Rosary represents my strength in God. I did it because I love it and I always hold it because I think that when I hold this rosary I lose my life problems.

Dekada 70 by Lualhati Bautista
Dekada 70 is one of the rarest filipino films I have seen. The characters which is Amanda( Vilma Santos) Julian( Christopher de Leon) Jules (Piolo Pascual) Isagani ( Carlos Agassi) Emmanuel ( Marvin Agustin ) Jaso ( Danilo Bamos )and Bingo ( John Wayne Sace They are Bartolome Family, Every character has a unique role in this film. The story tells about their life during martial law.
In the 70's you will see various ways of punishing and killing such as torture, women discrimination, intense killing of the innocent person experienced by the children of Amanda and Julian during the martial law period. I’m only focusing in the women discrimination during the martial law like Amanda( Vilma Santos) a mother of 5(Five) sons, Amanda wants to work to earn more money for her children, but her husband wasn’t able to agree to Amanda’s decision that she wants to work. Julian gets mad with his wife the only thing that Julian wants is to stay Amanda at home, prioritize her children and him also. However, at some point Amanda’s life was useless, she felt that she is already losing her identity; she realized that she also wants to develop her skill as a person; she thinks that she doesn’t have rights to do the things that she wanted, to pursue her career and to do everything as a mother.
I think it is very unfair to me if I wouldn’t be able to work. What is the purpose of studying and my ability? And if I wouldn’t be able to use my acquired knowledge and skills in the near future what will be happening to me? I will be growing useless and nothing.
Amanda was a girl power that showed her loving and courage by staying firm and strong for her family, even if she suffered from much heartbreak the lost of her son is very hurt to her. But she did not give up in every problem that comes to her/their life.

The differences of these three phrases of Philippine literature which is the (Pre-colonial,Spanish colonization and American colonial)
First is the Pre colonial, the Filipinos adopt the influences in terms of culture, traditions and customs during pre- colonial period . In terms of cultures such as the oral literature like songs, myths, riddles, proverbs, etc. Oral literature of the pre-colonial period the Filipinos bore the marks of the community. However, this era shows how the early Filipinos grew in central over their environment, its just because during the pre-colonial the ancient Filipinos learned and experience constituting creature, work in the home, objects of nature and also caring for children.
And during the Spanish colonization, they influence us in terms of religion, culture, education, in terms of education the Spaniard did not educate the Filipinos. The Spaniard introduced the western system of education , Filipino learned to eat bread, drink coffee, and also they learned in a mode of dressing, bahag, barong tagalog etc.
And the last , the American colonies, during the American colonization ,the American introduced education for all the Filipinos, the American educates us. They give us freedom, they influence us in terms of cultures ,traditions, economy, language ,in terms of language they introduced English for our medium instructions , the literacy rate was increased and also the economy is also increased by changing products to another country.
The similarities of (pre- colonial, Spanish colonization and American colonial) is that they bring a lot of changes to the Philippines. They influence us , they taught us, they govern us in different ways and manner. We learned and we adopt the cultures, religion, tradition, language and customs in different countries that those influences we used the Filipinos until now.
