Scott Tibbs is such a peculiar character. Imagine starting your fifteen-minute home movie like “Hey, I’m a singer, and I’m investigating the death of my photographer friend because we fell out a while ago and I want him to know I still care” and ending it with “Hello mister jigsawrs, you killed my buddy and i love u for it. My name is Scotty T and I’m auditioning for the role of Your Son! Now watch me die on tape.”

Hello, I remember loving your TMA artworks on Twitter. I'm wondering if you still have the Angler Fish's human puppet bending at waist artwork which I thought was amazingly well done but doesn't seems to feature anywhere else once your Twitter account disappeared.

dumb headcanons
Whatever drama at school, Charlie TOTALLY tells ALL the cousins about it.
Like the cousins could be chilling (Erik is playing a game, Julia is cooking dinner, and Bobby is watching Erik play while petting Paco) then Charlie bursts inside and yells "GUESS WHO'S CHEATING ON STACY!"
And they immediately stop what they're doing, sit on the couch, and listen intently.

Yeah nevermind, DON'T watch the Clown In a Cornfield movie. Just read the books. Not a single thing that made the book as good as it is was kept in the movie.
The original reason for the killings? Dumbed down to the absolute max. Cole's backstory? Completely removed. Not even the opening flashback scene, the scene that SETS THE STAGE FOR THE MOTIVE AND THE BOOK AS A WHOLE was kept. Instead, it was switched to the classic 'drunk teenagers go into the corn to hook up and get slaughtered' horror movie opening. They didn't even keep the whole 'cull the rotten crop' motivation. THAT WAS THE WHOLE FUCKING POINT OF THE KILLINGS??? Literally WHAT is the point of killing five unruly teenagers. At least in the book Quinn getting targeted made sense. EVERYONE was getting targeted. It was a fucking PARTY.
WHAT is the point of Rust even being there if the producers are gonna cut everything else out anyways. I feel like they only kept his character for the whole 'he's actually gay' reveal. Which is FUCKING DUMB.
(Unless they plan on making another movie for the second book, in that case it would only make sense to keep his character. But I DOUBT that's gonna happen, because if they make a sequel they're gonna have to add in Jerri, which they can't do without completely changing her backstory)
WHY THE HELL did they have Cole and Quinn kiss?
And they made Glenn so ///////////////// ugh.
They completely butchered my favorite book series.
Like I get it's a movie and things have to get dumbed down and changed, but i'm actually upset. Especially considering how excited I was for the movie adaptation.
a/n- I know Eli Craig—the man that directed the movie adaptation—is pretty much known for directing comedy horrors, which is likely why it was made to be less serious and more joke-filled. Which I'm not mad at!
If I had just watched the movie without reading the books, I likely would have enjoyed it a lot more. But Clown In a Cornfield is way too good to be turned into a gag.
Oh, and why the FUCK was Janet played by a blonde white woman? I don't want to sound like one of those people who get their panties all in a bunch when a character isn't played by an actor of the same race, but if they can cast two black actors for caucasian roles (I'm black so i'm allowed to complain about that), why couldn't they stay true to the ONE minority's race?? Like the book blatantly states that Janet initially faced prejudice because of her being Asian, but you're gonna stick TWO black people in a town like KETTLE SPRINGS?
Alrighty thanks for reading my irritation-feuled essay, I'll try to stop adding on to this post now lol
#thank youuu#been seeing so much praise for the movie#and worse movies are out there#but I immediately ordered the books after seeing it with the mindset of 'surely they have to be better than that'#i burned through them and i've become obsessed#love those books so so much#and knowing how good things could have been just made me more angry at the movie#how did they manage to fuck up the characterisation of almost every character in the story also#it's almost impressive

I very much did not enjoy Clown in a Cornfield. For many reasons. But I'll be damned if that stopped me from reading the book. I read the first two books in about 48 hours and I'm now hyperfixated on them. Makes me sad that I still dislike the movie, but these are my newest little guys and I will be showing them to everyone in my life.
