So in lover's oath, Ulla was young Eugene’s private royal tutor when he was 6 years old until age 10 (and this is also how she and Quirin met—and yes Eugene rooted for them, he was probably a matchmaking wingman and everything too)

Eugene deeply empathizes with Varian when it came to Ulla. They pretty much bonded over the thought of not knowing yet missing a mother they never got the chance to meet/know in person and was very understanding of each other for it.

The first time little Varian asked Eugene what mom was like, the young prince proudly told him that she was the coolest teacher ever because her class sessions were never boring, was always so lively because of her energetic personality and that he found himself having the most fun learning under her mentorship than any other tutors he ever had.

Been trying to work on art before i leave for camp tomorrow so have some Varian art

first of all I’d like to say that I’m on the hunt for a new pfp so it will probably change btw. Anyway. since announcing that I was going to do a wip purge and finish all of the projects I had already begun, I have since started 3 more long term art projects. Also there was a smaller fourth project but that’s what this post is. I’m so good at this guys. Totally nailing it. Anyway I say smaller b/c I’m not willing to admit I spent as many hours as I did on this there’s literally like nothing going on in it I didn’t even shade what.

I’ve attempted to explain the au of mine this drawing is set in but the paragraph got to long for tumblr’s word limit so I had to delete it (yet again. I seem to have a talent for rambling on par with midoriya himself /silly) and I realized that if I really had that much to say about it then maybe I could (for once) actually write it! But yeah I thought I’d post the drawing anyway cause I think it’s cute.

The basic idea of the au, tho, is bad-luck quirk midoriya who grows up to be an accidental vigilante because I think that’s funny

You know what I've never really seen realistically depicted in fiction? The way that people in places that get a huge amount of snow deal with said snow. Specifically in the cities. I get that it's probably not exactly an intuitive thing to think about if you've never lived in a place that gets a lot of snow, and even if you do, you probably figure that they must have some really sophisticated infrastructure systems specifically for this purpose. It's not like they'll just scoop the snow off the streets and gather it into huge piles, and then just climb over the progressively larger and larger snow piles every single year for months while waiting for the piles to melt in the spring.

We do. There's no point in planning more sophisticated systems to get rid of something that'll eventually just go away on its own. So they just pile the snow into randomly designated spaces that cars or people aren't supposed to go through, and let it pile up. There's significantly less street parking available in the winter because some spots where you could otherwise park a car are currently the parking spot of a snow pile three times taller than a car.

You get used to it. And if you grow up around here, it never even occurs to you to think of it as something strange in the first place.

Varigo Week 2025: Song Inspired

took this opportunity to make another one of these :'D

and another thing I absolutely loved from Varian's Tangled Trials is how varigo finally had a heart to heart during the dark trial of all places—I dunno, it just feels so poetic to me personally that Varian extended an olive branch while they're in his ancestral homeland and then their connection start to further spark even more leading to their "let's make new memories" moment by the time they get to Ingvarr, aka at Hugo's homeland. It's peak cinema for me

Roommates AU animatic for the final day of Varigo week

Ever since reading the AU (created by @dreadpirateurania13) I wanted to make an animatic, especially since the newest chapter. So here it is!

It’s a bit of a rewrite of the parody song “screw destiny” from Princess Tutu Abridged episode 12 (seriously if you like this story you have to go watch Princess tutu, it’s SO GOOD)

🌟Nuru redesign🌟

Also gave her a bit of a backstory. I wanted there to be more of an explaination why the meteors are happening in the first place. Also more of a reason why she's going to the eternal library more than just "Hey, maybe they'll have books on how to stop a meteor shower curse there!!"

So! I'm actually really excited about this one, i'm kinda proud of myself for thinking this through cuz im normally terrible at making stories jdbskjdkd but anw lets get to it !!

Nurus kingdom, Koto, used to be high in the mountains. As close to the stars as possible, since the royal family used to have very strong magic connected to the stars, and used to be able to read destiny from them.

