Kili/Tauriel and the sons of Durin forever. 1983 (Ya I am old). She/Her. Hyperfixated on Dwarves from The Hobbit. ISFP-T. Loves Everyone. Will cry at the drop of a hat if I even THINK someone doesn't like me.

I’m too busy and too lazy to draw something so I asked AI to do it because…I needed something to make me smile 😊. It did not disappoint. Totally AI. Is it problematical? Absolutely. Did this make me happy nonetheless because personally…I think my art is horrible and I can’t afford to pay someone to do it? Ya. lol. So here’s a cute AI image.

You think dating in your 30s is a thrift store…try entering your 40s still searching about. My only consolation is Tauriel was over 600 when she found her significant other…now a Kili is worth waiting for. 🤣😘

Wanted to draw these cuties ever since I’ve watched the Hobbit trilogy for the first time three years ago. If you have any amazing (long) fix-it fanfiction recommendations, please tell me. <3

I love them too!!! I ALMOST did this in my fic universe…but I didn’t lol. I do wonder what it would be like to make Tauriel a dwarven queen though. That would be epic. I adore her and Kili. He would for SURE proudly parade her around as his queen. 😍😍😍
Geeky stuff:
Skeptical as I am about movies (literally) going off book, I really fell for Kíli/Tauriel.
And I'm a sucker for "Kili lives" AU, especially when he lives and becomes King under the Mountain.
AND especially when he becomes King and married her!
Which is usually a big forbidden drama, you can't do that. Which is fine and fun.
Kinda wish there was more "dude, king scored an ELF"!! Like, achievement unlocked, great diplomacy move to unite Erebor and Mirkwood. And their children would combine dwarven and elven traits, including having special magics and a longer lifespan that would benefit the kingdom of Erebor.
Like, that sort of thing would be cool too.

SAMMMEEEEE. 😭😭😭. No matter HOW many times I watch the trilogy…I will sob every single time I watch it. And it’s not just you, I feel a much deeper connection to the characters in The Hobbit than I do in LOTR. I have no idea why, but I always have. And yes I’ve read the books too. This my comfort movie and these my comfort characters. The Hobbit trilogy will forever have my whole heart.

Finished the hobbit trilogy again 2 days ago. I still cry every damn time ^^' tbh I feel way more connected and attached to the hobbit characters then LOTR, idk why.
I actually prefer the first hobbit movie, (as someone who has read the book, yes we exist), I think it's more interesting and you get attached more easily to the story and characters. Also I think the deaths are more painful but I think that's just me (some of LOTR deaths are awful im not saying otherwise).
Anyway, I just needed to mourn. Again. I miss them

Ouch that poem hits hard. lol Tauriel…she’s perfect and I adore her. Thanks for the tag @unorthodox-oblivion
Tag @evenstaredits @curiouselleth and anyone else wanting to join.
An idea bit me in the shin
Take yourself out on a date with pinterest and type in, separately, the words 'poem' 'cow' 'garden' 'character' 'outfit' and 'hairstyle'. First picture for each goes in your inventory and imprints on your soul. I don't make the rules. Except I do. It's my game

Sigh. I needed this tonight. It brings me joy.
Inspired by that post about Thranduil being all defensive/protective over Gimli in Valinor:
We all know the head canon of Thorin being all "no nephew of mine even associates with an elf" BUT
Just imagine, in a world where all three Durins survived, and Tauriel saved Kili (again), and some other elf healed his and Fìli's wounds last minute.
Thorin saw both his nephews almost die before him, has LIVED through how the gold sickness twists the mind and perception of things, and after coming to terms with Bilbo's theft of the Arkenstone, he for a while questions EVERYTHING.
And yes, he totally has a dramatic phase of self pity, holing up in his rooms, drinking Elvish wine (cus thats all there is atm) and smoking Gandalf's pipeweed, and mourning how "everything i knew is a LIE" and "if elves can make such amazing wine there HAS to be some good in them" and "I almost got my boys killed I am such a failure boooohoooo", and after Bilbo kicks his ass out if depression (and a STRONG worded letter from his sister) he is like "okay FUCK y'all I have TRAUMA TM and will do WHATEVER I WANT!!"
So when Kili all shyly comes forward one day asking if Tauriel can please stay with them in the mountain because she's banished from the Woodland Realm he's all "OF COURSE she can stay, you do you my precious boy, if Thranduil is stupid enough to let such a great warrior go we'll stick it to him"
and BAM, Tauriel joins Dwalin in leading Erebor's guard, and Dwalin is torn between "excuse ME u want me to share my job with a pointy eared maiden?" And "holy hell that lass has fire can't show how impressed I am".
And Tauriel Takes No Shit even from her own boyfriend, so Kìli is forced to take his new responsibilities seriously because "I did NOT lose my home to live with a CHILD, Kili", and Fili gets dragged into the whole thing without really understanding what happened, but hey, his lil brother is happy so who cares really.
And whenever someone at council (like Dain) complains about an Elf in the mountain, Thorin goes absolutely FERAL like "are you saying I don't know what's best for this mountain I just won from A DRAGON?! are you suggesting that my perfect baby nephew has bad taste? Huh? Exactly, didn't think so!!!!" And is a protective Papa bear "listen Tauriel if someone gives you shit you SHOOT them. No, not killing them, but, you know, just maim them a little to make a point. Trust me I'm the king."
And once Kili and Tauriel have their first child Thorin constantly kidnaps the kid and has them in the forge before they can even talk because "need to keep up that good old dwarven influence".
Anyway I'll go cry myself to sleep now.

🤣🤣🤣🤣 “And a coward, do twenty.” I’m dead.
Kili: Do you think I can fit fifteen marshmallows in my mouth at once?
Thorin: you are a hazard to society

☝🏻☝🏻☝🏻⬆️⬆️⬆️⬆️ THISSSSSS!!! @anneangel I know you’re a complete stranger…but I LOVE you!!! I wish more people could see Tauriel in a better light. 😔
The Hobbit really did Tauriel dirty, for more reasons than one.
I like the fact that they added a pivotal female character into an otherwise male dominated movie. But as per usual, her purpose was of little more than to be a love interest for two attractive men, as much as the writers tried to pretend that wasn’t the case. After interacting with Kili a staggering number of three times, she’s head over heels in love and ready to turn her back on her own people - as well as kill her king - to save him. Despite the two of them being raised together, and Orlando Bloom himself saying that he sees their relationship as a sibling bond, the movie was recut to have Legolas crushing on her like an angsty teen, ready to throw everything away just to please her. Doesn’t even bat an eyelid when she’s ready to murder his own dad.
They could have easily included a strong female character without reducing Tauriel to a love interest. Don’t get me wrong, I’m not saying that women can’t fall in love and be strong characters at the same time, but given that most movies seem incapable of doing it right, I think it’s sometimes best to just not do it at all - especially for a book like The Hobbit, where romance is neither present nor necessary.
As is always with this trilogy, there was so much wasted potential.
