derived from the fact that SQL language is not used as part of the database management system. One thing that needs mentioning is that relational database models are not ideal for all situations, and is part of the reason behind NoSQL’s popularity.
Older Database Management Systems Struggle with Unstructured Data
Processing unstructured data is not easy for older types of database management systems. If you use some of the old systems to capture huge amounts of data available today, it becomes much harder for you to work and provide solutions to your clients in real time. The dynamism and agility of the database management system is something that is equally important, and none is better in this regard than NoSQL. This type of database tool is highly effective under the current environment where phenomena such as cloud computing is the norm.
Whenever you deal with messy, unstructured and unpredictable data, and this goes for almost all types of organizations and companies in the modern world, the best tool to help you capture each important event or piece of information is NoSQL. It is highly adaptable to the ever-changing environment, where you need to capture data even as it keeps changing, without missing any detail. The world may be under the assumption that database management systems can only function with SQL, but NoSQL has proved that this does not always hold true for all situations.
NoSQL Eliminates Over-reliance on SQL
Over-reliance on SQL to manipulate data is not effective at all times. The only negative that anyone can point out with NoSQL is the fact that it may be unable to offer much help where ACID is concerned. However, it cancels this negative trait by its architecture, which can handle any faults within the system, and provides a much-improved distribution. Its taxonomy is also quite effective in providing support to other important components of modern database management systems such as key-value store, BigTable, document store and graph databases.
NoSQL is a High Performance System
No other form of database management system performs anywhere close to the level of NoSQL. It is all about high performance, where speed and accuracy are given greater priority. Its scalability is among the best in the market at the moment. NoSQL also offers a higher degree of availability to regular users of database management systems to ensure that it captures data right when it is supposed to, and does not miss anything. It enjoys a very rich query language that is easy to master and used to capture data within a given period.
There is no doubt that NoSQL is what modern database management systems need, especially where real-time engagement with customers is mandatory. It solves all the problems that the SQL-based systems were unable to tackle in the past. Companies can keep both SQL and NoSQL based systems and work with them depending on the amount of data they need to capture, although a highly skilled workforce will be required to use and maintain them.

Are You a Sales Robot?
Your sales person wants to sell something but customers are still confused. Is it only the confusion or are you taking one sales opportunity too seriously or may be – not too seriously? We don’t intend to confuse you. All that we are trying to suggest in this case is that maybe you are acting like a sales robot and that’s a serious concern if you have really become one. So what exactly is it about the sales industry and particularly the sales that are good enough to put you on guard? Should the sales persons be little more careful about suggesting the customers and making them feel that they are literally helping them with their product? Where is it that they are going wrong? Can you really relate? Well, if you can’t, then we are here to help your analysis and introspection take a boost.
If you are working with the sales industry, you can take some of these tips into your work as implementation and who knows, they can help you get better results in no time.
Here is what you can do to actually prevent yourself from becoming a sales robot, something that you might as well repent in the time to come.
Know your lead first
Find out who you are supposed to lead, what your competitors are doing and what makes them different and preferable in the industry. You should also consider looking for the pain points of the individual. Know more about the behaviour of the user online so that you can further use them to the best of your advantage.
Making your way around the cold call is equally point
A lot of sales persons are least interested in taking a positive take on the cold calls. This is where they are going wrong. Make sure that you learn to respond to the cold calls and don’t take them for granted. You can tweet your customers or even reach them by commenting on their blog posts. The process of exchanging warm calls may soon follow.
Don’t just assume you know everything about your customers’ wants
You may have to research well to know what exactly your customers want. You can’t assume all of that every single time.
Don’t tweet stuffs that speak of sales ONLY
This is like jumping into deep waters even after knowing you are going to get drowned and lose life! If you say that you have got an amazing product and literally ask people to take an action, no one is going to do that. Don’t just get the sales message pushed into their heads right away. Don’t also get them beaten into their head. Let them take their own decisions; all you have got to do is to persuade. It is better to first focus on building trust and that too with the right audience. This can be done by delivering useful and informational content and also through interaction.
Make use of your CRM platform
If you are in the sales industry, you have to ensure that your game is top-notch. You can’t afford to make mistakes that easily or else you are done with the game by letting someone else emerge as a winner. You must know about the lead well ahead in advance and you must know whether you have contacted a particular lead anytime before.
If one customer is being contacted by two sales persons in the same day from the same company, it is going to create embarrassment and even annoyance. Place it well even if that is to be done. Make sure that you use your CRM platform so that you can come to know if anyone else from the team has already contacted the customer.
