My Fitness Journey #FITSPIRATION
Doing workouts during this pandemic was not an easy feat. Nor was the first step to convincing myself to do even the simplest exercises was easy. I didn't have any inspiration to start doing any workout at a regular schedule because, well, I don't get to go outside and being in the confines of my own home was very relaxing to say the least. Prior to the pandemic I was hellbent on getting all the rest I need due to being buried in schoolwork and organizational work, so all I could think of was rest.
However, as months passed by, and every night felt like forever as I had to endure weeks of sleepless nights, I started to notice my health deteriorating. And I mean, by A LOT. I noticed how slimmer I looked, how my weight drastically decreased, and my appetite for food seemed to be lesser and lesser as I continued my unhealthy habits. This however, despite seeing the implications of me literally about to "die", was not enough to convince myself to do anything about it. Although I started eating more, it simply isn't enough to compensate for all of the other unhealthy habits I have committed myself to. This led me to gaining weight again, which may seem productive since I lost a lot of it prior to that, but I also noticed how unhealthy my eating habits have become. Yes, I eat more but not in the way you might have thought. My appetite for junk foods increased more than the regular meal I intake on a daily basis. However, as hopeless it may have been for me, things have to come to an end... Right?
Well... Yes, but then there's a no... Then another yes... Then another no... And then, something worked.
Around January, one of my closest friends in college asked me to do a simple workout. He sent me videos from "Hybrid Calisthenics" from YouTube who gives helpful tips to beginners and people who find it hard to start doing workouts due to certain reasons. And I thought, huh, I might actually try it out. The first few exercises felt like a task, but I find them doing me some good. They were mostly for fixing my posture and developing some back muscles as well as muscles on my arms, but mostly the back since I have spent a ton of hours sitting in front of the desk with my back hunched all the time. And in between video call sessions, my friend who I mentioned earlier, noticed how my posture doesn't seem right. Telling me I look like "The Hunchback of Notre Dame" if he were Asian. I simply laughed it off before but after noticing the way I walk and stand whenever I passed by a mirror made me really concerned of how I present myself to other people; especially since I started seeing a girl at that time too. So I knew I had to do something about it, and that's when I started to do those exercises. I found myself doing them regularly for 4-5 days in a week with 2-3 reps in a day. And the result? Well, not much but I look far better than I was months before I started.
As much as I wanted to share photos of me on my journey to becoming a properly erect homo sapiens (again) as I'm supposed to, I wasn't one to take pictures in front of mirrors after every week or month. Aside from the posture exercises, I also got myself to do a bit of cardio and jogging around my place, I also started to cook better food for myself since I moved into a new place alone. So at the end of all that, is there really a moral to this story? Hmm, maybe. If you can't convince yourself to do anything for yourself, then maybe something or someone ought to get you going. I certainly had someone to help me get started but not everyone does, right? Just don't be like me where I waited for my body to literally start to die before I even started working out. The pandemic won't go away anytime soon but there's nothing stopping you from getting that beach bod (even if you don't go to the beach) that you've always wanted, not like we can go to the beach anyway, but you'll thank yourself later when you do.

The Ass Poem
"Roses are red, and they say love's not made to last, But I know I'll never get enough of that sweet, sweet ass. All that jelly in your jeans, all that junk in you trunk, I just gotta have it—one look and I was sunk. If you ever wonder why I had to make you mine, It's 'cause no other lady has a tush so fine. They say you're not a looker, but I don't mind. What I'm looking at is the view from behind. Never been romantic, don't know what love means, But I know I dig the way you're wearing those jeans. Hate to see you leave but love to watch you go. Turn back, then leave again—baby do it slow. I'm coming right after, gonna make a pass, Can't get enough of that sweet, sweet ass." -from the Bane Chronicles
