I like all the "I am a robot/dragon/creature" and variations but it inspired me to make a sort of universal option to reflect what's really being asked (or at least what we're pretending is being asked these days), for anyone of any species or no species. I'm too inconsistent to get more euphoria from "I am a [thing]" than something species-neutral

Hello shooting stars! Today's post is about Phantom Shifts! For as long as I can remember, I've always had some sort of phantom shift in times of a high animalistic mindset. (More under the cut ofc, expect lots of rambling, as usual)

When I was younger and first awoke, I made connections to being a fox therian, a seraph and some sort of water lung dragon because my shifts are based on my emotions and how I feel in my environment.

However, none of them ever felt quite right.. I didn't get any other types of shifts except for maybe one or two specific ones in certain types. (For example, only having wing shifts as an angel, having claw and teeth shifts that didn't fit being a fox, etc.)

I now realize that I had a ton of physical shifts that didn't "fit" together, so I tried to mash it all into a therian and otherkin box.

That didn't work :/

Eventually, I had to become an adult and decided to push away a lot of things that didn't need my direct focus, such as my mental health, religious and spiritual beliefs, my gender identity and how I perceive masculinity and my nonhumanity.

I also decided to keep the idea of all of those topics being linked together due to certain criteria like trauma, upbringing and again, mental illness, on the back burner for a while.

All that being said! In recent times, I've figured myself out to be some sort of void shapeshifter with possibilities of being a conceptkin? and having otherheart types as well.

So! The shifts that I have noticed and experience the most (because I do get stray shifts, such as hooves or webbed talons) are giant feathered wings, huge emotive ears (possibly bat or some type of fox?) And a tail that is always fluffy, no matter it's length or volume.

I get paws every now and then, more than I get teeth and claw shifts, which is odd since it makes me want to tiptoe. And very rarely, I get to experience digitigrade legs and potential full body shifts.

Like I said, my shifts are based on my surroundings and emotional state, so most of my shifts are mental than phantom, but I love them no matter what!

I will be posting more about what I think I might look like and my own journey and experiences!! Stay tuned!
