Summary: I’ve known Namjoon since we were children, I love all his friends except for one, Jeon Jungkook. Why does he think he is trying to kiss me randomly?
A/N: I am so blown away by the support over this fic, I never expected the feedback it got. It makes me so very happy that people enjoy my writing! <3
You wake up slightly hazy. The last thing you remember is locking yourself in Jin’s bedroom. As you glance around, you realize with a jolt—you’re no longer in Jin’s room. Confusion washes over you as you take in your unfamiliar surroundings.
Once your vision clears, you recognize the plain, neutral decor. It’s Namjoon’s room. Relief floods through you, especially when your eyes land on Namjoon, slumped over and fast asleep on a beanbag chair. A soft smile tugs at your lips. He gave up his bed for you. Typical Namjoon—always considerate.
You push off the blanket (which he probably placed on you), stretching with a satisfied groan before padding toward the bathroom attached to his room. The cold tiles against your feet wake you up further as you lock the door behind you. You glance at the sink, where your toothbrush—the one Namjoon insisted you keep here—rests in its usual spot.
He was just like that: thoughtful, maybe overly so. Always looking out for you, worrying about what you did and who you did it with. It’s sweet, but there’s no way you’re telling him what happened last night.
After brushing your teeth, you rinse the toothbrush and put it back in its spot. You turn off the water, unlock the door, and return to Namjoon’s room. As usual, it’s plain and neutral—borderline boring.
“You really need some decor,” you mutter under your breath, recalling the countless times you’ve teased him about it. “No wonder you haven’t hooked up since sophomore year.”
Not that it’s your business, but lately, he’s been acting... different. Protective. Like not letting Jin or Jimin roughhouse with you the way they used to. It’s almost sweet, if not a little strange.
Shaking off the thought, you return to the beanbag chair where Namjoon is still fast asleep. A mischievous grin spreads across your face. Crouching down, you start squishing his cheeks relentlessly, poking and prodding until he stirs.
Namjoon jolts awake with a gasp, eyes wide and searching for the culprit. When he spots you, his face softens into a tired, exasperated glare.
“Really?” he mumbles, voices groggy.
You can’t help but laugh. It’s too early for either of you to be awake, but you don’t mind. Not when it’s Namjoon.
“You know, you didn’t have to give up your bed,” you tease, softly poking Namjoon’s cheek with your finger. “I’m sure Jin wouldn’t have minded sharing with me.”
Namjoon scoffed, letting out a puff of air—a clear sign of his frustration. “Jin wouldn’t have been able to,” he muttered, the words stumbling out awkwardly, “cuddle with you. He… uh, found himself preoccupied and needed the extra room you were taking up.”
His words hung in the air, but what caught your attention was the flicker of emotion in his chocolate-brown eyes. At first, it was hard to pin down—an emotion tangled with jagged threads of frustration. But there was something else, skating on the edges of jealousy. No, that couldn’t be right. There was just no way.
You must have seen wrong. There was no way Namjoon was jealous. It had to be the sleepiness in his eyes—or maybe the dim lighting playing tricks on you.
As his words sank in, you found yourself frozen, staring up at him in disbelief. Jin got with someone last night?
“Joonie, you said Jin got with someone? Was it Jennie? I remember him being into her last semester,” you asked your tone light with curiosity. You genuinely wanted to know—partly because you’d been rooting for them since freshman year, ever since you introduced them. You’d always had a hunch that Jennie had a crush on Jin, and honestly, you hoped it was true.
In the dim light, you could just barely make out Namjoon as he stirred. He blinked slowly, rubbing at his eyes before stretching his arms upward, his silhouette shifting against the shadows. His back arched briefly before he slumped down again with a groggy sigh.
“I think it might’ve been Jennie,” he mumbled, his voice low and uncertain. “But honestly, I was so out of it from all the beer pong and soju shots going around. It could’ve been anyone. I didn’t really pay much attention.”
Though the darkness hid most of his expression, you caught the faintest hint of hesitation in his tone. When he spoke again, there was an almost apologetic edge to his words, soft but sincere.
You puffed your cheeks, pouting like a child trying to get their way. But before you could say anything, Namjoon leaned forward and poked your cheek, deflating the air you were holding with an amused smirk.
