I’m Julia Dumbrell, a freelance writer and full-time publicist. I first pursued my writing when earning a UBC degree in English Literature and Commerce, and now I live in Toronto, “for fun.”
My background:
I contribute several beauty/fashion/lifestyle articles a month to NUVO and VITA Magazine, on the pulse of industry news and launches.
I cover music & film for RANGE, culture for The Georgia Straight, and art for SAD Magazine. With the latter, I held the Print / Managing Editor title for three issues.
My audience:
I lean into online trends to inspire high readership, bringing a nuanced point of view to each story.
I moved to Toronto in January 2025, after 10 years of living in Vancouver. Gaining a personal connection to each coast, I write for a national audience.