Finally, you should make a point to start getting into a habit of listening with patience. Listening is one of the best tools you can have in the sales industry. You should learn to focus on the benefits and not on the features only. Also, marketing and sales are closely connected with each other. If the both are not connected with each other then the results can be disastrous. Holding meetings between the two departments in the same sales company can push you an inch closer to achieving your common goals.

Is Drupal Right for My Business?
Open source CMS Drupal may not receive as much attention as WordPress — in part due to its steeper learning curve — but it can be an indispensable tool for managing large business websites. Drupal is flexible, powerful and customizable. While you won’t learn it as fast as you might WordPress, you’ll find that it’s easier to customize a Drupal site once you know your way around it than it’s to customize a WordPress site. Learn more about Drupal to decide if it’s the right CMS for your business.
Drupal: What it does and who uses it
Drupal is an open source content management system that’s flexible and scalable. Businesses can use Drupal to build Web pages and set user permissions. For example, a user might decide that employees can access the blog portion of the site, but can’t make changes to static pages. This spreads website work around, so that more employees can contribute to the website in a responsible manner. Features offered include:
User administration
Publishing
News aggregation
Microblogging
Discussion functionality via wiki, forum or other module
Metadata creation
XML publishing
Ecommerce
If you would like a website platform that can support a site through its evolution, Drupal is a good choice. However, if you know from the outset that you’re establishing a website for one purpose only — e.g., you only ever want a blog or an ecommerce site — then Drupal may not be the best choice. In that case, you would be better off utilizing a platform intended solely for blogging or ecommerce.
While all sorts of industries use Drupal, the platform has a larger number of users in the community, ecommerce, entertainment, education, media, publishing and technology sectors.
Use cases for Drupal
Knowing more about specific Drupal use cases can help you decide if the platform is right for you. While the platform is extremely customizable, these particular situations work very well with Drupal.
News site or magazine: Because of its ability to foster discussion, support the collaboration of many different users and support many different types of media, Drupal makes a good choice for news or magazine sites. The New York Observer uses Drupal for its website.
Video or image sharing platform: For the same reasons that Drupal is ideal for news sites, it also makes a good video or image sharing platform. MTV UK chose Drupal for its site. Of course, there are other complications to creating your own video sharing site, such as the need for a large server. Images require less space than video, but still need attention.
Microblogging site: If you need a microblog leading up to your product or brand launch, Drupal can let you create your own mini Twitter. Of course, Drupal can also accommodate long form blogging.
File storage: If you’re after a secure and customizable file storage site, Drupal allows you full control over such a site, compared to existing client file management options like box.net.
The CMS is free, so you can test out Drupal’s functionality by building your own sandbox site. Should you decide to continue with Drupal, find a full-featured Drupal host and get connected to the CMS’s robust user community that can help get you started on training, site development and customization.

Develop an Understanding About Aluminum Core PCB
The acronym PCB stands for Printed Circuit Board which is an extremely useful electronic component. This component has been extremely successful in making businesses run smoothly. Also known as Metal Printed Boards, these PCBs are very functional product in the industry related to power-supply. However, the users have developed some new applications for these Printed Circuit Boards. At present, these boards are also used in high brightness LED industry. These Printed Circuit Boards are available in many types and these types mainly depend upon the materials with which they are usually made up of. However, it is worth mentioning that these are known for outstanding electrical insulation, amazing machine performance, and excellent thermal conductivity.
At present, the best PCB is available in two different coatings. These are mainly available with aluminum and copper traces. However, you must notice that the traces are usually laid on one side only but the boards with double side coating are also available these days. The demand of both single sided printed circuit board and double sided printed circuit board is rising very sharply these days. The technique behind the use of the PCB is quite good and it supports many technical areas. The manufacturers put a thin layer of conductive material between the copper foil and metal base. This arrangement reduces the the heat off the circuit whenever the electricity is likely to increase it.
After the successful use of the aluminum core PCB in electrical and electronic arrangements, it is now the automobile industry and RF companies are searching the possibilities of using this in the benefit of their products. The chances are positive as well. As far as the initial indications are concerned, they refer more to the single sides printed circuit board as it is more efficient in handling thermal conduction than other types of PCB. This PCB is more cost effective as well.
Due to their varied utilities and capabilities of handling more loads, these PCBs are used in the following areas:
Military and Defense: Power supply, Running Lights, Ignition system, Products used for
Power distribution, Systems for Power transmission, and also for sharper flash lights.
Automobile units: Whole lighting system including both interior and exterior lighting. This includes Head and Tail Lights, Dash Board lighting and side indicators.