“Stop acting like a brat,” he teased, his tone light but firm. “Or I’ll throw you to Yoongi. And we both know he’ll shut down your attitude in no time.”
The color drained from your face as you recalled all the twisted punishments Yoongi had doled out to you in the past. It was no secret that Min Yoongi, though a quiet man who kept to himself, carried an essence that both men and women found undeniably alluring. But despite his appeal, he had little patience for spoiled brats—and you were no exception.
Your mind flashed back to the first time you were “thrown to Yoongi.” It was sophomore year. While you’d known of him before, your interactions had been brief and impersonal. That day, however, was different. Jin, fed up with your antics and unable to deal with you himself, had tossed you Yoongi’s way because Namjoon was busy preparing for finals. The reason? You had been an absolute, unapologetic pest.
You shake your head incessantly, “Don’t even joke about that! Yoongi is a last resort option, and I’m not even being that much of a pest!” There isn’t a whole lot that strikes fear into you, Min Yoongi is definitely close at it, though.
At seeing your reaction, Namjoon lets out a hearty laughter that feels like being held by the sun, it feels so warm and welcoming.
“You’re acting like Yoongi is gonna hang you up like a piñata, like he did in sophomore year. You should know by now he won’t go that extreme. He’d probably just tie you up with Christmas lights to use as the tree topper.”
“You say it so casually like that’s somehow a better option,” you muttered dryly, narrowing your eyes into slits as the creeping sunlight threatened to blind you without consent.
Before you could dwell on Namjoon’s teasing any longer, a steady knock echoed through the room, followed by a familiar voice—it was Taehyung.
Without thinking, you bolted toward the door, your movements awkward and unsteady, like a newborn foal trying to find its legs.
When you reached the door and pried it open, you didn’t even bother to confirm it was Taehyung on the other side. Without hesitation, you threw yourself into their arms, expecting the familiar comfort of a soft yet semi-muscular chest.
Instead, you collided with a much firmer build—solid and unyielding, like one of those memory foam pillows on Jimin’s bed. You let out a whiny sound in protest at your miscalculation. “Whoever this is, it’s definitely not Taehyung,” you grumbled grouchily, still pressed against the unfamiliar chest.
When you finally tilted your head up, you were met with none other than Jungkook’s chiseled, amused face. His grin only widened at your predicament.
To make matters worse, in your peripheral vision, you spotted Taehyung barely holding back his laughter, his shoulders shaking with barely contained amusement.
“For someone who avoids me like the plague, you’ve got a funny way of showing it,” Jungkook drawled smoothly, his voice dripping with sickly-sweet honey. His eyes glimmered with a dangerous mix of amusement and promises laced with lust-filled magic.
You quickly put some distance between yourself and Jungkook, crossing your arms defensively. “Don’t flatter yourself,” you said coolly. “I heard Taehyung outside and wanted to give him all my attention. I, unfortunately, miscalculated your presence joining him.”
Your tone was sharp and sour, like the screech of a violinist striking the wrong note at an orchestra concert. Your nose wrinkled in disgust, and your eyes bore into Jungkook with a venomous glare. Your body language was no better—rigid and tense, practically radiating acidic disdain, as if it could lash out like a whip at any moment.
Jungkook just smiled—but not in the cocky, self-assured way you were used to seeing when he flirted with girls at frat parties. This smile was different. It was softer, quieter, and oddly genuine. It suited his face in a way that made you pause, the warmth in it reminiscent of something out of a storybook, the kind of smile that felt like it belonged in the pages of a romance novel.
“Unfortunately for you, angel, I didn’t come here to flirt,” Jungkook said smoothly, his words dripping with charm. His focus was on you for one intense moment, but then he turned to Namjoon, locking eyes with him and radiating confidence.
“Oh, gracious leader!” Jungkook teased, a mischievous grin tugging at his lips. “Hobi needs your assistance downstairs. He would’ve come himself, but I was already headed up here to change into something more athletic. Tae’s waiting on me to teach him the basics of boxing.”
As he said this, Jungkook slung his arm casually around Taehyung’s shoulders, tugging him closer with an easy confidence, the movement perfectly punctuating his statement.
Had you been alone, you swear you would’ve rung his neck, where does he pull the audacity to even think you wanted him to flirt with you, the expression on your face was extremely dumbfounded. You were yanked out of your thoughts by Namjoons sigh of annoyance.
