Even more Bob Reynolds headcanons because I’m having way too much fun with him

Something short and sweet this time around! I’ve been sick as hell for the past week and I wanted to be nice to Bob this post so here’s a little treat from me <3

The serum from the Sentry project didn’t alter Bob’s body internally very much, besides the muscles and healing abilities. His immune system wasn’t touched, so he still gets sick like the average person would. Alexei has to wrestle Bob to get him to lie down and rest because the Avengerz need to be well rested and healthy so they can be prepared for anything, but Bob doesn’t want to be a burden and always insists that he isn’t sick, all while he’s running a fever, sweating buckets, and shaking with full body chills. He loses every time, and Alexei will victoriously throw him over his shoulder like a sack of potatoes and carry him to bed.

When Bucky finally introduced Alpine to the team and brought her to live in the tower with them, she took an immediate liking to Bob and quickly became his unofficial emotional support animal. Bob never had any pets growing up, so he isn’t sure what he did to make Alpine grow so close to him, but they are attached at the hip. If she isn’t with Bucky or if Bucky isn’t around, she’s with Bob, most likely curled up in his lap or in his bed making biscuits in his blankets. Alpine also took a liking to Yelena’s guinea pig, appropriately named Cucumber.

Bob has a stutter that isn’t very noticeable until he starts to ramble or is panicked / upset. Whenever he’s stuck on a word or syllable, he’ll blow a raspberry to stop himself from talking and it gives him a moment to gather and finish his thoughts. The rest of the Thunderbolts tease him relentlessly for this, especially Yelena. If he stutters while he’s talking to her, she’ll stick her tongue out and blow a raspberry at him to grab his attention. It makes them both laugh.

Bob is nearsighted. He definitely needed glasses as a kid, but his parents thought he didn’t no matter how many times he said he couldn’t see what was written on the chalkboard at school. Now as an adult, he still squints from time to time whenever he reads or watches TV. Everyone thinks he’s really engrossed in whatever he’s doing because his face is so close to it, but no, he literally just can’t see.

Bob is both a side sleeper and a stomach sleeper, and he also cannot sleep without hugging something or someone. It doesn’t matter if it’s a pillow, a blanket, Alpine, or somebody’s arm, he has to be holding onto something in order to sleep. The only ones he trusts enough to be this vulnerable around are Yelena and Walker. He drools and mumbles nonsense in his sleep sometimes too, but nobody has the heart to tell him.