Aerospace: The sharper beams of light produced with the help of the PCB is extremely effective in aerospace needs. The aircrafts and planes use landing lights, Spot light, Running Light etc.
Consumer lighting: Due to the availability of a large variety of lights with Aluminum core PCB, these are widely used in Traffic lighting, Landscape lighting, Street lighting, Interior building lights, Camping gear.
Medical: Lighting used in Operation theater, Tools for Surgical lighting, Power converters, High power scanning technology.
Most of these Printed Circuit Boards are becoming an important part for the manufacturing of different devices that are used in the above-mentioned products. Moreover, the technical features in these PCBs are most suitable for them as well.

How Can I Convert SWF to MOV on Mac
To handle SWF file on Mac is a headache for most Mac users. We all know that, Mac does not accept Adobe Flash at all! Many of us may have the same terrible experience as me when importing the SWF video to Mac applications like QuickTime, iTunes, iMovie, and FCP, etc. for playback or editing only to get the result of “file not supported”. It really bothers me a lot! So I just search Google for a workable solution. As Google told me, the best solution is to convert SWF to MOV on Mac since MOV is the default video format of Mac computer.
To conduct the conversion, Google suggested me to use an SWF to MOV Converter for Mac, and the one I use is Firecoresoft Mac SWF Converter. Firecoresoft SWF to Video Converter for Mac is an all-in-one program for converting and editing Flash .swf files. It can easily convert SWF to virtually all video, audio and image formats, Meanwhile, it also offers various output presets for most popular mobile devices, applications and more.
The conversion steps of .swf to .mov is extremely simple. Just three steps: 1. click the “Select file” button to locate and load the source SWF file onto the program; 2. hit “Profile” menu bar and then choose .mov as the output format from the “Common Video” tab; 3. press the “Start” button on the lower right to launch the conversin from SWF to MOV. Simple enough, isn’t it? You won’t even have the chance to make a silly mistake!
OK, the above is my experience of handling SWF files on Mac. If you have any cool ideas, please share with me.

New Post has been published on http://www.jayandfrank.com/the-rumors-leaks-of-samsung-galaxy-note-4-so-far-so-good/
The Rumors & Leaks Of Samsung Galaxy Note 4: So Far So Good
Samsung is doubtlessly the steer for technology. For that reason, it’s natural for anyone following such a leading brand to be eager to learn ‘what’s next after this release by Samsung’. In fact most are the people who want to be ahead with this kind of knowledge. But for Samsung products, well, this has always been taken a bit more seriously. Without even first mentioning about Galaxy Note 4 lurking in the horizon now, just above the dust of the just released Note 3, at least for the last few decades, not even grannies that are not interested in news about a debuting Samsung gadget.
Going back a bit, there are people who are yet to understand the fuss going on now about Samsung. Hear it straight and clear now; Samsung shops are beaming with the just released Galaxy Note 3. This is the phablet that people have all along been waiting for. Now with barely two months in the market, people are largely appreciating the efforts by Samsung. The Note3 has already sold thousands in just a small market of India, Korea, Europe and the US. The rest of the world is still waiting to receive it. But it’s just a matter of time though.
Nonetheless, the Euphoria is slowly turning to the news and rumors that Samsung is mocking this much celebrated Note 3, with yet another phablet, the note 4 coming soon in 2014. What could Samsung possibly do better than what it’s already done with Note 3? This is the question behind the budding Euphoria about Note 4. There are people who even doubt the news and rumors about Note 4. But the fact is that they will soon drop their doubts. From just news and rumors coming in, even from Samsung own respected executives, there is no doubt that Samsung is working on Note 4 as the next phablet gizmo. It’s only better to believe it and get prepared. In case you are just wishing to be ahead regarding the next Samsung phablet, the Galaxy Note 4, read on!
Firstly, even as the dust of Note 3 is yet to settle, there are a few observations that are being made by tough critics on some misses with Note 3. You see, Samsung is always a mega reference for critics. The battle that is always facing Samsung is fighting and silencing critics by releasing a better version of the just released. Don’t imagine how occupied Samsung engineers are. For this reason, realistic critics find a very challenging and tireless company to always keep on toes. But what will they have to say about Note 4 come 2014?
What can possibly come better than Note 3 with Note 4?
