AI
The over arching idea of this passage is about the potential, and achieved power of the connections between workers/companies who use AI compared to those who don’t. Artificial Intelligence has lots of possibilities from new ideas, faster response time and help overcome the fast adapting landscape of the economy. Lakhani explains that there is an important “learning imperative” in some companies which do not know how to or correctly harness the powers that AI holds. This is a big part in the companies not being able to adapt to changes. He also includes example of how Uber and Amazon utilize AI to make their business so much faster responding to consumers and in turn making it more user friendly. Really we don’t know the full power of AI yet and it could be used to battle more important problems with the world such as healthcare and education.
On a personal note I think that the idea of AI is super powerful and a key to the future but also at the same time pretty scary since we aren’t able to comprehend the full power of it. Additionally, the advancements we have seen have blown up over the recent years, with even daily apps like Snapchat and Instagram embedding in AI bots. I think the most scary thing about AI is how they are able to produce photos, videos and even steal people’s voices and make them say whatever the user wants.

Scratch
The main take away from these passages I realized is that coding is something human society needs to live their daily life and also adapt to the future. Whether it is coffee machines, facial recognition, or more serious topics of exploring other planets and deciphering enemies codes during time of war, these all are built on the basic principles of coding. For the most basic things like coffee machines, setting a timer for your coffee to be made, you are providing the machine an input to translate and carry out the task. However with all this upside in recent years younger adults, mainly in college and high school fail to see the need and success in this field and are starting to drop out or veer away from the subject. For example one of my best friends is majoring in computer science and was often met with regards of “Why are you choosing that major?” or “What are you going to do with that once you graduate?”. Being a very hard scope of study it also has a lot of real world applications in nearly all fields of work. All in all, coding and those who create codes have created a ton of innovation for our society and will hope to build on more as we continue to advance and explore.

Hound Dog
The main differences between the versions of the songs are the tones and the changes in lyrics between each version. They all assert a sense of dominance over the “hound dog”. The difference is the sense of tone in which the one by Big Mama Thornton is sang in somewhat of a sassy way, saying the “hound dog” is not what it stated it is and isn’t going to “feed it anymore”. Basically this translates to the person she is talking about lies about how they are and Big Mama Thornton realizes he’s lying and is going to cut him off. In Elvis Presleys version is sang in his generic upbeat joyful tone with basically the same exact lyrics as Big Mama Thornton. The most different song is Doja Cats take on “Hound Dog” with her song called “Vegas”. Her song is sang in a vengeful way, she adds plenty of her own verses to thing song practically saying she is the prize and doesn’t deserve a lackluster man she is describing.
Another instance of this that comes to mind is “I Will Always Love You” by Dolly Parton and Whitney Houston. Although they have similarities between them the lyrics and how they are delivered add that variance but still have the same message overall.

Amanda Gorman’s poem, “The Hill We Climb” was banned because it seemed to hint at critical race theory that seemed to send “indirect hate messages” as stated in the article. Gorman’s main concerns with her poem being banned was the possible breach of her first amendment right and that this is usually targeted at “queer and non-white voice”. The main things among other books that are frequently banned are topics such as sexually explicit content, especially in the form of children’s books. It also includes ideas of throwing over the current government structure or going against the government. Additionally the last large topics are books specifically about race and also writings about very detailed events often unsuitable for the reader, similar to “Maus” by Art Spiegelman which talks deeply about the holocaust depicting the Jews as mice. The long-term consequences of banning books can possibly lead to things like young adults not understanding the bigger picture of the world and not hearing the voices from all over and all social aspects of the hierarchy.

