"guilt" and grief.
when i was about to post that drawing, i thought about how the bloodstain looked a lot like fallen leaves. in this way, I imagined kris's thoughts to be like a poem about their feelings for their possible involvement (or even lack of) in dess's disappearance. their actions may be contradictory, but it comes from a place of guilt, and grief.

I think about this moment so much. after carrying berdly to the hospital, as weak as they are, immediately go to reassure noelle that everything's okay. the fact that during the weird route, there are chances to apologise via the abort options. all kris wants to do is say "sorry, noelle". it says so much of their character I truly do not understand how people can subscribe to the whole "kris is evil" thing when this is them. this is one of the few moments we get of kris's actual dialogue. they care for their friends so much.

it's extremely good that susie will stomp all over anything perceived as "sacred" for the sake of making new memories. she plays dess's guitar, she wears azzy's clothes, she draws shapes on the window with kris, she defies the prophecy inherently, she's breaking through all of these idolized ideas and making new and fresh experiences. nostalgia has no meaning to her, and this is an extremely powerful quality of hers