Anyone now wondering whether Samsung actually did as expected with Note 3 is amazed because Note 3 is even better than what was rumored. What with the reduced price? Sample this. Within the first two weeks of Note 3 in the market, Samsung had slashed a whooping RS2000 from its debut price in India. That is not the end; according to Samsung, the price is dropping further soon or later. This is making more people to afford it, unlike what has been the case with the previous orders? But when these very people start hearing news and rumors about yet another better phablet than Note 3, and still imagine that the same price reductions will apply, Samsung can only command more awe and respect.
Picture Quality
The first criticism from closed doors critics about Note 3 is the number of pixels with Note 3 camera. Although it has all along been rumored that it will be 13MP, this rumor has come to pass. But critics want to challenge Samsung that 13MP has all along been seen in the previous releases, here to mention note 2, Galaxy S3 and S4 Smartphone. Apart from a few users and critics who want to capture extremely clear images even of objects in darker backgrounds, no ordinary user of these previous gadgets has ever found 13MP limiting. But this did not stop Samsung Engineers from taking the challenge of critics.
What can possibly come better, you ask? According to reports from Samsung’s own analyst meeting held recently, it was reported that the company is working on a whooping 16MP camera for its 2014 releases; galaxy Note 4 and galaxy S5. When you do the math, Galaxy Note 4 is the most likely gizmo to feature the 16MP since it is scheduled for the third quarter of 2014, time enough for 16MP module to be ready for use. S5 is set to be released early 2014. With 16MP for a phablet, nothing else will be there to ask for until later decades. With such a high resolution camera, it will be able to capture very clear images even in poorly lit rooms. After this date, critics must leave the camera alone – for good. They will quickly find something else to challenge Samsung for.
Processing Power and Speed
Although both critics and new users of galaxy Note 3 are all praises about the performance of Note 3, they say it’s excellent, Note 4 will kill it. With a far much better processor, quallcom Snapdragon 800 1.9GHz octa core variant processor, Note 3 has only maintained the trend with Samsung of increasing the processing power and speed bit higher than its predecessors. But although this new improvement with Note 3 has hit the roof, the gadget is superfast; Note 4 is set to introduce another version of everything here.
So far, rumor has it that Samsung is working on a 64bit Exynos processor. This is another breed of processor that will see things change. What is set to change is basically both speed and power. However, this change of the processor has its own separate reasons. According to rumors infiltrating from Samsung factory, the new processor has been inspired by the change in the memory capacity of the Note 4, the multitasking aspect expected and the proposed increase in photography. So that all these capabilities do not crash the gizmo, a complementing power and speed must be inculcated in the equation. But wait; what we have just done here is touch on memory and multitasking. Nothing is clear about them here. Let’s look at them closely and see how they will differ with Note 3’s.
Memory and Storage Capacity
Nearly all other previous Samsung widgets, including Note 3 have never pushed the edge of memory beyond 32GB external and expandable memory combined. Note 3 gave us a 3GB of RAM, 32GB internal memory expandable up to 64GB from external. All news and rumors are pointing to the fact that Note 4 is scheduled to feature 4GB of RAM and storage capacity enough to expand to over 64GB. This will sweep above what is currently the highest, that of Note 3.
But as earlier mentioned in this article, Samsung is doing this to ensure it meets the needs of future Smartphone users. The future calls for more need to multitask, download and upload large volumes, operate many options at a go and store a lot of data including music, videos, study materials and more. The trend of use that smart phones are taking is pointing to the idea that everything will revolve around phone technology. There are several social sites that will need to be active at the same time; users will want to download several apps and so on. For that reason, the Note 4, the gadget of the future, must provide the necessary back up power and capacity.
More Apps Download
Another factor Smartphone users consider is the operating system of the phones. Samsung supports android OS in all its smart gadgets. Nonetheless, the point of concern has all along been how effective is the current OS. People have always wondered how a better OS can do even better. Samsung on the other hand has always been responding accordingly, by upgrading its current OS to something better each time.
Note 3 features android 4.3. There has been android 4.1, 4.2 and 4.4; apparently the higher the number; the better the version of android. But highest android4.4, android is normally reserved for ‘other’ gadgets like S4 and S5 smart phones whose users want more android capacity. All factors included, it was agreed that note 3 should feature android 4.3jellybean.
Nonetheless, Galaxy Note 4 has all the reasons to support the highest android OS, the 4.4kit Kat. Considering the need to meet the future requirements and the high expectation for Note 4, android 4.4 will be necessary. This difference will enable its users to afford more android applications and faster downloads.
Wireless Charging
For the very first, a Smart gadget will charge without connection to power supply. Galaxy Note 3 was at its all time close to this, but it fell off. Note 4 engineers are watching this quality keenly. This is a fact that has attracted all sorts of closed doors meetings to discuss the possibilities of Note 4 featuring it. But success is imminent.
