The mercs and cute semi-aquatic creatures :) [left to right: otter, muskrat, seal, tapir, beaver, capybara, puffin, platypus, mink, pygmy hippo]

I only plan for semiaquatic mammals, but i couldnt find one that fits medic, so he gets a bird

Scout: Otters are sleek, fast and cool Soldier: I want something similar to raccoons. Muskrats are also native to north AMERICA! Pyro: I think he would like seals. They are round and look huggable Demo: Tapir in japanese folklore are said to eat nightmares. For someone who passes out a lot, i think it's a good fit. Engineer: Beavers can build Heavy: Capybara is square-shaped and chill Medic: I think he would like any types of aquatic birds. I pick puffins cause they are cool! Fly, swim, dive, burrow, they can do anything! Sniper: Pretty predictable lol. Platypuses are australia native Spy: Mink. Small yet a deadly hunter

We need some more fucked up engineer for sure. I once wrote that engineer was meant to reflect the attitudes non-southerners have for southerners and subvert them.

"Southerners are dumb hicks" while engineer canonically has 11 phds and a favorite equation. Basic stuff like that for example.

And this also goes for the concept of southern hospitality. Having a friendly smile and relaxed tone to hide his god complex. To hide the absolute venom he can spew at someone he hates. That's probably the most accurate thing about him. The times I had a southern family member act sweet to someone they hate while calling them a bitch or a whore behind their back, is frankly countless. Except I actually like engineer in this case

This isn't to say that "southern hospitality" is always insincere or a facade, but it's almost expected. Especially from older people. You don't want to look or act "ugly". Which was no doubt, something that his family taught him. And probably a concept that he internalized.
