Take A Break: Fox X Reader
Commander Fox x Jedi Reader
Summary: Commander Fox works so much and he should really take a break, every now and then. Luckily, his lover can provide the much deserved break that he needs.
Warnings: Just fluff and pretty short.
It was the normal routine every day. Fox would stay in the Senate Building, long after all the clones went back to the Clone Barracks to rest after a long day’s work. Thire would comm you, telling you to get Fox to leave or at least take a break, and you would arrive at the Senate Building with a caf in your hand for Fox. And each day Fox would be the same...
“No, I have too much to do. I cannot go back to the Barracks, yet. My work needs to be done before tomorrow!” Fox says gruffly, his eyes never leaving the datapad in front of him. He sits back in his desk chair, taking a sip from what looks to be his eighth cup of caf, and resumes his work, glancing over at you briefly.
“Okay, but you should really take a break. Your hair will be grey by the time you finish, Fox! Besides the meeting with the Senators from Naboo and Pantora isn’t until four days!” you said, pouting at Fox. Not that it mattered, he wasn’t looking at you anyway.
“I don’t have time for a break, my love. I really do have to finish this, okay? You should go back to the Temple. I’m sure the Jedi need you for something.” Fox answered, still not looking at you. Shaking your head, you walk towards him, and ran your fingers through his soft, fluffy brown hair. Fox’s tensed muscles instantly relaxed as he peered up at you with dark brown, tired but loving, eyes. Smiling softly, you pressed a kiss to his forehead, and then to his lips.
Fox pulled away and grinned at you. “Fine, I’ll take a break. But only a short one, I still have so much to do.”
You couldn’t help but smirk. Getting Fox to take a break was not a easy task but it seemed you’d just found a way to make it easier.
“That’s fine. I’m just glad you’re actually going to take a break at least.” you said.
Fox shrugged, shutting his datapad off, ready to give you all of his attention. This war against the Seppies was hard. Not just for the brave men in the frontlines, but also for the Coruscant Guard. Fox being the highest in command of the Guard was always busy, but it was these little breaks that made things better. Fox made things so much better and you made things so much better for Fox, too.
There was no telling how long this war would last, but as long as you both had each other, it would make it worth fighting for.