According to Korean publications and some renowned Samsung insiders, there is no doubt that Note 4 will feature remote charging in addition to conventional charging. This technology according to them has been tried in some other gadgets but without much success until they discovered how to affect it with magnetic resonance. This was the point of breakthrough. Note 4 is the only gadget in line to benefit from this because S5 has already got its charging system fitted by now.
What does this mean for the user anyway? No more carrying chargers. No more spending or rather wasting time at a socket keeping watch of your costly gadget to charge. One will only need to activate remote charging on the phone then pass near a live electric socket. Charging will start immediately. The gadget will always stay charged.
Other Minor Improvements
The term minor here will largely differ with individuals. According to critics, the following are minor improvements Note 4 will have over Note 3.
Sport Metal Chassis;
Another design dubbed ‘design 3.0’ has been in the discussion forums of Samsung. This design comes with major changes on the phone cover including the cover material. But Note 3 fell short of this alleged improved version and maintained the previous design 2.0 cover design. That leaves it for the next releases; the galaxy S5 and the galaxy Note 4. According to insiders at the company, it is non negotiable that Note 4 must feature this new design. It is also rumored that it will be sport metal chassis for Note 4. This will be a major shift from the traditional plastic covers, with previous gadgets. The design is most suited for phablets another description of (larger-than-Smartphone but smaller-than-tablets) gadgets. Can Note 3 have anything on this?
Screen Size;
This is a change than no one can ignore. Samsung Galaxy Note4 is rumored to feature an edge to edge HD screen that will leave no side margin. It will also be larger than note 3 that is currently at 5.7 inches (exactly as rumored here). But this is understandable from the fact that this gadget will support a lot of multitasking. Such will definitely require a bigger screen to display otherwise it would be impractical. Another observation to make is that Samsung could not just increase the entire size of Note 4 to comfortably feature a bigger screen and bigger bumper. With this, it will presumably jump the size threshold of a phablet to become a tablet.
Battery Capacity;
Rumors heralding Note 3 release had it that it will feature a higher battery than Note 2. In fact few were short of the correct answer. The September surprise was 3200mAh. This is quite high but Note 4’s will be higher. Why? Note 4 will need more power its power hungry operations including that 64bit processor and multitasking ability. This quality will be backed up by the wireless remote charging that Note 4 is set to introduce. This is convenient technology at its best. Watch this space for more Samsung Galaxy Note 4 news roundup!

How Do You Know Your Customers’ Data is Secure?
How do you know your customers’ data is secure? How do you monitor the integrity of your server? If you are in an IT business, or any business, you have to know the answers to these questions. Thousands of attempts per hour are made to break into your system and compromise, steal, or corrupt valuable data belonging to your clientele.
In addition, new concerns arise daily regarding HIPPA, the law which protects the security of individual health records and medical information, as well as FACTA, the Fairness and Accurate Credit Transactions Act, which protects the financial data of consumers. These are viable legal concerns which you may be liable for in the event of server compromise or other database disaster. “Code injection” is a new term referring to the attempt on behalf of hackers to hack into a major server. A hacking group known only as “Team Ghost Shell” managed to hack into several major university computers using this technique last year. Since then, there has been a widespread effort to prevent this from happening in the future.
Here are some ways that hackers can break into your system and compromise the security of your database and servers:
1) Cross-Site Scripting 2) SQL Injection 3) Path Traversal 4) Denial of Service 5) Remote File Execution
Cross-site scripting (known as XXS) allows attackers to inject client-side scripting into their applications and websites viewed by other users. This is usually used as an attempt to bypass securities programmed into the program or fool the browser into thinking the access is authorized.
SQL Injection is a code injection procedure used to attack applications with data involved, in which malicious lines of code are “injected” in an attempt to steal or compromise the data. This is one of the most frequently used techniques in hacking today and one which makes your SQL server the most vulnerable.
Path Traversal focuses on exploiting passwords and input file names. The goal of this method of hacking is for the software to act in the way it is programmed to, while the security is compromised through access of a particular file or file system.
Denial of Service (also known as DDoS) is an attempt to make the server or central machine inaccessible for authorized users. This causes a loss of service among customers and can have a negative effect on your business, especially if your business offers an online service which customers will no longer be able to access. Since customers have no way of knowing what caused the problem, they will automatically assume your company is somehow to blame. This can hurt your reputation as a business in the long run and can cause people to distrust your business.
Remote File Execution is another technique hackers use to control or alter files using a remote file they access through the server.