"Thanks for the heads-up, Kook,” Namjoon said, slipping into his leadership role effortlessly, his tone authoritative but calm as always. As president of Beta Tau, he knew how to take charge even in casual situations.
He rose from the beanbag chair, stretching before heading to the closet to grab a set of clothes. You watched him, appreciating how natural it was for him to switch into his "president" mode. It was comforting—something you’d seen him do for years. You and Namjoon had always shared this kind of unspoken understanding, like family.
Jungkook, on the other hand, lingered in the background, his arms crossed as he observed the exchange between you and Namjoon. His gaze flicked to you, then to Namjoon, lingering just a bit too long on both. His expression was hard to read, but something in the air felt different now.
“You and Namjoon go way back, huh?” Taehyung asked, nudging you lightly. He was his usual playful self, smiling wide. You nodded, a small smile tugging at your lips. “Yeah, since we were kids.
He’s more like a brother to me, really.”Taehyung chuckled, clearly entertained. “That’s awesome. Must be nice to have someone like that around here.”
He leaned back against the doorframe, stretching lazily. "I’ve only known Namjoon since joining Beta Tau, but I can tell he’s always got things under control."You agreed, but before you could speak further, you noticed Jungkook’s gaze sharp on you, though his expression remained neutral.
He was quiet for a moment, almost like he was thinking something over. You couldn’t shake the feeling that something had shifted. Taehyung was oblivious to the tension, clearly enjoying the conversation, but you could feel the subtle shift in the room.
It wasn’t a big change, but Jungkook’s stance seemed a little stiffer, his eyes darting between you and Taehyung before he spoke up again.
“Yeah, ‘under control’—that’s one way to put it," Jungkook said, his voice smooth, but there was a slight edge to it. "But sometimes it’s nice to let loose a little, don’t you think?”You weren’t sure if he was talking about Namjoon, you, or himself, but his words hung in the air.
The tension between you two, though still subtle, was palpable. Taehyung, still oblivious, grinned. “Yeah, that’s what I’m talking about! We definitely need to have more fun around here. Maybe we’ll get to that after the workout, yeah?” He gave you a quick wink.
Jungkook didn’t answer immediately, his gaze lingering on you a moment longer than comfortable before he spoke. "Sure, if you're down."Namjoon reemerged from the bathroom, now dressed in his usual casual attire. He ruffled your hair lightly as he passed by. “I’ll be back soon. You know where to find me if you need anything.”
As Namjoon headed downstairs, the energy in the room shifted, the conversation falling into a slightly more awkward silence. Jungkook was still standing close, his body language unreadable but almost... possessive?
"So," Taehyung broke the quiet, looking at you and Jungkook with a mischievous grin. "What do we do now, huh?"You glanced between them, sensing the new, unspoken dynamic in the room.
The presence of Namjoon’s leadership and Jungkook's tension had made things feel a little more complicated, but it was clear that Taehyung, ever the carefree spirit, wasn't bothered by any of it.

kiss me in the dark (1) | jjk
Pairing: Jungkook x reader, slight Namjoon x reader
Genre: College/Frat House AU, Fluff, Enemies to Lovers, Angst
Warnings: Mentions of drinking, possible smut, kind of seedy behavior in this first part.
Rating: 17+
Words: 1,931
Summary: I’ve known Namjoon since we were children, I love all his friends except for one. Jeon Jungkook. Why does he think he is trying to kiss me randomly?
A/N: Honestly, this could go very badly since I haven’t written since 2018, so bear with me, please? (Update: It's 2024 now, and I am finally reviving this fic, I also chose to fix any grammar issues. Bye for now!!)
--
You walked into your shared apartment-style dorm, you had no urge to be social whatsoever; all you craved was to be smothered by all your pillows and fall into an eternal sleep. You were 5 feet from entering your sanctuary before being ambushed by your roommate, Jennie.
“Y/N, it’s finally over! Midterms are done with now we can go and celebrate after all that hard work!” Jennie yelled as she wrapped herself around you and held you tightly.
You were startled abruptly by the way Jennie wrapped herself around you, so you lost your footing and caused yourself and Jennie to fall across the couch.
