My final outcomes displayed in the show.
For the end of year show I had to plan how I wanted to display my outcomes from my final major project. I decided to put the posters without the text on the wall in A3 and then smaller A5 versions with the text on below on a table. I displayed it like this because I wanted people to be able to clearly see the art and the three different themes I used and then explain which ones which using the A5 prints at the bottom which were also in order of their statement.

making my ninth poster
.
I made this poster to represent the eighth satanic statement.
First I cut round the silhouette of a sketch with the lasso tool and turned down the opacity on that part of the sketch. I then started to create the outlines in black using different sized brushes. Then changing the brush I was using to create a different texture I drew in the hair. Once all the outlines were done I made the background black. To stick to the black, white and red theme I then created new layers above and below the sketch, changed the brush texture, turned the brush size quite high and then drew the patches of red on these layers. I then created the 3D effect by using the same technique as the previous posters, by merging the layers, duplicating them and using the layer options to change the RGB. Finally I added text using the Who asks Satan font.
I found this poster more simple to create then some of my others I made but I still really like how it turned out. I really like the effect it gives and how well the 3D worked with it. For this poster I decide to create an image like this as the statements focus is “sins” so I thought this would fit in well with that.

Making my eighth poster.
I made this poster represent the sixth satanic statement.
First i cut round an image of myself using the polygonal lasso tool to leave only my face. Then using the brush tool and putting the brush size up, I drew around the part of the face that I wanted to draw over. Turning the brush size down slightly I drew round other details like my eye, eyebrow and lips. I filled the eye in white, following inspiration I had after researching grime art. The eyebrow and lips I made close to the original colour. Then I started to add the drips with an even smaller brush size. When creating the drips I decided to draw them in a variety of shapes and sizes, with some dripping off of the face. I then filled the whole area blue and added in some shading and highlights. Using the layer options on my image layer I then turned the R (red) and G (green) off to leave B (blue) which gave this side of my face a blue overlay. For the background I chose a slightly darker shade of blue and used the bucket tool to cover the page. I then repeated drawing drips on here also adding highlights until the background was covered.
To create the 3D effect I first had to turn this outcome black and white. I did this by merging the layers, to create one and clicking image -> adjustments-> black and white. I then duplicated this layer. One of these two layers I adjusted to make it slightly bigger and off centred. Again growing into layer options I turned off the R to finally create this 3D effect.
For this poster I referred a lot to my research on grime art, using the images to help me build up my own art. The statement that fits with this poster is about people mentally and emotionally draining you. I thought this poster worked well with that idea as it looks as if the face is being drained and melting away.

research on grime art
I used these images as inspiration for one of my posters as I really like how it looks and the effect it gives. I also think I could create a poster like this in a short timeframe to complete it for the deadline. Some grime art I found is very detailed and thought out whereas others are more basic and cartoony. I really like how you're taking a real photo of people and then drawing over it as you can see all the realistic shapes of people with a very un realistic drawing over the top.

Making my seventh poster
.
I made this poster to represent the seventh satanic statement.
For this poster again I made it red, white and black. I first made the background black and decided to use an image of the baphomet statue outside the temple of Satan. Even though for my project I am focusing on the church of Satan and there beliefs, I still like this representation of Satan.
Using the polygonal lasso tool I selected around the head and used the bucket tool on a new layer to make the head red. Using the brush tool I filled the details in white. To create straight lines I used the shift key. I outlined all the parts that I wanted to stand out. Next I slightly lowered the opacity on the red layer and tested all the different filter options. Finally I added text using the who asks Satan font.
Although for this project I have been researching the church of satan I decided to make the poster based on the head of the statue outside the temple of satan. The reason for this was because I like their perspective of how satan looks in the statue they have.

Research on the dark lord in the chilling adventures of Sabrina
I researched this as I used it as inspiration for one of my posters. Specifically looking at the baphomet statue as also seen outside the satanic temple. I chose to look at this show in particular as I really like how they portray satan to act and look.

Making my sixth poster
I made this poster to represent the fifth satanic statement.
Again for this poster I made the background black to fit the theme of red, black and white. Using a reference image of veins in a hand, I made an outline using the polygonal lasso tool I then filled this in red to give the silhouette of a hand. Then using the brush tool I traced all the veins accurately. I had to use different sized brushes to draw in all the detail. Using the who asks satan font again I added the white text. Then to make the background less plain, and make it fit in with the last poster I made, I duplicated the layer I had drawn the veins on and resized it and positioned the layer behind the hand. To make the hand in front stand out I then turned the opacity down on the layer behind.
For this statement I decided to draw the veins in a hand. The reason for this was the statement is about vengeance so I decided to imagine this as anger and think about being able to feel your pulse and all the blood rushing through your veins.

making my fifth poster
I made this poster to represent the forth satanic statement.
First to make this poster I made sure the background was black to fit my red, black and white theme. Then I outlined the reference image I was using with the polygonal lasso tool and filled this red. Keeping the selected area around the heart, on a new layer I began to use the brush tool to draw in the veins from the image I was using. I also outlined the tubes coming out of the heart. Then I made a new layer and drew in the lines on the tubes and turned the opacity of this layer down. I then added the statement in white using the who asks satan font. The background looked to plain so I then made a new layer, drew around the heart, copied the other layers except the red and merged the copied layers and the new outline together. I moved and positioned this behind the heart and duplicated the layer to create multiple hearts in two different sizes to scatter through the background.
I decided to draw a heart to fit with this statement as I wanted to think of it as giving your heart away to people who don't deserve it. With the heart representing the “kindness” and “love” in this statement.