All of these hacking techniques can create chaos in your business and can jeopardize the integrity and credibility you worked so hard to maintain.
Here are some things you can do to protect your servers, and thus both your customers and yourself from possible data corruption or theft:
1) Secure Programming- Start with design applications that put security first. One of the ways hackers get in is a program which does not put in security password forms and other identifying scripts into the program. This can allow hackers to bypass the security system at the front end and inject malicious code. So make sure you know the integrity of the programmers and that they do not call on 3rd-party services for the security aspect of the programs.
2) Fire walling- This adds an extra layer of security which complements the security of the programming. Firewalls can detect a malicious attempt to compromise your server in the event it gets by the initial security at the front end.
3) Constant Monitoring- The use of SaaS programs which make monitoring an automated process will decrease the chances that infiltration will occur. The integrity of your servers, as well as specific data, passwords, and other critical data should be monitored on a regular basis to prevent such a compromise.
4) Integrity Checking- All aspects of your servers and other important data should be watched for signs of hacking. The best case scenario for keeping your data secure is a tool which allows you to check the integrity of all aspects of your server, critical data, and virtual systems.
Look for a tool which checks the integrity regularly and reports immediately when it discovers any suspicious activity, so that you can control the damage, before it becomes a catastrophe.

How Inflatable Castles Came Into Being and Emerged As A Popular Entertainment Option
In many amusement parks and residences of wealthy people, you may come across Inflatable castles. These temporary inflatable and soft structures are used to keep kids and teens engrossed for hours. However, at times adults also take part in the excitement of jumping on these recreational structures. These structures also known as bounce houses and Jumping Castles, come in various sizes and shapes and they are built in shapes like animals, citadels, caves and similar things that catch fancy of users. The units are also made with bright colors and attractive adornments to lure users. The fact that these models are transportable and can be stored easily has led to their popularity everywhere.
Origin of inflatable castles
As a matter of fact, bouncing houses or inflatable castles are not very old. Its origin can be traced back to the year 1959. Louisiana resident John Scurlock developed the first inflatable structure in 1959. This mechanical engineer was working with inflatable tennis court covers and came up with the idea purely by chance. He is also credited with inventing safety air cushions that are extensively deployed by fire and rescue work staffs. His wife also played a role behind these structures becoming popular for rental use. She started the first ever bouncing castle rental business.
Basics of inflatable structures
As it is, these recreational units are composed of strong PVC, nylon or vinyl materials. The structures are made inflated with aid of electric blower. To ensure the users, especially kids are not hurt as they jump and fall on the unit, foam mats are used. The add-on safety features used with such units can vary from one country to another. In another variant of inflatable structure, a blower runs to supply the air constantly while small pores allow some amount of air to escape. This variant is more suited for home usage.
Safety issues related to bounce houses
There have been several instances of kids and teens getting hurt while enjoying their time in bouncing castles and rides. This has prompted governments in various nations to make and modify rules for manufacturing and usage of these portable recreational ride and structures. Australia presently adheres to the most stringent laws for manufacturing these joy ride structures. However, similar security measures have also been adopted in EU in recent times. In US states like New Jersey and Pennsylvania, inflatable units are made to pass rigorous tests to check safety standards before they can get approval for rent.
Why inflatable castles are popular
With TV and internet invading into human life like never before, a majority of kids have become reclusive and love spending hours playing video games or surfing web lying on the couch. This has led to child obesity across the globe emerging as a major health threat. Inflatable castles can actually be your best weapon to lure your couch loving teen or kid son out of house and engage in some fun and physical activity. These kids can burn extra calories and fat without feeling bored when using these joy rides and units. It can be ideal for obese kids who hate using treadmills and regular gym equipments to burn fat.
Things to know before you hire a bouncing castle
Before you hire a bouncing structure or castle for events like your kid’s upcoming birthday or such personal occasions, a few things need to be tested. Find out tenure of the rental company in this sector. It is also prudent that you enquire about its legal permit to offered services and safety standards of its rented units. Inspect the unit that you want to hire to evade any hassle later.

An Introduction to Einstein's Twin Paradox
“Everything is relative” is a common shorthand expression sometimes used to encapsulate Albert Einstein’s groundbreaking Theory of Special Relativity. This is incorrect, however, as the fundamental concept of relativity posits that the way an observer experiences time is affected by the speed he or she is traveling. The speed of light, however, is not relative: it is a constant that figures prominently in Einstein’s famous equation: E=mc^2 where E is energy, m is mass and c^2 is the speed of light (186,000 miles per second). As one gets closer to the speed of light, time passes more slowly relative to the passage of time for a stationary observer. This discrepancy in how time is experienced by observers at different speeds is called time dilation.