You huffed and stared at Jennie and said, ”Jennie, I’m tired... I don’t really want to go out and get sloshed..”Jennie looked at you with her pouty puppy face and basically begged, ”But Y/N Beta Tau is hosting a party! We have to go plus, I know you miss Namjoon and the boys!”
You knew Jennie was right, you did miss spending time with Namjoon, he was your best friend basically; you even missed Yoongi and his cocky self.
“Jennie, that’s not fair... using the boys against me like that... If I go to this party, will you promise me you’ll let me sleep in until now?” You grouchily ask your sweet roommate.
“I absolutely promise I’ll let you sleep in! Hell, I’ll even let you sleep in until 2 PM!” Jennie yells eagerly in response. You smirk at that response, looking forward to being able to sleep to your heart’s content.
“Just let me get ready, I refuse to see Namjoon and the rest of the boys with gross midterm hair!” I say in a joking manner as you shove Jennie off of yourself playfully.
Once you were able to escape Jennie’s clutches, you ran straight for your room so you’d be able to get ready peacefully, and that is exactly what you did after you took a much-needed shower. As you rummaged through your closet, you decided on a pair of light-wash ripped jeans and a black bandeau top.
On the way to the party, you balance yourself on the edge of the sidewalk and ask, ”So, is Suzy meeting us there tonight?” You almost slipped multiple times while asking that question.
Jennie huffed as she watched you anxiously, ” No, no, she’s spending the weekend with her boyfriend. Hey! Be careful, I don’t want to be the person to have to explain to Namjoon that you cracked your head open because you were being reckless!”
“Well, it’s a good thing I didn’t crack my head open then, now you won’t have to say a word.” I said as you leaned away from the ledge and walked normally, “Are you planning on hooking up with anyone tonight?” You asked as you watched all the fellow college students move about, most likely attending different parties.
Jennie turns to look at you as you both make a left turn, “If the offer presents itself, then sure, but if it doesn’t, I probably won’t.”
You looked at Jennie, admiring her beauty and confidence. She really knew how to carry herself, and you definitely have a lot of respect for her, “Jen, you're such a confident and beautiful woman, you will most definitely find someone to hook up with.”
Jennie smiled at you as she said, “I mean, I know I could hook up with someone, but I’m just kind of tired of hooking up with random guys. I think I just want a stable relationship, I mean, we’re juniors, so we only have one more year here.”
As you got closer to the frat house, the deep conversation was starting to come to a close, “No, I totally get it! I get like that, too. Sometimes, I just want to be in a relationship, but as of right now, I am fine with it just being me!”
You and Jennie arrived at the front of the frat houses shortly after that conversation ended, at the entrance, you were greeted by Jin, “Y/N, wow, Definitely didn't expect to see you here!”
“Yeah, Jennie had me come here against my will, I would very much prefer to be in my comfy bed right now,” You said with a pouty expression.
After hearing your response, Jin laughed loudly, ”Still as lazy as ever, I see.” You pout teasingly before asking, "Hey, do you know where Namjoon is?”
“I think he’s either in the kitchen or playing beer pong with Hobi, ”Jin replied with a stretch. Upon hearing Jin’s response, you turn over to look at Jennie, “You don’t mind, right? If I go see Namjoon?”
Jennie rolled her eyes at your question, ”No, I don’t mind silly. Go on, go spend time with Namjoon. I know you miss him like crazy. Don’t worry about me, dummy, I’ll be fine. If it makes you feel any better, I’ll be here keeping Jin company until he gets tired of me.”
You laughed at Jennie’s response, ”Alright, alright, I’ll let you be by yourself for a bit. If I can’t find you later, meet me in Jin’s room,” After getting Jennie’s response, you ran off to go find Namjoon.
It didn’t take long to find him either, he was in the living room area playing beer pong with Hobi, they were playing against two other frat brothers. You ran up behind Namjoon and wrapped your arms around him, ”Nammie! I missed you so much!”
Namjoon jumped slightly before realizing that the arms around him were yours, “Yah, Y/N, I missed you too. I wish you wouldn’t scare the life out of me, though,” You grinned mischievously at his jumpy response before sticking your tongue out at him.
After you let go of Namjoon, you decided to watch them play a few rounds of beer pong. Even though you didn’t particularly enjoy parties all that much, you still appreciated them for being able to allow you to spend more time with Namjoon, Jennie, and the rest of the boys.
