one thing i respect about fanfic writers is you can give them a protagonist who’s a complete badass, spends their days jumping from one adventure to the other, just a totally emotionally unavailable action hero, and someone somewhere will still go ‘they’re married, here’s a fluffy domestic fic of them making breakfast in bed for their spouse fuck your canon’

Makoto and Arashi Uzumaki

Despite being very different in personality, with Makoto being more outgoing and rebelious, and Arashi being a bit more soft spoken and shy, out of all their siblings Makoto and Arashi are closest to each other. Being the youngest boys, growing up they spent most of their time together playing and exploring. Even with Makoto starting the academy while Arashi stays at home, it has only brought them closer together, with Makoto picking up his younger brother every afternoon after school and taking him out into town.

Arashi is Makoto’s partner in crime, and has taken to painting walls and other public spots with his older brother. Arashi is rtaher wary though of a growing gambling problem his brother’s taken up, as his brother likes to place bets with his classmates after school and while they explore the village.

Recently, Makoto’s been dragging Arashi with him to the local tattoo parlor, much to their mother’s annoyance, and has taken to drawing imitations on his arms and legs during school hours. Arashi instead likes to make his brother take him into the forests and wooded areas near the park where they can try and find new kinds of fauna.

I wanted to write up my take on Arashi, and one of my original ocs Makoto. I really like how in the NS fandom theres a lot of different interpretations of Shinachiku and his siblings. Mako is a personal favorite of mine… I just think he’s so fun. He tries not to be, but he’s kind of a bad influence on his baby brother. Despite everything tho, they’re really best friends.

I know he’s a soldier and doesn’t show emotions and stuff, but I would have LOVED to see Link break down in tears after recovering his memories and realizing all his friends, who were supposed to be undefeatable champions, are all dead, hyrule is destroyed and Zelda is gone. BOTW is already amazing, but I feel like that sudden emotion, that crumble of resolve, would have made the experience all the more emotional and the ganon fight so much more intense (since it ended up being a bit lackluster compared to other incarnations). Sort of like how Zelda cried in one of the last memories in Links arms?
