What's going on with Jimpluff? Why is the blog slow?

When I lived in Japan, I had a fairly busy full-time job, but there was also plenty of downtime where I could blog from my phone.

After that, I was in arts grad school. During the COVID/post-COVID era, I was working but only about as much as I needed to live on, as I was focusing on writing and publishing.

I didn't want to take another full-time position I didn't think would connect to a long-term career. But now I have that, so I've been a bit busy.

Plus, there's just not as much to report on. The online Godzilla fan reporting world has really taken off, so any MonsterVerse news is quickly and thoroughly covered. News from Japan recently is more sparse and can also be (mostly, reasonably well) deciphered with machine translation.

For the stuff that's harder to instant-translate, I'll still try to find time to dive in deeper. And when niche topics that merit a little more research emerge, I'll still try to tackle those. And if I'm on the ground in Japan again during a release, you can bet I'll bring stuff you won't see much of anywhere else. Stay tuned, who knows?

All that's to say, my attention is mostly elsewhere for the moment, and I'm not going to be one of those "content creators" just for the sake of creating "content."