Time Travel Explained
Einstein came up with a hypothetical scenario to help illustrate the paradoxical effect time dilation has on certain events. Originally, he imagined a pair of clocks, one stationary and the other traveling at approximately the speed of light. Later, his thought experiment was modified to feature twins instead of clocks. There are several versions of the scenario, but the basics are all the same.
In the scenario, one of the twins works at mission control and the other twin is an astronaut. The astronaut pilots a spaceship from Earth toward a distant star. His spaceship accelerates to a velocity close to the speed of light, so he is able to reach the star and return to Earth quickly. That time period may have been only a year from the astronaut’s point of view, because he was traveling much faster relative to his twin back at mission control. As many as 30 years may have elapsed for the twin who stayed at mission control — long enough that he could have retired while his brother was still hurtling through deep space.
Paradox Solved?
Subhash Kak, a professor of electrical and computer engineering at Louisiana State University, has published a paper offering a resolution of the twin paradox. He explained his innovation this way: “I solved the paradox by incorporating a new principle within the relativity framework that defines motion not in relation to individual objects, such as the two twins with respect to each other, but in relation to distant stars.” His work points out the importance of a concept called inertial frame of reference. In the twin scenario, the inertial frame of reference is constant for the one who stays on Earth, but shifts for the astronaut who accelerates and decelerates in his ship.
New Frontiers
Professor Kak and other physicists hope that their work is of more than just academic interest. Most are optimistic that a greater understanding of the twin paradox and other aspects of special relativity can lead to advances in areas like quantum computers and quantum communications.
Not all physicists agree that Kak’s work is a complete solution to the twin paradox. Some argue it may represent a significant step forward in our understanding of the paradox, but believe that it and the Special Theory of Relativity require continued experimentation.

New Post has been published on http://www.jayandfrank.com/the-new-features-of-the-xbox-one/
The New Features of the Xbox One
Microsoft, one of the world’s most well known software and hardware development companies, is set to release the highly anticipated Xbox One in late November of 2013. While gamers across the world have appreciated the brilliance of its predecessor, the Xbox 360, they also expect the new iteration to reach further than any previous machine. They don’t just expect the console to be excellent: they expect it to be revolutionary. If you are a Microsoft devotee, read through these new features of the Xbox One to discover what it can do to change your gaming experience.
Kinect Camera
While gaming consoles in the recent past have begun to use cameras to help with functionality and interactive gameplay, Microsoft, in an attempt to raise the bar, has created its new Kinect Camera. The Kinect, a revolutionary addition in the gaming world, can take photographs and videos, and can monitor skeletal movement for fitness games, track facial expressions to modify in-game experience, and perform a variety of other actions that will only benefit the player in front of the screen.
Media Compatibility
While most gamers use their consoles to play against artificial intelligence, friends in the room, or even rivals across the world, others may spend time utilizing it to play music and videos found on the Internet. Fans of this activity will love the Xbox One, as it is fully compatible with DLNA (Digital Living Network Alliance), and can use this service to play MP3s, view videos, and interactive with almost any other type of visual or auditory media.
Skype Capabilities
With the rise of multiplayer games, which pit players across the world against one another in a virtual battle, comes the need for players to have a simple and convenient way to chat with one another. And while many previous consoles have included voice chatting to satisfy this need, Microsoft has decided to take things one step further by making the Xbox One fully compatible with Skype software. This addition was made for gamers to be able to easily speak to one another during games, or for an effective way to chat with distant friends or relatives without leaving the couch.
Porting and Extra Achievements
Previous users of the Xbox 360 will love Microsoft’s latest addition, porting, as it allows gamers to port their avatars and Gamertags over to the new system without having to create a new virtual identity. Because the most dedicated gamers have devoted hundreds or even thousands of hours to crafting their online presence, not having to scrap all that when they change systems will be hugely appealing.
Additionally, while the Xbox 360 had a variety of achievements that allowed gamers to enjoy extra rewards, the Xbox One will use a cloud-based server, giving game developers the ability to modify or create new achievements depending on the wishes of those playing the games. This will allow for a more personalized style of game play for everyone involved, and will allow game companies to be more responsive to players’ demands.
The Next Generation of Gaming
If you are a gaming fanatic, then it is time to get ready for one of the most revolutionary installations in the history of consoles. And while multiple systems will be unveiled in late 2013, the new features of the Xbox One highlight it as a console dedicated to giving you the gaming experience of your dreams.

