He did care about the baby.
If he just wanted to die he wouldn't've tried to do the jump rope.
If he just wanted to die he wouldn't've taken the baby across with him.
If he just wanted to die he wouldn't've tried to get Jun-hee across.
If he just wanted to die he wouldn't've held the baby while he went to sleep.
If he just wanted to die he would've stabbed himself the moment In-ho showed him the knife. hell, he could've killed In-ho and himself
If he just wanted to die he would've jumped off the moment they got to the top of the towers with the baby in hand. or dropped the baby
If he just wanted to die he would've let them push him off.
If he just wanted to die he wouldn't've fought Myungi-gi.
If he just wanted to die he wouldn't've monologued before he fell.
If you believe he didn't care about the baby that's a choice to misinterpret the narrative.
If you want to believe that the message of the show is "look for a reason to kill yourself if you're suicidal" that is an active choice to misinterpret the narrative.
If you believe the ending his hollow and shallow then fine, but to say he didn't care about the baby is ignoring all the things he did before he killed himself.
Just because it's cliche doesn't mean it's bad. There's a reason cliches are so common.
Just because you saw the ending coming doesn't mean it's a bad ending.
Just beacuse you didn't like the ending does't mean it's a bad ending.

I just noticed and it's breaking my heart so I'm going to point it out, while singing "What It Sounds Like" Mira and Zoey were fighting the other Saja Boys but Rumi was just walking towards Jinu and she was smiling at him. She wasn't going to fight him she was going to reach out to him again to try and save him.

And the lines she sings while looking straight at him as she's walking foreward through the battle are "Show me what's underneeth, I'll find your harmony. Fearless and unrefined, this is what it sounds like."
SHE WAS TRYING TO SAVE HIM!!!!!

I wasn't the biggest fan of Abby until this song. The way he sang "sanctuary" scratched my brain and I love the way he showed off his hat strap. This scene is a hundred times hotter than all the scenes where he shows off his abs. Period.

So you’re telling me that when Dae-Ho finally chooses to confront something head on, he starts getting aggressive and puts Gi-Hun down by blaming him? He finally “mans up” and confronts Gi-Hun and that’s his go-to energy?
Sounds like his dad probably modeled that behavior to him when he was a kid and now that Dae-Ho is forced to do something to try to save his own life, so he channeled his dad’s energy because it intimidated him when he was younger so maybe he can intimidate/manipulate Gi-Hun now.
(I’m literally just spitballing a headcanon here. Not a good one, but I haven’t slept in 24 hrs so🧍🏽‍♀️)
(I’m also specifically referring to the scene where Dae-Ho yells at Gi-Hun before the hide and seek game starts)

I see everyone complaining about s3 of squid game while I just enjoy it for what it is (not the death), but...
It was never intend to be a comfort show or a happy show.
This is a show about human nature and about what people are capable to do for money!
So yes, it's a tv show so we could hope for a happy ending like.. If you put all your heart you can stop something like that, but... This is not just a tv show! This is a realistic tv show about human and human society!
If you have not the money and power for ending something like that, you just can't. In real life, bad rich people win..., because they are protect by other powerful people. It's unfair but it's like that. This is the case in this show. This is the message of this show.
And this is why I find everything very logical, even the end. Yes it's sad, but, this is unfortunatly, the reality of the world.
And even if this game stop in one country, it would start in another!
What I mean is... People are mad so they call it bad writing. I personnaly think the writing on the contrary was good. And people are just mad with the ending (who is very fair). But I don't think we should just scream bad writing, because we (you) are disappointed. It has a difference between bad writing and disappointment from what we would have see. Even If I totally respect your opinion and your reaction!
Voilà!!!!

Did the show ruin that character’s character or did you misinterpret and mischaracterize that character with your own headcanons that you convinced yourself were true?
Omg the wind is so loud 🫣

One of the things that absolutely pisses me off is the Ddakji in the USA. I mean, doesn't each country play the games that are played by children there? Ddakji is a Korean game! They should play an American game in the USA UGHHHHHH.

Sometimes there’s things that make me feel super Texan
I didn’t expect knowing Dae-Ho was lying about being a marine based on how he was holding a gun to be one of them

It’s not sexist or weird that there weren’t any women finalists in the death game btw… they all died because of their humanity and the men were able to live a little longer because they were able to push any empathy and selflessness away… even the most fucked up women are still gonna get taken advantage of if there’s a sufficiently angry man… sorry y’all but squid game was never a positive show. There was never gonna be a positive or hopeful ending, ESPECIALLY once Netflix pressured the creators of the show and capitalized on their creation. And not every ending is meant to be positive, happy, or even statisfying. It’s not “good” the baby survived… its not even The Point. Empathy and selflessness killed the main character along with every other “good” character while anger/selfishness/greed/cowardice killed the rest… no one wins capitalism and Gi-hun certainly wasn’t gonna win The Game…