The reason the royal family had this kind of magic in the first place was becouse they borrowed it from the gods, or at least that's what the legends say. The gods gave the royal family a power to protect their kingdom, they could read the future and prepare for disasters, however, they were never allowed to change destiny.

One day, as they were reading the future from the stars, they saw how in a few months, their kingdom would be showered in a meteor storm, and there would be no survivors.

The royal family didn't want to cause a panic amongst their citizens. So instead of evacuating the kingdom, they shifted the stars to create a different future, where the meteors wouldn't hurt them, but a nearby village instead.

Them changing it and even wiping out an entire village in the profess obviously angered the gods. They sent a meteor shower on them and slowly, Koto descended from the mountains all the way underground, where they now live in a grand cave system, a giant crack in the earth, as their kingdom gets showered by meteors every 9 years.

A few hundred years later, the current kind and Queen have a baby. The royal family's magic has been weakening for all that time, barely having any of it now, but this girl was born with a great amount of it. She has a sort of aura around her, that she would be the one who could rid their kingdom of this meteor curse.

This girl's name is Zaya.

Zaya, Nuru's older sister, was believed to be "the chosen one" ever since she was born. She was training hard her entire life, her magic, her fighting, her rulling abilities, just so she could be the hero to save their kingdom once and for all.

Then, the day of the shower came. Everyone was prepared to finally be rid of this curse, for Zaya to drive the meteors away so they dont need to hide anymore.

But plot twist, she fails

Its a disaster, countless dead, including the king and queen. Zaya is completely destroyed. The thing she was training for her entire life, and she failed, her parents are dead. She's only 17 and now has to shoulder the weight of rulling her entire kingdom, orphaned and feeling like s failure. The only one she has now is her grandmother and her little 9 year old sister.

But that terrible night when everything goes wrong, a star, the symbol of their kingdom appears on nuru's forehead. The clear mark of the real chosen one. Zaya realizes it's Nuru who's destined to be the one to save their kingdom from the meteors. She's avoiding that though. Her entire life, Nuru is protected by Zaya. She wants to learn how to harness her magic to be able to stop the meteors one day, but zaya isnt letting her cuz she's protective over nuru and doesn't want her to try and stop them like she tried to so nuru doesn't die or anything.

Nuru still tries tho, goes outside of the kingdom above to try and learn her magic. She wears a cape and a face covering, mainly to cover her star mark, so she isn't recognized by neither the citizens, guards, but especially her sister. The only one who knows she's training her magic and sneaking out is their grandmother, who of course isnt a snitch.

Nuru has also always felt like something is incomplete about the legend of the origin of the meteor showers. See, after hundreds of years, the scripts arent gonna stay the same. The royals didnt want to admit they made a horrible mistake, so instead they wrote themselves as innocent people who the gods got angry at for no reason and cursed them. The old original scripts have long been destroyed though, so nuru will probably never discover the truth...

However😈

When Varian and the gang arrive at the kingdom and tell her about the eternal library, nuru asks how it works. Varian tells her it has a copy of every book, scroll, script, letter and all these things ever written. Nuru asks if it even includes destroyed scripts that dont exist at all in the real world anymore and varian's like yea probably so Nuru gets the idea to join them.

They refuse at first, cuz even though she helped them with the air trial, zaya seemed very against the idea of nuru leaving with these 3 weird dudes, and theyre not about to disrespect the queen. The boys get the totem and are on their way forward in their lil cart when they meet a bump and suddely the cart makes a sound. Oh no! Its nuru! She was hiding in the cart all along !! Everyones like girl u need to go back and varians panicking cuz he just accidentally kidnapped another royal but she somehow convinces them to actually let her join them. Zaya could be also an antagonist of sorts, not evil but just sending her guards to retrieve nuru back that they would have to run away from and stuff. Kinda similar to how toph in atla ran away from her parents :))

Anw thats it!! I wanna tweak it a bit still, esp the part about the old royal family and the very origins of the curse to make a bit more sense but ya this is what i have now!! Feedback about both nuru's design and her backstory is appreciated!! 😊
