Im a growing artist and im okayish at anatomy, but I've always been using photographs or other art when making poses, is that bad? I don't directly trace the pose line by line, I just make them in blocks to adapt into my art style, but I always felt bad about doing it, any advice?

Hey there! No no please don't feel bad!! This is exactly how I do it as well. I use reference photos either from the internet or I take my own so that's totally valid! I think the only upgrade would be to draw from life, either by joining live figure drawing classes or just sketching random people. You can also study the human body to get a feel of where muscles, bones, joints etc. sit and how they move. Working out really helped me with that as well

But otherwise I think that's a very normal and good way to practice anatomy!

My family has two dogs named Nova and Bruno. Really - that's been their names for years. Anyway, a couple weeks ago we got two cats, and have started getting them and the dogs used to each other. Nova and the cats have settled into an uneasy peace, but Bruno is still behaving aggressively. It's evening now, and the cats, humans, and Nova are free to go about the house, while Bruno is shut in my parents' bedroom. And I just thought, "Wow - big Encanto vibes here."

I have to ask because I'm really curious, what do you think about the whole 'Villain Bruno' thing? I know that people have a lot of different opinions about it, from "Don't mess with Bruno!" all the way to "This is super interesting and my life fuel." There are a few different versions, too, from the full out villain/cursed thing to the misguided cinnamon roll and everything in between. I personally think much of the art and stories are very interesting. What are your thoughts on the concept?

Hmm I do think villain AUs pretty interesting and they can be really cool!! Personally I just can't see Bruno as anything but a sweet awkward cinnamon roll. And most of the fics I've seen make Bruno evil by glorifying him and bashing the rest of the family (same with villain Mirabel) and I'm just personally not invested in that. Plus I'm just really not interested in Bruno-centric stuff in general.

What I do think is pretty cool to see, esp in art, is "villain" or "evil" Madrigals in general but as a unit. Like evil triplets or smth like that because the aesthetic is ✨✨👌

Camilo over hears about Juileta's nightmare about Bruno being taller than her and decides to shapeshift into tall Bruno as a joke. Turns out that Bruno is more creeped out by Tall Bruno, despite his complaints about being the shortest of the triplets, he actually prefers it, he get's all the best cuddles

You think if Pedro was alive, Pepa would've been a daddy's girl? She'd still have the same sort of erraticness and messiness to her, but her father can somehow make sense of it all and is able to bring her back down to earth when needed. At least, that's the type of energy Pedro gives me. I just think it'd be sweet if Pepa were a daddy's girl.

I 1000% believe Pepa is a daddy's girl!! Tbh it is more difficult to think about how her character might have changed if she grew up with a normal life and a father figure, but in my mind she definitely would be closer to him. Just imagine the shenanigans those two would get into asjfdk

I have the headcanon that of all three siblings, she got into the most fights with Alma, (i.e. Alma always pointing out her clouds, Pepa being loud and emotional and tomboy-ish while Alma always bottled up her emotions and tried to save face in front of the village, wanting things to be fine etc. etc.) and that Pepa would be the one to really challenge her. I also kinda think they are too similar and that Bruno and Juli remind Alma more of Pedro. That's not to say that they didn't get along, I definitely think Alma was there for Peps during even her worst thunderstorms and that for Pepa nothing could calm her down as well as any kind of physical affection from her mamá but idk that's just the vibe I got.
