“Uh-Huh! No hiding!” The Small girl crossed her arms, nodding her head as she looked back up at him, a stubborn expression on her face, “ A 'cause I say so.” Tilly’s expression faulted, a tiny little smile working its way back onto her lips, “Its á rules - hiding isn't allowed!”

Alex was so beyond happy when she was finally able to adopt a child. It still feels like a dream every time she looks at Matilda. And when she broke her arms, Alex was barely able to stay calm for her daughter. She was terrified that it was something worse than just a few broken bones, but thankfully, that’s all it was.

Since she got Matilda, she had become a very light sleeper, in case she needed her throughout the night. So when she heard movement from the other room, she was up and getting out of bed.

“I’m awake,” Alex said, stepping out of her room to find Matilda. A grin spread across her lips as she took in the sight of her daughter standing there, stepping closer and kneeling down. “Do you need some help there?”

At the time, her plan had been a great idea - but still being so young, Matilda hadn’t exactly thought things through - namely that it was pretty obvious humans couldn’t fly not without powers at least. But since she had been adopted, she had seen Supergirl a few times, far more than most kids got to see her - because her Momma worked with Supergirl. And every time Tilly saw her, the Superhero had flown - so trying it for herself had just seemed like a good idea.... she had been at the park when it happened, attempting to jump from the slide instead of going down it, determined to try and fly.... until she landed hard on her arms, it had been bad and it had hurt. 

Now she had arm-sticks instead, cause her bones had to ‘heal’ still - she did still have some pain - and sometimes cried cause it hurt - but her Momma had special medicine that helped when it hurts too much. She adored her Momma, so - so much. She had never ever been happier than the day she got called ‘Matilda Danvers’ for the first time ever! 

She loved her new home too, it was hers - and her Momma’s own special home. She had her own room and her own bed and even had her own things. Each morning she’d get up herself and get ready - or try to as currently she struggled not being able to move her arms properly. Trying to move them when they couldn’t hurt too. 

But as annoying as it was she still lit up, a bright smile making her pout disappear when her Momma entered her room - even as the shirt she had been trying to put on was now stuck on her left arm cast, clearly not going to fit through the armhole of the tiny shirt no matter how much she wanted it to do so. 

“Momma!” Tilly smiled, nodding her head as she gave a tiny glare to her arms, “They not fitting Momma - it gets stucked!” She pulled a face before looking back up her smile returning as she looks to her mother again. Momma would be able to fix it so she could get dressed, she just knew that much.

“It’s okay, darling. I don’t fight without need.” Kara promised, picking up the little girl in her arms. “You can rest assured I won’t get hurt.”

With a tiny little huff, the girl leans into the warm arms, still not completely reassured but she gives a nod anyways, “Okay Okay. BUT if you does gotta fights - I will fights too, cause you my Ohana Aunty ands I not gonna lets you get hurted okays?”

It had been just a few weeks since she was officially adopted, officially made a Danvers. She had a full name, with an extra special last name that she was proud to say she shared with people who cared about her. Matilda Elle Danvers was her name, and she would never get tired of saying it. But the little girl was struggling this morning, trying to get herself dressed was extra hard with her arms still in the ‘sticks’. 

After an attempt at copying Supergirl, who had landed more than once outside of the new place she shared with her Momma, Tilly had not flown... quite obviously. She was human, and humans.. couldn’t fly. Or so she had discovered when she broke not one - but both of her arms. 

She was still awake early and adjustments had been made so she could sleep with the casts comfortably enough, getting up wasn’t even that hard - but getting out of her pyjamas and into daytime clothes... That was hard for the young girl as she huffed and stomped her small feet. 

She needed help.

“Momma? Momma is you ‘wakes yet?”
