Jotaro’s face darkened. In the periphery of his vision, Rohan cast an uneasy glance in his direction. Watching to see how he would react.

Good fucking grief. “Yes.”

Rohan studied Jotaro for a moment, narrowing his eyes slightly. “I’ll do it.”

Didn’t have much time to do a lot but I managed to finish something on time

It was a lonely season. The light faded fast, and the candles Jotaro lit did little to illuminate the house’s shadowy corners. There were no weeds to pull. There was only himself, and the pages of his manuscript, growing in length at an agonizing pace, and the subtle sound of footsteps in the snow that accumulated on the engawa.

Jotaro found himself wishing he could meet their owner. It was strange, to share this home and yet never know its face.

Jotaro, unsurprisingly, proved to be less than a sparkling conversationalist. By the time Rohan’s car screeched to a halt by the front gate of the destination estate, the two of them had hardly exchanged five words. That was alright, though, Rohan decided as he stepped out of the car, hardly sparing Jotaro a sideways glance. At the end of the day, all he really needed to do was stand around and look pretty. If he could manage that for a few hours, they might just be able to get away with this.

“There’s something else I should probably mention,” Rohan said offhandedly as the two of them crossed the koi pond that spanned the distance between the manor’s entrance and the gate. “These people think we’re actually dating. Do your best not to let them know otherwise.”

One of the prompts for today being “Firsts” I decided to make something like “First night together”

Jotaro’s hand, rough and calloused, brushed his as he handed back the book of photographs, and something pulled sharply in the back of Rohan’s throat. He swallowed hard against it, speaking in short, clipped sentences, attempting to drown it by sheer force of will until he could be alone. To show such weakness in front of a man like Jotaro was unthinkable.
