[PIONEER TOWN ROMANCE]            Hello Gem Events and Floral orchestrated a magical wedding at the Rimrock Ranch in Pioneer Town, California.  Pioneer Town is known as a quiet desert retreat nestled near the San Gorgonio mountains about 50 minutes north of Palm Springs.  It’s become a hot place (pun intended) for hipsters and LA locals alike. There is a popular bar and indie rock venue called Pappy and Harriet’s that draws crowds by it’s unique location and vibe. With this draw comes weddings! There are a few popular venues up in PT, but Rimrock Ranch has been one of the most requested. It's 11 acres of pure desert awesomeness.             Enter Jen and Ed. A head-over-heels in love with each other couple from Los Angeles. My team and I (Jen Plus Colour - Hair + Makeup) showed up on the bright morning in June to work our magic on Ed, Jen and the bridal party. Jen has such a contagious laugh that when paired with her enthusiastic spirit is one that can not be matched. I was enamored with how kind everyone spoke of her, even when she was not in the room. Those who know Jen and Ed are the lucky ones.              Phillip and Aubrey Westlund bought their craft and vision to capture the love of this vibrant couple. They took extra care and created the insane images you just looked through. When asked which wedding venue is my favorite. I say the Frederick Loewe Estate. Every-single-time! With the perfect mix of modern luxury and mid-century modern architecture, the FLE is a one-of-a-kind estate that sits in the hills north of Vista Chino in Palm Springs.  I always arrive to a serene state when I see the breathtaking views of the Coachella Valley through the massive sliding doors of the exquisite master bedroom. The landscaping is beyond what you can even imagine for an intimate wedding. Anna and AJ are from New York, but feel in love with the estate and chose it for their romantic California wedding, And that’s where I came in (Jen Martens with Jen Plus Colour, Hair and Makeup)! I was able to help Anna create her dream wedding day hair and makeup and loved every minute of it! She wanted to enhance her natural beauty with a classic makeup look and complement her look with a side updo that appeared effortless and easy. I think we pretty much nailed the vibe. Every little detail sang, with the vision of design and planning team, Calvin and Vanessa with Jack and Ginger Studios. The dress was perfection by Mira Zwillinger, the florals were divine by Natalie with Native Poppy and the food was tasty by Heirloom LA and Cake Monkey Bakery. But, none of these magical moments would have been cemented in history, if it weren’t for Lauren Scotti Photography. I just LOVE the FLE and can’t wait to be back to help another bride on their special day.

Sarah and Brady [Joshua Tree romance]

What can I share about Sarah and Brady? maybe the fact that they are both super cool! I met up with Sarah on her wedding day at a private estate in Pioneer Town which is a small tiny town in the desert with a million dirt roads. it was a quiet morning and we got straight to work. A few things that I will never forget about their special day would be: The sign hanging in the house directed towards guests that reads “No horses in the house (yes, we have to write this)”. Brady actually was super hands on with the wedding design and decor. He made Sarah’s bouquet! HOW SPECIAL IS THAT! The lovely couple also chose to forgo any and all photos from their unique wedding ceremony. It was only their close friends and family that were present to experience the love. Photographer Katie McGihon arrived after to capture these breathtaking wedding photos. Thanks Sarah for trusting me with your hair and makeup.

Korakia Pensione [Wedded Bliss]

Ashley and Miguel were married at the magical Korakia on a warm summer day. I was contacted by the talented photographer Candice Benjamin for her sister’s wedding and couldn’t feel more special that she reached out to me for the big day,  I was slated to do her Ashley’s makeup and arrived to the enchanting room inside the boutique hotel located in the heart of Palm Springs. I had a great time helping Candice and Ashley when we heard the terrible news that Ashley’s hairstylist and best friend had to be rushed to the emergency room. I was able to work my skills and create this hairstyle for her just in the nick of time. I wasn’t on location when her BFF returned (feeling well enough to attend the wedding), but I was happy to know that he approved of her wedding hairstyle. What a gorgous wedding!  Every time I hear about a shoot that will be published, I jump on board! Who wouldn't want fantastic images of their work created for them?! You will find us in Palm Springs at a private estate for this inspired collaboration shoot for Palm Springs Style Magazine. The weather may have been sweltering hot (what else is new!) but we worked together to create memorable images. [New Hair, New Headshots!] I may have a "problem". I love changing the fun colors in my hair. Well, think about it, every time I change my color, I should change my headshot so new guests and clients can recognize me. Solution= no more changing my hair! JUST KIDDING! I guess the solution will be to have new pictures captured of me more often! (That doesn’t sound so bad). These amazing pictures were taken by a dear friend of mine, Nancy Zinzun. I work with her on the regular. Her, along with Chelsea Nicole did my makeup for this shoot. I felt so beautiful! Thanks girls!!

[Palm Springs Glam]

When Layne reached out to me to work with her team at Wink Weddings! I knew I HAD to! This was a shoot for the record books. We meet at the Kathy Ireland Private Estate in Palm Springs and soon everything fell into place. Josh Newton who was has been featured in Time magazine with his amazing wedding that had a wildfire break out near the ceremony was incredible to work with.
