Converse All*Stars - Chuck Taylors
Converse All-Stars, commonly known "Chuck Taylors" have been around since 1908. It wasn't until 1921 that the converse got the nickname "Chuck Taylors", when a professional  named Charles Chuck Taylor joined a basketball team called the Converse All-Stars and they regularly wore the shoes. He made a name for them and it stuck. Born in 1988 and thats still what I call my converse.
The shoe was designed by a high school student who was targeting professional basketball players as his audience and the shoe has had a dominant impact. It was the first shoe specifically made for basketball and changed the game forever.
Since the original chucks, only produced in black/white have come along way and many different color-ways are available today. check out some of the new "Chuck Taylor" designs below.

REEBOK PUMPS
Tumblr media
Reebok as a whole is a solid brand that has been providing athletic gear for athletes for years on end, but the reason for the post is the infinite Reebok Pumps. These shoes will be on shelves of shoe stores until the end of time. Reebok dropped the shoe in 1989 and they were a huge success for all of the 90's. the shoe has re-invented itself many times since then and continues to sell in stores and online.
Tumblr media
Reebok was the first company to drop a shoe with a inflatable inner linning to add extra support and tightness. The idea was welcomed by many NBA teams and players would wear them during games. since then the game time decision may have changed to the Nike Lebron James or Kobe Briant signature shoe, but the Reebok Pumps still remain a recognizable force in the shoe game. show love to the Reebok Pumps and go buy a pair.

VANS Shoes and Accessories
Tumblr media
The story and history of VANS is what makes the shoes such an interesting and enticing company to be apart of. Coming out of Anaheim California, brothers Paul Van Doren and James Van Doren, and three other partners opened the first VANS store. Customers could go directly to the manufacturer and buy their shoes that were made earlier that day.
Tumblr media
Although, Vans was contracted by the U.S. department of defense and the U.S. Air Force to produce shoes, skateboarders and surfers in the southern California area began to buy the shoes because of the sticky gum sole that made it easier for riders to grip their boards. In 1966 the first VANS shoes were made, and by the 70's every surfer and skateboarder in southern California was wearing the new VANS shoes.
Tumblr media
In 1975, professional skateboarders Tony Alva and Jessie Peralta designed a new type of VANS shoe. One that had different color patterns and fabric design than the original VANS. Today, the shoe is called the Era and is still being worn by skaters all over the world.
Tumblr media
Since then VANS have expanded to all over the world and has been sold several times since the Van Doren brothers sold the company in 1988. Most recently the company was sold for nearly 400 million dollars. The children of Paul Van Doren are still with the company today.

Nixon Watches
Nixon has been killing it in the watch game for years now. From CCS and small stock loads to multimillion dollar company. The Streetwear Society has been on board with the Nixon brand since its original drop of the Player watch.
Tumblr media
A little history on the company: Nixon was founded by Andy Laats and Chad DiNenna in Encinitas, California. The company began a small line of custom built team watches that were distributed to surf, skate, and snow stores and team rides around California. In 2000 Nixon expanded to accessories and limited softgoods, and spread out to 25 different countries worldwide and is now part of Billibong International. In 2006 Nixon was purchased by Billibong International for 54 million dollars.
Tumblr media
The brand has always been cutting edge and ahead of its time, setting the trends for others to follow in the watch game. We love the originality and and flashiness of the Nixon 51/30 and the 42/20 models. They are straight baller.

DIAMOND SUPPLY COMPANY
As the fraise goes “Diamonds are a girls best friend” and in this company’s case, they are every skateboarder and street wear activist best friend too. The cutting edge clothing company is at the top of its game. Look around any skateboarding convention, rap concert; almost anywhere in California you are likely to see the diamond logo.
Skateboarder and designer Nick Tershay started Diamond Supply Company in 1998. Since then the sky has been the limit. After creating the catchy and lovable logo of the diamond, which was printed on shirts sold in skate shops and out of the back of his car. Nicky hit it big with his collaboration with Nike SB in 2008. This was one of the most popular Nike shoe ever sold. This release had shoe enthusiasts waiting for hours in order to get the limited supply of Diamond Supply Company x Nike SB collaboration. This explosive release is where the company owner truly got his nickname “Nicky Diamonds”
Diamond Supply is also known for sponsoring a world renoun skateboarding team. Names like Eric Koston, Paul Rodriguez, Stevie Williams, Terrry Kennedy, Bob Berquist, Kareem Campbell. Diamond Supply company has also been seen around the hip hop scene, worn by rappers such as Lil Wayne, Lupe Fiasco, and Tony Yayo.
Diamond Supply Company differentiates from its competitors by strategic product placement and collaborating with only the best of the best. Identifying itself right there with other high caliber brands set a bold statement that this is not just another clothing company but a real brand that was going to be around to drop the illest gear every season.