Out of the corner of your eye, you saw none other than Jeon Jungkook. You weren’t that big of a fan of him, to be honest, though you didn’t really know him that well either.
When you were first introduced to Namjoon’s frat brothers, Jungkook wasn’t around, and he never showed himself when you hung out with the others. What you did know about him, though, was that he had a huge habit of messing around with women, using them to his heart’s content, then just chucking them aside as if they were nothing at all.
At first, you didn't notice it, but Jungkook was actually looking in your direction. Initially, you thought nothing of it, you thought it was maybe because his next target was behind you, but upon further inspection, you came to the awful conclusion that you were his target.
You felt absolutely uncomfortable with the intense gaze that Jungkook was directing towards you, it was as if you were the only person in the room to him. Under normal circumstances, that would've been absolutely adoring, but since it was coming from Jungkook, it left a sour aftertaste in your mouth.
You let Namjoon know you were going to head over to the bathroom for a bit, you just had to get away from Jungkook’s piercing gaze. You tried to maneuver through the crowd of college students, most of them drunk. Eventually, you made it to a bathroom, once you were inside, you proceeded to lock the door to make sure no one accidentally came in. You groaned frustratingly as you walked over to the sink and proceeded to splash your face with cold water.
You shivered slightly at how cold the water was, after you were done splashing your face, you reached for a face towel. As you dried your face, you just couldn’t get over how soft the towel was you could just sleep on this towel and be content.
You decided to stay in the bathroom for a while before making the decision to head out to go back to Namjoon. Once you finally got yourself under control, you sighed as you put up the towel before turning towards the door and decided to tap your fingers across the surface of it before choosing to open it, you weren’t expecting to see anyone behind the locked door, so you were pretty surprised to see Jungkook there.
Upon seeing who was waiting for you on the other side of the door, you stepped back slightly, “Sorry, didn’t mean to make you wait, I’ll just get out of your way,” You tried to maneuver your way out of the door, even though Jungkook wasn’t giving you much room to get out fast enough.
You were almost out of that uncomfortable situation before you suddenly felt a hand wrap itself around your wrist, it stopped you from going any further. You looked back to see that Jungkook was holding onto your wrist; his hand was slightly warm, but it wasn’t sweaty in any way. “Is there something I could help you with? If not, could I have my hand back?” You say as you stare at his wrist in a confused manner.
“Oh, sorry... I was just curious as to how you know Namjoon-hyung?” Jungkook asked curiously, but you noticed that looked in his eyes, he was eyeing your body with a lust-filled gaze.
You gulped nervously before saying, “We grew up as childhood friends, I’ve known him my whole life.”
Jungkook stepped forward before saying, “Sorry if I’m being intrusive, I’ve just never seen you around before at the frat house.”
You huffed before saying, “I’ve been to the frat house, you’re just never there when I visit.”
To create some distance between Jungkook and you started to move backward, but it was short-lived, though, because your back touched the wall, “Maybe I should hang out at the frat house more often then,” Jungkook said with a smirk as he reached his other hand out to caress the left side of your face, his hand roamed until the tips of his fingers are grazing your lip.
“Jungkook, what’re you doing?” You asked nervously, as you knew what was about to happen.
“I’m just talking to a beautiful girl in the bathroom, I have no idea what you're talking about,” Jungkook said as he leaned down and pressed a searing kiss onto your lips. You were and weren't expecting it, but now that it had happened, you didn’t know what to do with yourself. All you could focus on was the velvet softness of his kiss. Jungkook was an extremely good kisser.
You didn’t realize it at the moment, but you were also kissing him back with such fervor, you were kissing Jungkook with such neediness if anyone walked on this, you would be truly embarrassed.
When you realized what you were even doing, you managed to snap out of the heady, cloudy sensation and push Jungkook away from you. You were so upset over the fact that he kissed you, and you dared to kiss him back, that you slapped him through the red blazing anger that blinded your logical side from peeking through.
Once you realized what you had done, you ran out of the corridor; you didn’t even go back to see Namjoon, you just felt so disgusted with yourself that you ended up running up into Jin’s room, you managed to lock the door and hide underneath his comforters.

The sign of high quality is the fact the book was banned by the government. Trash literature NEVER EVER had any troubles with the law.
