I think Buck Cluck would be a contender with Nicky's parents as some of the worst Disney parents ever created. Yeah, even though he apologized, that doesn't even feel earned given how rushed the writing is.

Really one of the best things about Pelswick in general is the title character. It's so refreshing seeing a disabled character who's not only in a lead role, but is actually a CHARACTER instead of just "kid in a wheelchair". He's smart, he's funny, he's snarky, he's optimistic, he absolutely hates when he's pitied for being disabled, and he's just really sweet and loyal. He's enjoying his life and the moments that you do just feel for him and want to give him a hug are never stereotypical "wheelchair woobie" moments and more "being thirteen sucks and I remember how much it sucked". His problems in the show are never actually about his disability as much as they are how the adults patronize him as a result of it, or just typical teenage antics. The world was just not ready for this show in 2000 and it's sad.

Also somewhat new style I'm doing with coloring...I was inspired by the old Maxine greeting cards before they switched to digital coloring where the colored pencil look was very noticeable.

Anyway this is a wonderful and overlooked show. Tubi has it for free, too.