The main two take aways I had from the article and the Ted Talk is to understand there is always more too be done and to be content with the process-oriented over result-oriented. This goes for everything in life, to understand there is more to be done can be put into your career, hobbies, relationships and all things in between. With the understanding and contentment that one is not at the point they want to be and can be always for a deeper depth into all aspects. In podcast they call this the “Yes, and” concept and builds on the idea that there is always more to be added similar to how we are influenced in class with our podcasts. The other takeaway I got from these sources piggyback off of this concept as it is about the process not the results right away. At times brainstorming and rough drafts can take hours and hours of repetition. This is important in our life because it causes us to understand to not got frustrated or annoyed by one little mishap when you can look at the whole picture and see all the progress being made.

Song Titles as Research
The listed song titles and research papers go hand in hand for the fact that in the song I chose "Am I Wrong?" by Nico & Vinz it is portraying consistent in the lyrics over asking themselves questions about there life styles and love life. In the articles about research papers it is constantly talking about how important it is to ask yourself question to allow flow of thoughts and methods to write and format your writings. In relation to the song I would use qualitative research to format a writing piece about it. Since everyones ideal lifestyle and love life goals differ from person to person it can have different answers as where quantitative would use numbers to solidify this knowledge. All in all, plenty of songs have titles stating questions to get the listeners mind more intriuged into the lyrics where as asking yourself 'what', 'why' and other questions along the line can get the writers mind flowing to formulate a page.

The Book of Delights - Ch. 22 and 23
Lily on the Pants - The chapter explains how things you love whole heartedly can both destroy you or make your life fulfilled to the max. In relation to my life, it is the joys and hardships through baseball for me. The joys include anxiety filled games and championship seasons. Although these are great feats they would not be as much appreciated by me if it wasn't for my injuries I endured to make me miss my Sophomore season. This taught me that every moment on the field in high school is sacred and it flies by. With that knowledge it made the highs feel that much more amazing than it would have normally.
Sharing a Bag - This narrative paints the picture of two individuals helping one another carry a bag in Chinatown. How this meaningless act thay can be done on ones own is completed by two people which create a near perfect unision within themselves. Something I feel like relates to this is when you are at work and you finish your station early so you go help clean somewhere else. In this specific example of my life the area being cleaned represents the bag and the workers creating a flow to clean the area are the synchronized steps. While both these tasks are so easily doable by one person the addition of another creates a more effortless, efficient and a more enjoyable way to life.

Big Fish, Small Pond/Small Fish, Big Pond
To begin I believe it is a greater opportunity to be a small fish in a big pond. One can only grow and develop as big as the environment and the other around them. While being the biggest fish in a smaller system may provide a boost of self esteem, once you are removed and placed into a larger body you will feel insufficient. Something personally I related hand in hand was high school baseball. My freshman year I felt I was going to play a prominent role on the varsity team and thought I was going to be the best player in my class from what I was already exposed to. However, I was in surprise when I discovered there were two kids that were “bigger fish” than me already. Although it might have felt amazing about the fact that I was not the best at that time, it pushed me to get better as I pushed them too. As I developed bonds with them we wound up growing together and as a team to become a greater system. This proved itself when we won the State Championship in 2023 and 2024. Mainly, this is the one thing in my life that taught me it is never a bad thing to not be the best and always look for ways to develop and grow with your “pond”

The snippet from “Hamilton” and the Constitution YouTube video show how an implementation of rules helps to establish what is allowed and regulated across a group of people. While this shows a large scale representation of this by setting boundaries for United States citizens, the thing I think that closely relates to this in my life is classroom syllabus and the student handbook. With the school year starting back up, these resources lay out the guidelines for students on material and behavior order for the class and the school as a whole. Similarly, to one another these principles had to be set so everyone in that said community had similar ideology and the right way of taking action.

The thing I love about this podcast is how he takes a deeper dive into a daily item and realizes its how intricate it can be. He realizes how even something as simple as a pizza box has flaws and can be tweaked. There for I came up with this new Pizza box allows parents not only a convient dinner option but also an accessory for their children to wear off some of those calories they just ate.
New Airplane Pizza Boxes allows deconstruction of the boxes to be turned into two different paper airplanes.
