There was a time in my yoga practice where I felt like I just didn't belong in the yoga community, whatever that even is. I don't believe and never have believed in this image of happy, positive, good things and thoughts always thing that I see almost exclusively on IG and I started to feel like there was something in me that needed to change and I felt stressed and these thoughts took me so far from my center. I got back into my studies of yoga and deep into my own practice of yoga and realized that this unbalanced way of living that people keep preaching and preaching isn't real. There is no day without night, there is no inhale without an exhale. You wouldn't be a human being if you had robot feelings. Isn't yoga about learning to feel everything? To be aware, to practice ahimsa which you couldn't do if you didn't feel empathy which to me means to know sadness in some way or another. How could you feel for others when they feel pain or sadness when you've only been happy your whole life? It's not possible. I just want to say to those who feel the same as me that it's okay to feel sad or mad or whatever just as long as you don't let those feelings drive you. You should let them show their presence because they always will, even if it's for a second. But let love drive you. Feel everything. Be completely you. Be a human. Be real. Be authentic. Let yoga use you. #yoga

There's a tiny moment in time right before the anticipated moment we are preoccupied with in our minds that is magic. That little second right before we go into the moment; a yoga pose, a kiss, speaking our truth, whatever it may be where courage is driving us that we feel fearless and strong and beyond who we were two seconds before that one second. It's magic. We believe in ourselves enough to try, to show ourselves to ourselves and the world. Don't loose that feeling. It's easy to forget how strong we felt after things don't go the way we wanted. Don't be so quick to shrink and turn inward when you were so open. Love every moment, feel your true self always. ❤️

I was tagged by the beautiful soul known as @kimchiyogi to #stopdropandyoga and to share #5nonyogafacts about myself when I was out taking my pup on a walk so of course he had to be apart of my pose 😝🐶❤️ ------------ here are my 5 non yoga facts ----------- 💝 Iv had long hair my entire life. It's always been to my mid back or longer. Probably some weird security thing associated with that but I don't care to find out what it is haha. 💝 My nails are never not painted. My toe nails especially haven't been naked in years. And 90% of the time they are pink and sparkly 💅 💝 Iv never flown on a plane before and in April my first flight will be a 30 hour flight to Bali! I'm kinda really nervous about that 😬 💝 Iv been married for 3 months to my best friend. He's the funniest, nerdiest, smartest person Iv ever met and our conversations consist heavily on quoting movies and shows and making each other giggle 😜 💝 I have a huge sweet tooth. I have dessert every single day. Tonight is a vegan chocolate cake that Iv already had for my lunch dessert because to me you should have something sweet and yummy after every meal! 🎂 Alright! I feel like the experience of reading books and practicing yoga are very similar. You can read a book with the intent of needing to get to the end and forget what you read the next day. Or you can take in the words, the meaning behind every sentence and truly understand and love the reading. Same can be said for practicing yoga. You can have the same intent with needing to get to the end of the practice or pose and learn nothing. Or you can feel every breath move with each little movement in your body. You can appreciate what yoga is. It's not about the end point, it's about the little bits inbetween. That's where you learn the most. Move slower in your life and really take in everything because that's where the growth happens. ❤️❤️❤️