Research on dilated pupils caused by drugs
I chose to use this to create one of my posters because I thought it would be a good way to hint towards the drug theme. I also think its interesting to look at as its an unusual way to see eyes. Two of the drugs I decided to focus on have this side effect, so it fit with my theme well. In the screenshots above it explains why this happens to the pupils when on specific drugs. The muscles in your eyes, that control how much light they let in, are effected by specific drugs such as MDMA and LSD, two of the drugs I'm focusing on, this makes the pupils dilate.

Making my forth poster
I made this poster to represent the first satanic statement.
First for this poster I made the background, as I did with the other two that use the psychedelic theme using the same techniques. Then using the ellipse tool I created the pupil. To create the highlight in the eye I used the ellipse tool again, rasterised the layer and using the polygonal lasso tool removed a section. Next leaving a gap between the pupil and where I wanted the white to start I created another circle using the ellipse tool. I used this as a guide to fill in the white. for each different part of the eye I used the polygonal lasso tool to select the area I wanted to fill. Then I made the waterline of the eye, first filling it with one colour, then changing the opacity and colour of the brush to add highlights and shading. I then coloured the skin around the eye and the crease of the eyelid. Again using shading around the crease to blend it in a bit more. I added the text the same as I did for the other posters: typing the statement in black then clicking Select -> Colour Range and selecting the text, to then put the white around it. I then decided to use a different brush too around the skin to give it a different effect.

Making my third poster
This poster I made to represent the third satanic statement.
Once again for this poster I made the background out of my psychedelic colour palette then used filters and blending options to create the effect I wanted. For the first layer I used blur and for the top two I used twirl and wave, for the blending options I chose linear light and darker colour.
To create the brain I first got an image of a brain side on and placed this over the background. I then hid the background and used the magic wand tool to select the white, then clicking Select -> Inverse to select the brain and using the brush tool painted the white around it and turned the opacity down. Using the polygonal lasso tool I then went round selecting the parts of the brain I wanted to colour. Once I selected each bit I used the pink from the psychedelic colour palette and the bucket tool to colour it. Then once all the pink was done I again hid all the layers except the image of the brain and selected the white with the magic wand tool. I hid the brain image layer and used the bucket tool to fill the centre in black and turned the opacity down.
For the text I chose The Macabre font and typed the statement in black at the top and bottom. I hid the brain layers and then clicked Select -> Colour Range and made sure the black text was selected. Once again I used the brush tool and painted white around the text, then turned down the opacity. Finally I deleted the black text .

Research on one dollar bill
I did this research so that I was able to complete my money poster. Using this information was able to accurately fill in my note. I made the bank note from Chicago using the G and 7 as it explains in the first part of the image, also I made sure I used a real note number position. Using the diagram at the top I checked what everything was and where it all went.

Making my second poster
I made this poster to represent the ninth satanic statement.
First took the banknote I had made into an A3 document on photoshop and positioned it in the centre. I then copied the layer and placed it randomly on the page, I repeated this whilst resizing and rotating the image. When layering them I placed the smaller ones on the lower layers and the bigger ones on the top layers. Once they were all placed and the page was covered, I hid the main note on the top layer and combined the others by pressing cmd and selecting all the layer and then pressing E. I then double clicked this combined layer and in the R G B section of the options I turned off the R to create the 3D blue and red effect. I experimented turning the G or B off instead to see what it would look like in other colours. Finally I added the text over the top using the font another danger and double clicked the layer to give it an outer glow.

Making my bank note
I separately made this banknote to use in one of my 3D poster outcomes. Making this was quite time consuming as it has a lot of detail.
First to make this note I found a basic image of a one dollar bill and placed it into a photoshop document. Then using a picture of Anton Lavey, which I placed over the face that was on the bill, I created a layer mask and then selected parts of the note that I wanted to change then erased that part of the layer mask. Then I painted over all the detail on the banknote to replace it with my own numbers and letters.
Using research I filled in the federal reserve seal with a G and the federal reserve district number with a 7 as this is the designated letter and number for Chicago where Anton Lavey is from. Next I filled in the note number position with D3 which I chose randomly as this just shows the position the note was printed on. For the plate serial number I put S661 this again only signifies where it was printed. Under where it says series I added 1972 as I'm basing my project in the 70s when the church of satan was growing. I also added the signatures at the bottom, I chose to have Antons signature and Peter Gilmores signature, I also added the word one back in in my font I'm using. At the top of the note I typed Infernal empire note as Anton Levay used to refer to the infernal empire on documents related to the church of satan. Above the word one I added Chicago Illinois as I did in other places to refer to again where anton levay came from. Below the signatures I added first high priest and second high priest. For the seriel number I just picked randomly what it would be. Over the word one I add the stencil I created for my graffiti and turned the opacity down, whilst also adding texture by getting an image of paper placing it on the top layer and turning the opacity down. The final part of the text I added was around the main G where I wrote Infernal empire Chicago bank of satan. To finish the note off, on each text layer I clicked Filter -> Noise -> add noise and adjusted it.

Psychedelic Blasphemy
Psychedelic blasphemy is a art book that was released by Peter Gilmore the current high priest of the church of satan. It includes work from tattoo artists, illustrators and sculptors. I was surprised when I found this book as it fits in perfectly with my project and ideas but I can only see certain pages from it as all the pages are not online. This art combines both the psychedelic look and satanic imagery I want in my own work. From what I've seen all the art in this book has a different style and effect from page to page because of all the different artists.

Tate modern (primary)
I took part in a trip to the Tate modern to gather some primary research. I saw a variety of art and took many pictures to cover all the different things I saw. From these images my favourite piece of art was the comic book style plane. I liked the extra explosion outside the limited square.
