My Own Enemy
I’m locked inside a Lou Reed song, but I forget the words. A dark, eerie and haunting song. I can feel his voice. Hanging there. In the ether.
Sometimes I get confused about what is going on in my own mind. It’s almost like I’m an outside observer. Sitting in the stands. Ominous twisted black branches obstructing my view.
The age of the sage is upon me. The scraping away of all that useless caked…

Mazzy Star- Halah
For you… Well I think I see another side Maybe just another light that shines And I look over now through the door And I still belong to no one else Maybe I hold you to blame for all the reasons That you left. And close my eyes, still I see your surprise And you’re leaving before my time. Baby won’t you change your mind? Surely don’t stay long I’m missing you now. It’s like I told you I’m over…

Chapter Three - An excerpt from long ago
Chapter Three – An excerpt from long ago
Tumblr media
Here is something I wrote over 20 years ago. A chapter from my first novel “The Afflictions of Job”
It’s a strange novel reflecting some of the things I was going through at the time.
  Chapter Three
It’s a rainy Sunday morning. Pollution haze paints prismatic violet and salmonella pink on the horizon where scarce golden escapes the eclipsing, flat bottom Geronimo clouds. I open my eyes to the…

THE CRICKET
By JMTjr
—With apologies and great admiration to Mr. Edgar Allen Poe. R.I.P.
It was her platinum blonde hair with silver highlights that stood out most in his memory about her. And that she was pale, thin and amazingly beautiful. He backtracked his thoughts. No not pale. Milky white.
Her name was Eleanor, but she went by Nellie. Or Nell. He called her Nellie and she seemed to be ok with it. She…

The Retirement of Frank Donahue
By Ian Foxx
It’d been a long night and I was bored as fuck. I’d been stalking my next target since 11 p.m. to get a feel for his movements so I could figure out the best time to cap him. I kept myself coked up enough to stay awake, but manageable. I followed him everywhere and he seemed like a nice enough guy. Even watched him do some pretty upright things and to be candid I started to feel a little sorry for him. Most guys I off deserve it in one way or another. But not this guy. His biggest mistake in life so far that I could see was hooking up with the money hungry bitch he married. But I have to distance myself from all of that. Even though I may have had a twinge of empathy I was getting paid to kill him. It was a job so I can’t judge. If I did that then I’d starve.
