Artist Statement (Project 3: Final)
My art illustrates the personal interest I have in painting about perseverance and spirituality. As someone who has a learning disability, which is autism for me, I often motivate myself to be the best that I can be. I aim to inspire someone who is disabled or probably is like me not to let anybody or anything stop you from working hard and believing in yourself. For my first painting, I wanted to show an inspirational scene which contains two biblical scriptures that I go by on a daily basis when it comes to believing and having faith. My second painting is more of a spiritual scene pertaining to what I called, “A Stairway to Heaven.” The idea that once a person passes away from the physical word, which is Earth, their spirit will ascend to heaven where the Lord God Almighty, his angles and the spirits of others reside. Last, but certainly not least, my painting will be a combination of both perseverance and spirituality. Since I will be graduating from Georgia State University next month, I will do an encouraging scene where I paint myself holding my bachelor’s degree and a heavenly image of the Lord God Almighty looking down from above.

Artist Statement (Project 2)
My art illustrates the personal interest I have in painting about perseverance and spirituality. As someone who has a learning disability, which is autism for me, I often motivate myself to be the best that I can be. I aim to inspire someone who is disabled or probably is like me not to let anybody or anything stop you from working hard and believing in yourself. For this painting, I decided to go with the idea of a “Stairway to Heaven” scene, which will prove that life is only temporary. Being a Christian, I have been taught that heaven is a spiritual place where a person’s soul goes after they pass away from the physical world, which is Earth. Everyone has a spirit inside of our physical body and once a person passes away, the spirit begins to ascend to heaven. The idea is to create a stairway that leads to the open gates of heaven where the Almighty God and his angels reside. Perseverance comes in when a person has fulfilled their destiny and goes on the stairway to be in this spiritual realm called heaven.

Artist Statement
My art illustrates the personal interest I have in painting about perseverance and spirituality. As a born Christian, I often like to read and use the Holy Bible as a reference point for my artwork. Despite the adversity I have faced in my life, God encourages me to preserver no matter what. I hope to be an inspiration to somebody who has probably been like me, and doesn’t think that they can achieve their dreams. Drawing and painting has become very meaningful mediums to express myself in art. For this painting, I illustrate an inspirational scene which shows two biblical scriptures, which are about believing and having faith, that I go on a daily basis. There is also a shining star that represents a person’s potential when applying both scriptures to a person’s life when it comes to overcoming adversity. Finally, I wrote a powerful quote on a sheet of paper to remind a person to be the best they can be regardless of what life throws at you.