5 Ways Broadband TV Will Replace Your Mother's Ancient Cable
In the old days, and even today to a large degree, if you wanted to watch a handful of networks on cable TV, you had to pay for a provider’s entire package. Now, thanks to Broadband, that’s all starting to change. Look for your Verizon FIOS promotion code, and check out these five ways that Broadband tv will soon replace standard cable television. You’ll be surprised at just what an amazing alternative it is to the standard cable you’ve been using for all these years.
#5 IT’S ABOUT THE PRICE
Even the most basic of cable packages can run easily over $100 per month. For that high of an investment, you would think the end user would get all the content they want, and then some. Unfortunately, you’d be wrong. The truth is, cable viewers often get very little of what they’re actually looking for in a television entertainment package. To add insult to injury, most of the channels they have to pay for, they’re not even interested in!
#4 CONTENT IS KING
Thanks to Broadband TV, everything you care about is right at your finger tips. Unlike standard cable, you pay for only the finest entertainment out there, and it’s everything that you want. Whenever you turn on your television, you’re guaranteed to see something you’re interested in.
#3 EASE OF USE
From getting your new Broadband TV account set up, to relaxing and catching up on your favorite shows, films, and sporting events, nothing compares to it’s user experience. There’s no going back once you’ve experienced everything that Broadband TV has to offer.
#2 CUSTOMER SERVICE
In the case of cable providers, the stereotypes are indeed accurate; everyone’s gone through the experience of jumping through hundreds of hoops, all in the name of getting your new cable service up and running. You start by having to pay for more than you were planning on. Then, you need to have a huge chunk of your schedule open so that you can be home when the installer is free. It takes them all day, leaving you with nothing accomplished. And then, finally, once they arrive, it’s usually a hassle that takes them another hour or two. Who needs that in their lives? You’ll never have to deal with it again, thanks to Broadband TV.
#1 VERSATILITY
With Broadband TV, you’re no longer tied to your living room. Want to watch in another room- the bedroom or elsewhere? Want it streaming to your touch device? With broadband, you’re the one in control. And Broadband TV knows how to play well with others, too. If you want to hook it up to your streaming device, including game systems, you can make that happen. Really, it’s all about versatility. Broadband offers that versatility in ways that cable can’t even hope to.
When you start to compare and contrast, there really is no contest. If you’ve been looking for a better alternative to cable television, look no further. Get online, of put in a call, and free yourself from all the unwanted baggage that comes with cable television. Broadband TV is waiting for you.

Android Security – How Effective?
Google’s Android operating system is the most widely used mobile software system in the world. Its activation rate is increasing at a steadily. It is an advanced mobile OS that was designed keeping both the developer and the user in mind. However, Android is a big target for makers of malicious software. This brings into question the Android phone security.
As an operating system, Android is very secured. It has multiple layers of security that provides the flexibility required for an open platform, while providing protection for all users and keeping malware at bay. It requires the user’s specific permission to do almost anything that could lead to the user’s data or the system being compromised. It prevents processes from collecting too much information without permission, so no app or process can get access to the system level without suitable privileges, and the user is generally aware of what’s happening. Moreover, users can see how applications work, and they can control it. Android was designed to reduce the probability of common attacks, and to limit the impact of a successful attack.
To get installed, an app has to get through Google Play or an unknown sources warning (if it’s enabled). Then, the user has to confirm the installation. After that, it has to get past the “Verify Apps” security feature of Google. “Verify apps” security mechanism intervenes when an app is downloaded, makes a comparison of this to a huge database of malware information created by Google and sends a warning message to the user if the application is harmful potentially. “Verify apps” is also distributed to previous Android versions by adding it in updates to Google Play. Evaluating and blocking the apps is by default enabled unless a user chooses to make it disabled and cancel its defense. Later, the app is restricted to permissions granted to it earlier, and then Android phone security checks it again whenever the app starts.
However, although Android has many layers of defense, it is designed to protect mainly itself. That is, if the app isn’t interested in control over the device, the multi-layered protection only defends at the point of installation. The unaddressed issue is if capturing data is the basic purpose of a malware. This puts the responsibility upon the user to be attentive about which applications to install.
In the end, the user should always keep in mind that malwares exist, they are out there, and the threat is real. Even if the security companies exaggerate sometimes about how big are the types of threats in the Android system, users should not feel comfortable installing apps from unreliable websites thinking that Android’s defenses are enough to defend their phone. Some measures are always to be taken, which raises the question: what tips should users follow to be on the safe side when it comes to using Android?
