I have resurrected my tumblr for this one shot of making this requrement, but that aside, the JSP class this semester was actually a really fun one. I learned something I thought I might be really bad at, but I at least got the basics down 

I remember going to Japan in new year’s of 2016, and it was quite the adventure - the subway itself is an adventure on its own! Still, I do remember most of it for its good food, because literally everything else was so expensive and 7-Eleven kombeni rice balls were a life saver. But hey, that’s one thing off the bucket list. I wish I can go back there and navigate through Tokyo with the basic Japanese grammar I know now.

Coming from someone who loves watching anime, and animation in general, I think it kind of adds to the experience when you fully understand a medium instead of just relying on subtitles, so it really does help in forming a new perspective around it! 

A good number of artists I follow online are Japanese, and they don’t speak much english aside from basic phrases so learning their language offers a way to both understand them and communicate with them more effectively. There are a lot of artists I’d like to learn from, so this really does help me build a better chance of being able to ask them about their process or just compliment them for their efforts.
