These are some burning questions that I will be answering in this particular article. The Federal Trade Commission which is also known as the FTC is an independent agency of the government of the United States of America and it aims to protect consumers and also ensure a strong and competitive market by enforcing the consumer protection laws.

As you can tell, the FTC plays a very important and vital role in the smooth working of consumers and consumer protection law. The very principle purpose of the FTC is to enforce all non-criminal anti-trust laws in the United States of America, by completely preventing and eliminating anti-competitive business practises, which also include coercive monopoly. The FTC has been famous for seeking to protect all kinds of consumers from any kind of misleading business practises or business predators who aim to cheat people on a daily basis.
Let me talk about some key takeaways of the FTC.
1.    Firstly, as I have mentioned above, the main aim of the FTC is to enforce anti-trust laws and also protect the consumers from all kinds of predatory practises that businesses tend to have.
2.    The FTC also does a fantastic job at handling unfair business practices and all kinds of scams. Nowadays, with the advancement of high-speed internet, there are a huge range of malpractice businesses and all kinds of businesses that aim to scam people, the average Joe.

3.    All of the FTC activities have been known to include the investigation of fraud and all kinds of false advertising. For example, if a company advertises that they can do something, for a certain sum of money and, if they are not able to deliver, it would be considered as false advertising. It is false advertising, because they are saying they can do something, when they are not able to deliver.

Trust busting was a significant and serious concern at that time, at the beginning of the 20th century. The FTC still continues to discourage all kinds of anti-competitive behaviour through the Bureau Of Competition. The review all kinds of proposed mergers together, with the Department of Justice. As the decades have passed, the Federal Trade Commission has been given the responsibility of enforcing all kinds of additional business regulations, as it is codified in Title 16 of the Code of Federal Regulations.
