The Girl Who Forgot ~ A Mystery and Suspense story. ~ Part 1
I awakened with sleepy eyes and a tired yawn. I was stiff and seemed to be laying on a cold, hard floor. Surprised, I looked at my clothes and saw I was wearing shorts and a tee shirt, with a denim jacket. Not usual sleeping attire. I had heavy duty boots, and my hair was in two braids. I didn't know how I got there or why I was there in the first place. I closed my eyes and slowly reopened them. "Maybe I'm dreaming. Maybe this isn't real". I told myself. I quickly glanced around the room and decided that I was definitely NOT dreaming. The room was probably some sort of ballroom, and I had been laying in the center of the floor. There were decorative curtains on each wall and arches instead of doors. All of the walls were a pale blue color, like the sky, and there were three chandeliers hanging from the ceiling. The room itself was empty except for me, still on the floor. I heard footsteps behind me so I turned my head. Someone was walking towards me at a fast pace. As the person approached me I stood up. It was a man dressed in clothes of a trader or some sort of woodsman, making him stand out against the stark walls and glittering lights. He looked young, maybe in his twenties, and he was cool and confident in his stride.
When he reached me, he grabbed my arm and whispered, "Hurry, we must go...now!" I stumbled under his tight grip and followed unknowingly. His voice was urgent and led me to believe something was wrong. He seemed focused, so I didn't question anything. As we walked across the ballroom floor, we came upon a short, wide arch that stood out from the rest. He approached it cautiously while looking around the room. I looked into the empty space we were about to enter and saw no one. There was no one in the same room with us either, so I was confused on his cautiousness. He pulled me with him as he practically ran through the archway. I then gasped as I realized that we were outside instead of in another room. We had somehow ended up in a beautiful clearing near a waterfall. There was mist spiraling in the air and a willow tree sweeping the ground with its branches. A chill had run up my spine, however, because despite the beauty, the air was cool and everything was shadowed.

We were in Spokane, Washington over the weekend for Thunderstruck dance competition. On Saturday we walked all around the area and saw the dam and river. We crossed multiple bridges to see it from a view higher up and it was worth it. There were vines in one spot that covered the entire side of the railing. It was very misty and cool despite the scorching hot sun that day.
